Was sent an email inviting me to sign up for "unlimited gym, swim and classes". Signed up. Tried to book open water swimming at Surrey Docks. Told I need to pay £9 extra a go, same as non members. How is that unlimited swimming? Now trying to get my money back.

They are a bunch of crooks.

Try to cancel with them is near impossible, no one picks up the phone and when you use there contact us on the website no one gets back to you but they keep charging you.

Camberwell Leisure Centre is a really welcoming place. The staff are friendly and helpful.
Requests and suggestions are heard and when possible, taken on board, although it may take the cogs of the organisation time to implement change.
The building is grade two listed. The pool is the original Camberwell Public Baths, it has a long skylight above and a balustraded viewing balcony. It's a fabulous place to swim.

Do not take your children to this centre if they need to use the changing facilities or the toilets, they allow men to use the womens and girls changing rooms and toilets. A lady got banned from the leisure centre because she complained about it.
Absolutely disgusting place!

Quite the most incompetent front desk staff I have ever encountered. Nobody knows the membership rules or how tech works.

Fitness class dumbbells are horrific. I can’t do whole of class with them. Triangular handles are causing injuries to my hands. Other members of the gym are finding them uncomfortable too. I spoke to the staff members about it but they said that management was told about the issue but will not do anything about it. Someone from health and safety needs to get involved and order their replacement.

They cancel kids’ swimming lessons at Camberwell with incredibly short notice without even phoning, emailing or texting. Very frustrating if you’ve got a kid ready, traipsed down and then got them ready for the pool, only to be told swimming is cancelled. Managers then tell you there was nothing they could do. Perhaps they could have picked up the phone and warned parents not to bother coming? Or arrange a replacement to cover? Hopeless. And the cubicles in the family area are always full of clothes because the baths don’t take any action to get people to use lockers. They’ve taken out the cafe as well which is annoying.

I met the most nicest and friendly person at the leisure centre today who went far and beyond here duties(2 pensioners,) we were after registering a free swim.Even after the registration was completed she was very concerned of our welfare please can someone pass on my feed back to this person who was on the desk today.Kind regards Christina and John

Last year, I would go to one of my 3 local gyms every day but I got very bored and lost my motivation, especially since they changed the machines. They called it an upgrade but really the new machines are for body building men and they removed the stretching/work-out area. There is nothing for women now, even less for the so-called Silver members. So I stopped going. I think I've been 3x in the past few months and don't know why I pay membership. I'm hoping when the new centre in Canada Water opens it will inject some positive and friendly energy for the community. Today I finally made it to one of the gyms only to discover my membership has been cancelled and nobody knows why or how, so am sorting that out now.

Be careful with this gym!

They did refurnished the gym but the majority of equipment needed for beginners is lost. They will lie to you so you dont cancel your memebership before the 17th so you have to pay a extra month. Team doesnt have a clue of anything that is happening, even the managment doesnt have a clue of the gym equipment. They told me DB from 1-10 kg will arrived in a week and now that is after the 17th of November, they told me another 3 weeks to wait. Thry will make everything so difficult for you to quit like sending you the wrong email to cancel the membership so you have to ask again or wait three-four days for a reply. Honestly the worst experience i have ever had in a gym. Please safe you money as the gym is not worth it and there are other gyms around the same price with way better workers and gym equipment.

Today was my first day (and second for the gym after the reopening after the refurbishment) after a month of waiting.
While the new gym is now good looking, half of the machines types have been removed, like (if you check for example the name in google or Technogym you will find it):
-Excite Vario (this one was very useful for the legs, and way better than the current one in the gym)
-Artis climb (Another one very useful)
-Line Adductor
-Selection Line Lower Back
-Exercise ball used for abs
-Abdominal Bench Pure Strength
There are probably more equipment that got removed that I don't remember at the moment.

Also, it has been removed the wide space from the back of the gym that was used from many people for stretching or other activities, and this space is now nearby the entrance (way far a smaller space compared to what it was before), in front of all the people that are in the treadmill or other machines.

The feeling sent by the gym right now, is that it is a place thought more for body builder instead for regular people that are trying to lose those extra weight. In fact, as mentioned before within the list of missing machines types, the gym is not thought anymore for cardio, but more for building muscles.

Not less important, it seems that the quantity of the machines is less than before.

Really clunky booking procedures, rude staff.

I really need Bubbles because it helps improve my health ,especially It helps improve in nerves, Muscle cramps ,back, knees,and Waist pains Capel Tunel Sydrome , swollen feet, And Diabetes .
Please don't stop it , I really need Bubbles.

I'm delighted with my membership at the camberwell leisure centre. I've reduced my blood sugar, lost weight and got stronger. I've also made new friends. A bargain!! Thank you so much.

Do the staff smoke weed?

I should start by saying that the staff, classes and facilities at Dulwich Leisure Centre are really great. I know there have been teething problems in relation to the handover from Everyone Active. That said, I have had repeated problems with setting up direct debits, and my memberships ending, as a result of the direct debit plan I was told I had, not actually existing. Mostly, I think this is to do with some staff not being aware that silver memberships plans do not seem to have a direct debit option. The SL app is also problematic for purchasing new membership plans and you can end up purchasing a plan without realising it, as the payment process can hang. I hope that the back office processes for taking payments can be improved, so that they are as good as the staff, classes, etc.
