Terrible time. Please do not use this company.caused me so much stress. Can't contact. Worst customer service ever. Couldn't pay balance online, kept failing. Wrong chair colour came finally after months of waiting, faulty leg on footstool. Stuck out. Complaint correspondence ignored. Over 10 phone calls made, four visits to store to sort this mess. So.muxh wasted time and stress. Finally came to collect faulty sofa, rejected delivery as only two pieces of furniture on their documents. Would give no stars if it let me!

Kept me informed and updated regarding delivery. Delivery as per scheduled. Delivery personnel were friendly and efficient.

Visited store about 4 times, looking for sofa could not make up my mind, but each time we were greeted warmly by Wayne & the rest of the team at York. We ere not made to feel like time wasters eventually ordered a perfect sofa, Wayne was so helpful all the way through no pressure sales. Excellent service.

After experiencing several problems with our first order for our new suite we then encountered the extremely helpful gentleman called Lee who went above and beyond to help us resolve the problems that we first encountered. Lee’s product knowledge and professionalism has now reassured us that we are now in good hands and are being well informed on the progress of our new suite and so look forward to being relaxed and comfortable on our new purchase .

Was informed of the delivery on the evening before and the morning of delivery. Excellent work by Melvyn and Andy who had phoned with a more accurate delivery time. They were on time friendly ,very helpful and explained how to use the furniture and checked it all before leaving . Great workers.

Mervyn & Andy are a credit to your company, nothing was too much trouble even having to wait until we took a window out in order to get the settee in!!

Brought a sofa from Wayne, he was really knowledgeable and friendly. He made us feel at ease giving us space to try the sofas but also being close at hand if we had any questions. My partner and I felt he listened and tailored his sales style to us and wasn’t at all pushy- which as northerners we really appreciate.

We were kept up to date right up to date one hour before delivery, The guys were polite, professional and overall took the greatest care with our new sofa. Very knowledgeable and informative about going forward.

I have had a truly awful experience with ScS from the very beginning. I purchased a reclining chair after being explicitly told by sales staff at the York branch that it could be dismantled and reassembled in the room of my choice—but it was completely false.

On delivery day, the team arrived, immediately began taking photos (I have my own photos as proof), and tried to force the fully packaged chair through a standard-width UK door—no obstructions—causing damage to the packaging and potentially the chair itself. Realising it wouldn't fit, they took the chair away and told me I’d get a call about a refund.

When I was contacted by Andrea, the store manager at York, she was completely unsympathetic and dismissive, more interested in sales than any form of aftercare or support. She even lied, claiming the delivery team didn’t take photos. Luckily, I had my own and sent them to her directly via email—she didn’t expect that!

Despite requesting a refund and sending a formal complaint letter to head office, I received no reply or even an acknowledgment by them.

A few days later, the deputy manager at York called. He said the chair could be fully reclined and then lifted in that position to fit through the door—a dangerous and completely inappropriate suggestion. Chairs like this are not designed to be moved while fully reclined, especially not when they weigh over 60kg. It could damage the motor and mechanism and my property. I measured again—still wouldn’t fit. He then told me Andrea was the only one authorised to issue a refund, and she would call me within two days. That call never came either.

I have sent further complaint emails to both the store and head office, and again, I’ve received no acknowledgment or response.

I’ve completely lost confidence in ScS due to their lack of professionalism, misleading information, and failure to respond. I feel I was mis-sold a product, and I just want my money back so I can move on.

I will never use this company again.
If you're thinking of buying from ScS, don’t trust what the salesperson says. If they claim something can be dismantled—ask them to show you in-store. Measure your access routes carefully and video record the delivery if possible, for evidence.

This company is diabolical, and their customer service is non-existent.

My impression is sell, sell, sell but when something goes wrong with delivery, deliver the product by hook or by crook. a 'dump and run' attitude, with no aftersales skills whats so ever.

We went into the scs last week to have a look for our first sofa for our first home and the person helping up gave us a lot of helpful information to help choose the right one for us. Today we met Rob and Andrea for our appointment who where absolutely fantastic, helped us through the hole process and they were so friendly. Would highly recommend going to scs for your next sofa purchase.

We saw a lot of bad reviews on scs reviews but ours was all good , ordered sofa 20th March, got text last week for delivery on 18th June,got an early morning text for delivery today , then a phone call to say delivery will be in about 1 hour , sure enough 2 friendly lads removed all packaging , put feet on sofa & put it where we asked , 😀 we ordered at york store , very helpful Robert ( Rob) well done scs 👍👍

Really great service from SCS very professional friendly smiley delivery guys Josh and Harry took all the packaging off fixed the legs on and made sure all was ok, we can’t thank them enough! Best sofa delivery we’ve ever had!! 10/10

After the poor salesman's skills, bragging about how much coffee he drinks from the free machine whilst he sits on the sofa we're buying & leaves me standing up... The sofa was delivered on 12th April, wasn't put together just left in the packaging. I've since been advised by SCS almost 6 weeks later as they dont reply that it should have been put together. I'll get back to you she said, 14 days later still nothing!! The sofa is marked with some sort of lacquer. A technician isn't available for another 2 weeks, we've had the sofa 2 months now... When will I hear about the delivery team not setting the sofa up ? Can you send me a complaints email? It seems no one replies to the email im using

Just came for a look and ended up with the sofa of my dreams and the assistant Wayne helped us all the way to get the right colours and fabric we needed so happy we popped in

Popped in to view sofa’s. Not 100% committed to buying yet but we delt with Andrea M @ york and she was a breeze to deal with, we will be back shortly to purchase and will be using her soley

Lee was amazing friendly polite and extremely helpful went in the previous week to choose a sofa chairs etc no pressure to buy gave us lots of options to think about came home did some measurements returned last weekend and he had remembered all we told him talked us through the insurance available which we took and explained the delivery process cant speak to highly the customer service we received well done Lee and thank you

Really good experience. Lee made us very welcome when we entered the store, there was no hard sell just helpful advice. When we returned to the store to purchase Andrea handled our sale and was really helpful. All in all it was a great buying experience and would highly recommend.

Visited many sofa stores in the area on a recon mission a week before and found the sofa we wanted there, George was helpful and very knowledgeable about the sofas and we didn't feel pressured to buy on our first visit. Came back the next week and and George greeted us again remembering which sofa we wanted and helped us through the process of choices. George is a credit to the store and with his friendly customer service and relaxed sales technique

The whole experience was very positive The salesman was friendly,very well informed and answered all our questions. The suite arrived on time and the 2 delivery men were polite, friendly and efficient

Went into the Clifton moor store in York to look for some new chairs and Lee was excellent he listened to what we wanted and offered us some great advice and recommendations without been pushy.
