SPAIN-HOLIDAY & BOOKIPLY CAN NOT BE TRUSTED!

What should be noted with interest by all hosts is that BOOKIPLY as with SPAIN-HOLIDAY have wilfully removed their telephone contact numbers from their websites, making it absolutely impossible for holiday rental owners to make any contact with any of these companies in the event of a dispute about YOUR owners payments or property listing. PATHETIC!

They had also stated:
"At Bookiply, we defend the interests of homeowners first and foremost."

This is not trustworthy as the evidence of other "honest" owner reviews on this platform clearly suggest that this is most certainly not the case.

Bookiply had also stated:
"We are proud to be offering homeowners the most favourable payout terms - as a Bookiply host, you receive a full payout before your guests check in".

Brilliant or deceptive? You decide!
The most favourable payout terms are for the owners to receive their payments immediately upon a guest making payment to the travel sites. It is the owners money after all.

What should be noted is that Bookiply "intentionally" does not specifically confirm that owners will be paid immediately upon receipt of guests payments and this needs to be clarified to all owners as there is no transparency offered by the company.

Bookiply had also stated:
"homeowners save up to 80% of time managing their listings"

In reality this amounts to gross misrepresentation for the simple reason that the migration will likely lead to owners having to spend well in excess of 100% in additional time and expense rectifying bookiply's and / or spain-holiday's errors & blunders for the simple reason that there are already too many chiefs and not enough Indians.

In this migration Bookiply is also likely to hold on to the owners damage security deposit. Receiving payment for any possible damage caused by guests to your prized rental nome is likely to be extremely problematic and time consuming.

Bookiply had also stated:
"Bookiply offers plenty of services to make your advert more competitive online".

The only way to make a homeowners listing more competitive is for owners to manage their own property listing and for guests to BOOK DIRECT and first hand with the owner without being cheated an additional guest booking fee or an additional owners service fee, which could increase the cost of any reservation by up to 25%.

DO NOT LIST OR BOOK ON BOOKIPLY OR SPAIN-HOLIDAY.

Home owner beware This is no longer the Spain -Holiday we know and love.

You will never get the Best Price here. The Best Price will always be direct with the owner.

I am sure you will have discovered Spain-Holiday has been taken over by the aggressive startup company BOOKIPLY: (A German price comparison site) and they are attempting to turn it into an instant-booking sausage factory in which you will become just another disenfranchised listing. They hold booking deposits and all payments for unlimited time periods, i.e. after arrival date, which could be even a year in advance. They banish communications between owners and renters before any bookings are made. They have ruined one of the best and last, of the great rental websites offering free and open communications between renters and owners. Did we not already have enough with the likes of Tripadisor, AirBnb, Booking.com, Vrbo etc? Unbelievably BOOKIPLY are attempting to insert themselves between you the owner and AirBnb, Booking.com, Vrbo etc and you the renter. So now there will be extra layer of cost and confusion added to rental transactions. Oh and you are not permitted to have a contract because BOOKIPLY policy prevents it!!!! Now renters can look forward to having their questions answered by an algorithm instead of an owner who knows their house and the location with first hand experience. All for the sake of unprotected instant bookings. Get ready to have your home trashed by an invasion of young party goers and brace yourself against the specter of charge back finance and large hike in pricing to cover for this superfluous middleman.

The World's Worst Website!

We booked an apartment and were all set to go, flights booked, etc. A few days later we received an email to say our booking was cancelled and we were due a refund; we received our money but they tried to shortchange us! We made many attempts to contact them but they seemed to be ignoring our emails and messages giving no reason as to why they even cancelled in the first place, a horrendous experience!!!

Villa rental company

As an Villa rental company, we advertise our Villas across a number of platforms. I can honestly say that Spain-holiday outperforms all of them.
Easy to use. Good support and very helpful.
Would be happy to recommend.

Spain-Holiday.com - a great site

I have been using Spain Holidays for many years to market a villa in Andalucia. The site is easy to use and very well managed and yields lots of good rentals. In all my dealings with those working at Spain Holidays I have been impressed with how knowledgeable and helpful they are. A far better site from the standpoint of the owner and the renter than others out there.

Spain-holiday is second to none…

We have been working on and off with many portals for years and the truth is that the service provided by Spain-holiday is second to none which is why we are still working with them nearly a decade later. They genuinely care about their clients and offer a real human approach which is really appreciated.

excellent service

We love to work with spain-holiday! We have different holidayhouses on their websites and we can see clearly an increased occupancy! Also the support is excellent. Spain-Holiday are much my preferred…

Spain-Holiday are much my preferred choice for advertising my villa rental.
I have tried Airbnb - Home Away - Booking.com etc - all the big ones.
I never had a good experience with any of them but with Spain-Holiday I have always been very happy. I have worked with them since 2007 and find them courteous and knowledgable on all aspects of the business. They have great ideas which help to maximise my income, great customer service and best of all I know I can trust them.

Ruthless villa owner and no support from Spain-holidays

We have booked with this particular owner 3 times previously and we always got the full deposit back as we are respectful of the properties. We are a group of friends who go on holiday together once a year.

Unfortunately due to the current global situation and the UK government guidelines about not traveling to Spain without quarantining on return, which isn't financially possible for us as a group to do, we had no choice but to cancel.

I would have expected both Spain-Holidays and the villa owner, Marco, to be more flexible with the booking conditions, but no, we paid £750 deposit, suppose to get this returned after the holiday and then paid half the villa cost, 1600 Euros. Marco refused to pay us anything back when we advised we couldn't travel and says he will take the loss.....take the loss, he has taken over £2250 of our money for nothing and doesn't even have the decency to refund us the £750 deposit and he actually expected us to pay the final £1700 also even though we weren't going.

