Bought a chair through this company in November 2023 that had several parts missing.
Called numerous times with follow up emails and got nowhere.
Submitted two complaints that went largely unanswered.
I eventually received some items in the post but I already had these so complained again.
Bizarrely I received a parcel today from Scott's only to find it was a sim card and not anything to do with a chair I ordered.
We're two months down the line and I'm going round in circles. Nobody takes any responsibility.
It doesn't surprise me that this company went into liquidation last year and it's only a matter of time before they do again.
I will never buy from this company again.
Purchased Technaxx BT retro LP player
Purchased Technaxx BT retro LP player . Arrived with a 2 pin European plug . Helpline suggested I cut off plug & rewire or connect the plug to a toothbrush charger ????. I demanded a new connector with a UK 3 pin plug . Arrived but connector too big to fit into LP player. After many phone calls (and emails which went unanswered) , it has been returned. Sold with wrong specifications and terrible customer service . It has taken since Oct 2023 for this to be dealt with . Not impressed and won’t be purchasing anything else from this company . So beware if you order this - it is German made and fine for use in Germany but not for UK customers .
Rubbish customer service and failure to deliver item
ordered a small item and paid the full postage. Tried to track delivery after a few days but told order did not exist. Money was taken from credit card. Tried e mails and telephone calls but only auto response to mails. Now been 5 weeks hoping item will arrive but had enough and bought item from another source. Asked for refund but hold out no hope. Will have to go through credit card. How can any company survive if this is the way they conduct business? It is totally unacceptable in this day and age.

I ordered an item in their shop in Stow on the Wold and was told it could be up to six weeks to arrive. I heard nothing more so decided to phone the shop. Couldn't get through so phoned customer services. They said they could see my order was in but didn't know why we hasn't recieved it. Woukd look into it and get back to me. Never heard so phoned again. Got fobbed off. After about four more calls getting told the same asked for a refund. Chap went away and said he'd done it. Still waiting so going through the credit card company now. Get the impression their customer service us non existent.
No confirmation email
No confirmation email, called 3 times, was told would be here in 7-10 days. 7 days pass, I call again, been told the item is now no longer available until March? No communication if I hadn’t have called I’d have never known.
Poor customer service
My elderly mother bought a wooden table and chairs. Table lovely but chairs arrived damaged. Arranged a return (they use Evri for returns) and it’s now been over three weeks with no replacement or refund. My mother is now being fobbed off with excuse after excuse for nothing being done. Guessing complaint and refund via credit card will be the only option.
Sadly I can’t recommend this company.
Useless
I ordered a box of Christmas crackers from this company more than a week ago, and have been told today that they have been despatched only today. The customer service department say they should arrive 'within a week'from now, i.e a fortnight from when they were ordered. The delivery charge was £6.95. Surely when other companies can get things delivered in a day or two for around half of this cost Scott's of Stow should sharpen their ideas up. To add insult to injury they are being delivered by evri who I do not trust since they left a parcel in the middle of the lane and another one in someone else's porch, in both cases messaging me confidently that they had been delivered.
I would strongly advise against buying from Scotts, they are completely hopeless and unprofessional.

My mother is elderly and does a lot of internet shopping.
The last order she placed with this company was not delivered. The company said they had left it in her blue bin. No confirmation was posted through her door and as she is elderly her carers only access the bin once a week and confirmed they saw no deliveries in the bin.
The order before that items were missing and still have not been delivered.
The cost of all the undelivered items has been taken from my mother’s account.
Emails have been sent by me to Customer Services (my mother is elderly and does not use email). No response has been received.
It is disappointing that companies like this take money from people and do not deliver items.
Overcharged on sale item…
Went to store in Stow on Wold at the weekend. lovely store, Purchased numerous items. We live an hour and half away from store. On returning home we realised that we have been over charged on a product that was on sale. I have sent two emails to customer service email addresses had no response at all so far. My husband called the phone number & we as told he only dealt with online & we need to return to store. We asked for a phone number for the store he said there isn't one. We live miles away & we're just visiting for the day,this is not acceptable customer service at all. Can I be contacted by management to have this rectified. I will not shop with you again due to this issue.
6.5 months and still waiting / no refund or item
Absolutely terrible customer service and customer treatment. Item not received and several dates missed over several months. Promised refund and not received. Company has stopped communicating with me.
A deluge of junk mail
My mother moved into a nursing home in November 2022. Since then I get (via mail redirection) at least one catalog from Scotts of Stow or another company a the same address.
Despite numerous times of reaching out and being told that her details were removed, I still get this junk.
This is in breach of GDPR and I am contacting their director.

