Would give a 0 if I could

Would give a 0 if I could. Worst banking app I've experienced. What a trash bank. Got my account restricted for no reason, and they wouldn't unrestrict it over the phone once I talked to them. So, like they don't care at all if you're left stranded with no money. Dogs.

Slow Service and Bad Attitudes

The biggest issue is just how slow everything is. If I gotta go to a branch, I know I'm commitin' at least 45 minutes of my whole day right there. Seriously, waiting that long just to talk to someone feels kinda old-fashioned, right? They really gotta figure out how to speed up this whole process. And the SCB Easy app? It's usable, until it ain't. That app has a habit of being super moody whenever I need to transfer cash quick. I've had it lag out or freeze up a couple of times when I was in a rush already. They're a huge bank, so things should be smoother than this. It's just inconvenient more often than I'd prefer.

Genuinely the I've had bad experiences…

Genuinely the I've had bad experiences with this bank in general, extremely long queues. The Banking app is not user friendly. Replaced phone and it states that the bank dose not have my picture on the system to allow me to reactivate it ,even though for the last 3 occasions I visited the bank they
requested my passport.

SCB Bank is making the customers life…

SCB Bank is making the customers life terrible and the way of how they do accordenly for lock customers money by document and the way the do every month for acces our own money by we have to accept the Chang they make in the system by upgrade all the time and if not accept there new rules then it is not possible to access our own account online and if ask for a Trans action that been don't on our account then get a standard answer from customer service and not an answer on who is the one make redraw on our account the bank getting too smart and all answer is for protect us as customers but how can that be if not agree with the update they do and who can read 100 of new pages before acces the money we give for the bank to borrow. They will not contact us as customers even write to customer service but give a Standart answer always

A BANK THAT MAKES YOUR LIFE MISERABLE

THE LAW STATES THAT A FOREIGNER NEEDS TO SHOW PROOF THAT FUNDS TO BUY PROPERTY CAME FROM ABROAD. IT DOESNT SAY THAT

1.THE TRANSFER FROM FOREIGN BANK CANT BE VIA INTERNATIONAL PROMPTPAY

2. THE TRANSFER NEEDS TO HAVE A LABEL SAYING "AM BUYING THIS DAMN PROPERTY"

SO LONG THE DAMN MONEY CAME FROM ABROAD, WHATS YOUR GODDAMN ISSUE WITH GIVING A LETTER STATING SO????

THE STAFF IN SCB CENTRAL FESTIVAL CHIANG MAI IS BASICALLY NOT ALLOWING A CUSTOMER TO BUY PROPERTY CITING THESE OUTRAGEOUSLY STUPID REASONS.

THIS IS THE WORST CASE OF BANKING AND CUSTOMER SERVICE I HAVE SEEN. AS AN ORGANISATION, SHAME ON YOU FOR BEHAVING IN THIS MANNER.

YOU JUST LOST A CUSTOMER WHO WILL NOT HAVE ANYTHING GOOD TO TELL ABOUT YOU TO YOUR PROSPECTIVE CUSTOMERS.

Siam Commercial Bank ATMs - BE CAREFULL!!!!

I withdraw some money at one of their ATMs in Prachinburi, Thailand. The ATM pulled my card in and never returned it. Communication with them to get the card back is very complicated since the menu options won’t work for English. A friend tried to help me communicating but their response is basically obstruction. For all tourists, do not use SIAM Commercial Bank ATMs , in this institution they literally act like thieves.

Highly arrogant and incapable in…

Highly arrogant and incapable in serving a fluently Thai speaking foreign-born Thai national. Still asking for a work permit when being presented with a Thai national ID card.
Foreign-born Thai nationals are issued credit cards only with fixed savings accounts, despite 6 months of payroll confirmation. K Bank and UOB are respectful, fair, and equitable in comparison.

Rude Bank Agent

I contacted the call center and was recommended to contact to a branch directly. The call center's agent was good and helpful. But the Ratchayothin branch's agent was so rude. The lady at the branch, who picked up my phone call, did not let me finish my questions and just directly interrupted me many times. She did not let me finish talking about my concerns or situations and just kept dumping general information to me. She even insulted me by calling me that I am just a normal staff. She told me to tell my boss to walk in to the branch to ask questions instead. So unhelpful and rude.

Make SCB Easy Registration NOT Require a SIM

Very little notice closing web browser based online banking (from, effectively, anywhere in the world) and then offering no alternative except for mobile phone app that REQUIRES a Thailand mobile provider phone number **with data** ONLY (!!) so a One Time Password (OTP) can be sent SMS (Once! After that, apparently, the app works on the phone via wifi). So anyone outside Thailand who doesn't have a cell phone with a Thai mobile provider SIM/eSIM with roaming and data has completely lost access to their SCB accounts. SCB does not even offer over the phone (ie. talking to a person) banking services to support people stuck in this situation. I emailed them back and forth 4 times asking the same question each time: "Is SCB working on enabling access from non-Thai (international) mobile phone numbers?" and they never answered the question. Speaking with them on the phone they said they were, but I don't have much faith in that answer. Why can't the app be installed and setup when connected just to Wifi and have the OTP sent to an email address, and then entered into the phone, as the 2FA method? Or why can't they continue to provide web browser based online banking to specific account holders who are overseas and cannot meet the phone app requirements? We will be closing our SCB accounts and withdrawing our 900,000,000+ baht savings when next we go to Thailand.

