Simply one of the worst companies. Not only grossly overpriced but an absolute con job of terms and conditions. 3 years to get a refund, no direct customer service, unanswered emails and just a total lack of professionalism all round.

The overall feel when you are there is ok. This year will be the last event I’ll go to of Showmasters. Paid to have a photo with a celebrity as he is the main character for the show that I absolutely love.

Unfortunately it seems like he double booked himself for that day and had limited time for photos. Even though he was there the following day, I was unable to attend to get the photo as it will cost me another £50+ for a return train ticket.

Staff was trying their best with little information or nets to no help on how to deal with it all.

The queuing system they had in place for photos was an absolute shambles. The organisers need to sort it out. This isn’t the first time it’s happened.

I heard that it was absolutely chaos and absolute shambles when Joseph Quinn was there.

I attended the Cardiff event to have a photo with a different celebrity and the queuing system there was a shamble. Guest didn’t know where the front of the queue was let alone the end of it. When asking staff, they were not sure.

I had no problem getting a refund on my photo session ticket.

The events themselves are exciting, with plenty of stalls and other features, and being able to get disabled access on the day is a huge plus, but it's hard to rate the events any higher, due to several long term issues that have still not been addressed.

Firstly, the events are frequently oversold, which causes chaos around the photo areas, with paying customers often turned away, and the majority of staff being ill equipped to help or cope.

Another major issue is the complete lack of seating.. it would be a simple matter to provide a few dozen or more chairs along the walls of the venue, but convention goers are left to sit on the floor in most cases, which obviously is not ideal for anyone, much less those less capable.

Another problem was the entrance at the Winter event, located a 5-10 minute walk around the building, while also dodging traffic, which again is not ideal for those who have disabilities or older visitors.

I feel the majority of these problems could be easily addressed, but seem to continually go ignored so long as there's money to be made.

The event at London Olympia was terrible.
Comic con spring is a complete joke, literally, LITERALLY, nothing to do. Not a single thing to do, it's just stands of items you can buy and autograph people you can pay for.
What was my £25 entry ticket for??
Every single stand, item and thing to do costs more and is by third parties. Complete waste of money and will never return again. MCM is much much better!

After placing a pre order for a autograph of Ian mcdiarmid about a month before the show on the 11 November 2023, I now get and email on the 19th December saying my order is cancelled due to not having enough stock. How is that possible when its a Pre Order. This was supposed to be a xmas gift which has now royally screwed me over.

Ordered a signed photo for £115 from their online shop as I couldn't make the comic con.
The print came damaged, with creases all over and a fold up the middle of it.

I also paid extra to have the character name and a quote on it. It didn't have this. It was also written in a different colour to my request.

Traded at Bournemouth September 23 and it was a complete shambles, sold a pitch for extortionate money and packed in so tightly the other traders either side had to literally crawl over us to get out, this was a serious health & safety/Fire issue, also for some reason the event was only about 30% the size it was portrayed to be and all cramped into one hall with 2 rows of traders, there was absolutely nothing to do for attendees and felt really sorry for them paying to get in to what was basically a glorified indoor bootsale, had people complaining to me about the event and apologised on Showmasters behalf, not sure why when we were treated equally as bad.
At one point on Sunday when it was so empty cosplayers were so bored they were running around the empty hall playing catch me, not one of the showmasters staff stopped them even though they could have fell into someones stand and injured themselves let alone anyone else.
On the Saturday the heat was incredible and no air conditioning was turned on even though many traders asked a member of the SM team, again I had people at my stand complaining. SM really do not care about visitors or attendees. Trade with these guys at your peril and if you attend, very best of luck.
I have complained to them but on deaf ears so now compiling letters to relevant authorities such as H&S, Fire and trading standards to make them aware of what happened at this event.
Absolute shambles and not good enough by a long way.....

I spent £58 on tickets to their London Film and Comic Con event because they were collaborating with Brick Festival and creating a Brick Zone. I only bought the tickets so I could try and find a Lego set I've been looking for.

However, they company pulled the Lego event from the London Film and Comic Con and create a separate event for the Brick Festival. And they've scrubbed any mention of the joint event from their website. Unfortunately, I can't post links or screenshots here.

I have no reason to go now to this event after the bait and switch, but they won't refund me and they have been extremely rude about it