Terrible company I ordered two coverless duvets I’ve received one God knows when the second one is coming of a different colour so I’ve asked for the same colour to be delivered as I’ve already received because they said they had them in stock but I still haven’t had a dispatch date this is going on and on and on do not buy from this company. I can’t recommend this company at all.
Unbelievably poor customer service
This review is purely about my experience with “customer service”
My Mum died in March 2023 and I informed everyone who had Mum on their mailing list. On 6th September I was still receiving junk mail from this company. I emailed them again and was promised on 6th September that my Mum’s details had been erased from their system. I am still receiving junk mail from this company addressed to my Mum over 2 months since they assured me her details were completely erased from their system. Now they are refusing to answer my emails so I am left with no alternative than to leave them a one star review and lodge an official complaint with the Information Commissioner regarding the breach of GDPR
No chips for tea!
Ordered a few items in October 2023 - especially wanted the deep fat fryer which did not arrive. I did telephone them and was assured it would be with me for 4th November - didn't arrive so phoned again and was told it would be with me for 11th November. Again it did not arrive. Not trusting their reassurances I did email them twice but no reply to either. Finally cancelled my order and asked them for reimbursement. Why advertise goods if you can't supply them.

My 85 year old mother placed an order for 16 LED bulbs on the 29th August. 3 arrived the week after which were incorrect. These were sent back at a cost of £6.95 deducted from her credited amount.
On the 4th November a further 12 bulbs arrived - 4 again screw fit which should be bayonet, the replacement bulbs from August that were delivered incorrectly we're still waiting on. I've sent an e-mail with no reply. Spoke with Tracey on the customer service team who took no responsibility and kept having to check with her TL (Team Leader I surmise).
I was on the phone for 36 minutes, when she said she'd sent a note to Swindon I have no idea who Swindon are and they would be in touch, then cut me off. As it stands I have no idea if 'Swindon' will call me back and a mother sitting in darkness with bulbs that don't fit........the sage continues!
Why oh why do people use this company
Why oh why do people use this company? Oh that's right I know - they continue to advertise in older people's magazines and newspapers and take advantage of the elderly and the vulnerable with their over priced rubbish! My father passed away and I've called 3 times to have the catalogues stopped - their customer service is absolutely appalling! Not one iota of empathy and all they want is the customer number? I don't have it - which part of my dad has died are you not getting here? There should be some kind of regulation for crooks like these! If I could give minus stars I would. Stay clear!
Items not as described - low quality high cost
This company recently took over Scotts of Stow. I purchased something that was an expensive item to replace something that had been purchased from them years previously. The previous product was TIMES better than what arrived. In order to view the product I had to unwrap it. I immediately knew it was poor quality and contacted the company. They are refusing to accept the item - which I simply do not want as it is not as described - or refund nor have offered any alternative resolution. I would be wary purchasing as costs compared appear to be HIGH. It's extremely frustrating. A similar complaint from relative who had gifted the previous product and recommended the company - with a purchase they had made providing a product different to what they were expecting based on appearances. complaint and return procedures shambolic and poorly communicated.
Customer service
EDIT: Since the below, I have received absolutely sterling customer service from Linda and have amended the stars accordingly.
This company has zero customer service. I wanted an order cancelled after finding it literally £12 cheaper on another site. The whole order was £31 so this was a pretty huge percentage! I contacted them immediately - the order had been placed minutes before I contacted them. I received a generic email (I assume written by AI) from an EU email address and no responses at all to my follow up emails. Furious to see they have now dispatched the item I wanted cancelled.
Money still owing to us from faulty item
Despite my elderly mother being a very regular customer, a mobile phone she bought was faulty - they dragged this out for ages then said they'd gone bankrupt (despite being very happy to still take her money and sell her items). We have had no further information about getting this money back, and a recent email requesting this went unanswered (email to change address for catalogue was answered immediately). I am appalled they can do this - so be warned, it's great until it goes wrong, then good luck dealing with them.
