Great holiday. Hotel was good, excursions were brilliant (didn't go to Veurne due to illness). Drivers were excellent - very friendly and helpful. All in all, a brilliant holiday.

Poor service, condescending coach crew, far too familiar. No on board drinks service, at least we were never offered. Excellent accommodation and restaurant food, but no dinner choice other than vegetarian option. Five free drinks included is a good deal, however the (common in Belgium and The Netherlands) system of waiting for a waiter to take your drinks order from your table ( you cannot order directly at the bar) is ponderous at best. I counted 104 persons seated in the bar/restaurant area with three staff waiting. Do yourself a favour, and when your dinner sitting is over and everyone hits the bar at the same time, take a short walk over the tram lines onto the promenade and choose one of the multitudinous bars/cafes to sit and have a drink at whilst catching the last of the sunset. The included excursion to Bruges is well worth doing, Veurne not so much. Ostend is a great base to see more of Belgium by train -station about 15 minutes stroll from the hotel. Pensioners rates are good and tickets can be bought from multiple machines and English language can be selected. I won't do this trip again, as a paying hotel guest and seasoned Shearings traveler, I expect to be treated with a measure of dignity and respect, and not as if we were on a school outing.

Interesting tour, loved Ostend, loved Bruges, the trip to the Market in Verne did not quite go to plan but we did enjoy the trip to Ypres instead.

Tour was excellent as was the Hotel Royal Astrid. However the two drivers were not! No hot chocolate on board for drinks and they didn’t know the route into one town and no idea in Bruges where to take us. Also one lady fell in dining room and they couldn’t be bothered to gt up from their meal to help her. Also poor communication on departure times. No good enough

Good holiday break but partly spoilt by drivers who made mistakes.We had a nearly two hour delay due to a weight restriction on a bridge which eventually we crossed and telling us to go to breakfast at a earlier time without telling the hotel.Belgium architecture superb and Ypres a haunting experience

Driver was exceptional. Hotel was very nice one or two minor details with the hotel that mainly the one that we could not choose what we ate in the evening.

The hotel was only average. No choice for dinner- just one item on the menu. And only one veg with it. The rooms had no tea or coffee making facilities. The coach computer broke down twice and we missed out on the chocolate factory visit during our return journey which we all were looking forward to and so no one had bought chocolate beforehand.

A wonderful hotel, the only disappointing part of the holiday was Irish Ferries, very expensive food - and they do not even serve Guiness! The tours were excellent and the driver and courier very pleasant and helpful.

Travel well organised, pleasant experience. Booked a twin room as I was sharing with adult son. Unfortunately, room was a double and hotel staff said they were full and couldn’t change room! Hotel breakfast good but evening meal disappointing as no choice. Good job there was a salad bar for those who didn’t like the food. Drinks vouchers good, could spend on soft drinks, beer or house wine. A lot of walking on trips so probs not suited to some. Enjoyed Ostend, Brugge, Veurne a little small but pleasant. Met some lovely people on trip.

I wouldn’t travel with Shearings again on the return journey on the feeder coach the 2 drivers were extremely rude and gave us wrong information I have already given coach no. Etc on Shearings review

Everything abiut the holiday and places we visited was lovely. The only issue was the food at the hotel, it was very difficult for anybody to have an alternative to their set menu. I am gluten free so breakfast was difficult but luckily I had taken my own bread and crackers to eat.

great holiday. interesting places. bus was very good. the two drivers did great job. hotel was pretty good and evening meals were good. There was no tea/coffee making facility in hotel room. this would have been really good to have. most hotels these days have that.