Everything the other reviewer "Unreal" wrote happened to me too. Just utterly unbelievable. As and when I get back to Thailand I will of course close my account of 30+ years, and will do my very best to remain cool and polite when I do that. Oh yes, no registered Thai phone number, no access whatsoever, not even to their call centre.

Deserves 0 stars. Absolute travesty of an organization. If it wasn’t in Thailand it would’ve been shut down by the regulator years ago - avoid at all costs unless you like terrible customer service (online and offline) and a geriatric approach to blocking your account when they feel like it.

Worth experience I had today at SCB…

Worth experience I had today at SCB Phuket Central branch, waiting for one hour, very limited number of staff, some having a peaceful lunch when the waiting area is very busy, some staff ignoring customers and just spending time on their mobile phone, no management around and the best of the best, if you are Thai and know the staff, obviously you don’t need to take a number and proceed with the queue, it is evident that priority of given to Thai friends over farang customers , it won’t take me long to move my money to a much more service oriented bank such as Kasikorn, Krungsri or UOB , what a shocker today !!!!

A Bank That Does Not Care

The SCB Bank does not care a hoot about the needs of it's customers. I recently applied for a credit card with the SCB, fulfilling or exceeding the criteria laid down by the bank. Not only was the application unsuccessful I have received no word from the bank as to why this was the case. The whole process was very time consuming and expensive. Do not waste your time with this bank, they do not care !!

Check your exchange rates folks. This bank sure knows how to put a vague premium on the overseas transfers. Loanshark tactics. Disgusted by it. the Thai banks made me run away to international banks. Glad i did. can't trust them on bit.

Horrible bank. Cruel workers

Horrible bank. I was unfortunate enough that my international card got stuck in their ATM. They refused to give me back my card because it had my fathers name and not mine. Cruel and horrible people work in that place that do not want to help and don’t understand you at all. So now I’m in a foreign country and have no way of receiving money (I make money in rubles and right now it’s impossible to transfer them). I will avoid this bank for the rest of my life and I suggest you do too

Terrible bank customer service in Phuket Thailand!

I tried to open a fixed account, I am a 10 year savings account holder of this bank but they have not even acknowledged that part in how they provided me service. During my initial enquiry, I did not have the requirements with me but I only asked how to apply for it. A few days later, I came back with all requirements to be held for 3 hours and ended up having no fixed account opened due to system glitches. The lady was nice enough to apologize and offered to follow up when their system has been fixed and I can return to complete the process. About 9 days later, I was called to come back (that is just a long time to wait for system to be fixed but I did not even complain!) I got there and there was a different lady who assisted me. And they have given me a very different amount that they said is required for me to get approved for the credit card I am also applying for linked to the fixed account... and they only told me this after I spent another 1.5hours signing the same set of photocopied passport and work permit I did the first time (if you'd ask me, they're really like they're in the ICE AGE to still not be having paperless processes!) Then they were talking in Thai and then offered if I like to speak with their manager. I said I understood everything your manager said and you have already wasted enough of my time so I am stopping here. I did not continue even when they offered that they'd try to escalate the request.

I ended up moving all my funds and opening a KBank account. KBank was fast, had a better system in the fixed account and credit card offer, and most importantly, they explained all needed info (although I asked the right questions this time around). It's still pending right now but the service was faster and I was out of the bank in less than an hour.

Imagine, you transfer money from abroad to currency account. You can't access your account online, you can't have checks,. they not let you know that you received money through a transfer. Lot of employees seem lost, it takes them so much time for sample operations. I am not used to very inefficient service. That's what I always received from SCB. They should open up to listen to their customers and improve their service by better training their staff and give them more power to do more things. Seems very hierarchical, more like public service than very performing modern bank.
I called their customers service to check if my transfer arrived to my account since I can't check online, they don't give you access to currency account.
The lady after asking me my account number. She came back to tell me that she didn't see any transaction before May first ( we were May 10th) on another account that i didn't ask for. Then she stated that an account number is only 10 digits. My account number is more than 10 digits as exactly written on the bank book. I asked her to tell me about the account number I gave her, not any other account I have with SCB. Then she disappear for a while to come back telling me, I should go to bank to check by myself. We are in 21st century, nobody needs to go physically to check just simple transaction anywhere in the world.
I had to state that she can go check since she have access to the system.... She finally answered my question after long time wasted on the phone. It's energy draining and disappointing to battle for so simple service. By the way they charge high fees when you receive money from abroad and even more fees every time you withdraw your money.
Never seen any of my banks elsewhere do this. I regret doing business with such bank.