It is shocking, originally he was going to move the holiday to April 2021, so we paid to change all our flights to that date but then when we asked a question about the difference in costs between Oct and Apr, Marco replied to our question about the cost difference being completely erratic and unreasonable saying we could no longer go in April 2021 and he isn't refunding us any money and he has banned us from booking any of his villas again. I find this completely unprofessional and also morally wrong.

We are all working class people and work hard for our holidays and for him to keep that amount of money from us is just unjust as these issues are beyond our control. We understand it is also his business but in this time everyone needs to be flexible with their cancellation policy.

I understand everyone is struggling but to keep £2200 pounds of peoples hard earned cash that is saved for a yearly holiday is absolutely appalling.

I have emailed Spain-Holiday twice and they take no responsibility and say it is all down to the owner . As another reviewer has mentioned, this website only care about the villa owners and not the customers.

A note for Spain-Holidays and Marco Perotti, an example of great customer service is Air BnB. We had to cancel a booking earlier in the year due to COVID 19 and they completely understood that is it not the customers fault and they spoke with the owner of the property and they both agreed to refund us the full payment we had made. That is what you call great customer service and you both should take note because word of mouth and reviews show people how you treat your customers.

I would be very wary of booking a property through Spain-Holiday.com and also any of Marco's villa's in the current climate as they are unapologetically ruthless and only interested in the money for themselves. If you ask a question he doesn't like, he blocks your number and bans you, I wonder if he would act like this to peoples faces but is a keyboard warrior with no heart.

this is your second review on our company profile about the same booking. According to the guidelines of Trustpilot, several reviews can be written if you have had several experiences, which is not the case here. In any case, we reply you once more that we apologize for the situation you had to deal with and repeat that Marco Perotti is an owner dealing with the bookings himself.
Spain-Holiday.com acts as an advertising portal, we don't decide the owner's cancellation policies. We do care for guests and have encouraged all our owners to be flexible in their cancellation policies this year (or as long as the pandemic is with us), but not everyone is, and it is the guest who sees the cancellation policy upon booking and decides whether to book or not.
You have booked with him on 3 previous occasions, so you knew him personally and took this booking directly with him on 12 April 2020 where he clearly informs you about the non-refundable 750€ to be paid for your booking of 3-13 October.
On the 20th of September you decide to travel anyways, as you didn't want to lose the deposit, but then on the 21st you decide against travelling and you emailed Marco to say you accept your loss.
We are very sorry that you could not travel, but the holiday home is available and flights are available to Spain. The owners cannot be held responsible for the rules of your government. For this kind of cancellation, we hope that your travel insurance can cover the loss of the non refundable reservation fee.

Very good experience

We had a very good experience with Spain Holiday, both their service finding the right appartment and the appartment itself (appartment no 12161).
Everything was as promised in the description in the website.

When we arrived there were a small thing with a door handle and that was swiftly repaired by the owner.
We definitely plan to come back.

Spain-holiday.com is first rate. I am a property owner doing business with them for 2 or 3 years. They are efficient and super ethical. I see there are some reviews from disappointed people annoyed that COVID left them with losses. I sympathise, I have been a big loser myself but it is sometimes the case that there is someone to blame for every problem. As a property owner, getting listed on the Spain-holiday site requires you to go through a number of serious security checks. It's necessary to prove ownership of your property and demonstrate that the property is correctly registered as a holiday let with the regional government in Andalucia. These checks are the most stringent of any holiday rental property website I have come across.

Scam, fraudsters beware!!!

I have booked holidays before COVID 19 in January.
The country went under lockdown, and airlines stopped operating. The owner refused to refund as he said due to companies policy he will not refund the booking as it is our problem for not travelling. Are you serious?! Do not trust the company! Its a pandemic, the government, doesn't allow to go and the airline is not flying to your destination, do I walk?

This holiday home is advertised by the owner directly and we don’t decide his Cancellation policy. We have on numerous times contacted all our advertisers this year and recommended them to be flexible, and refund or rebook as much as possible. Unfortunately not everyone could be and has also suffered many losses due to all the cancellations. In your case, your travel dates were out of lockdown and the holiday home was available for you to come to. For this reason, the owner had recommended you to contact your travel insurance as he could not refund the non refundable deposit and also lose the balance due to the cancellation.
We are very sorry about this situation and recommend you to always book something with a travel insurance and/or refundable cancellation policy.

Be CAUTIOUS of the HUGE cancellation fee from Spain-Holiday.com

We booked a trip in September 2019 for a 2 week rental in Costa Brava for July 2020, through Spain-Holiday.com. When our daughter's doctor told us in April 2020 she could not travel for the remainder of the year, we contacted Spain-Holiday.com and advised them of the regret we had but we had to cancel. They took $935.02 US from us as the cancellation fee. I was stunned. I knew they required 25% fee for cancelling, but I did not realize it would be 25% of the entire fee, I thought it would be from the deposit we made. Their contract is not clear about this. They refused to work with us and told us to contact the owner, which we did, but he'd already been given our $935.02 US cancellation fee, so he/she never responded. This was for property ID 72037 - Villa Martina, Santa Maria de Llorel.

Be very cautious of the HUGE cancellation fee from this company.

we are sorry to read your review, but the conditions upon booking are very clear:
"No refund if cancelled less than 8 weeks before check-in.
75% refund of the full price if cancelled 8 weeks before check-in"
You had only paid 25% of the full price upon booking, and this is never refundable according to the cancellation terms of the selected holiday home.
There are other homes with a more flexible cancellation policy where the security deposit is refundable when cancelling more than 8 or 4 weeks before check-in, but yours was not one of them I'm afraid.
Apart from being visible on the advert and upon booking, our Customer Service team is open 7 days out of 7 to reply any questions regarding the terms and conditions prior to booking.
