Previously used linode, digital ocean and vultr and have used ssdnodes for the last few years for a few servers. Prices are excellent and service has been great, minus one hiccup with a new server when they started offering nvme drives (where they lost all the data on a server which was thankfully not setup yet). At times somewhat slow response times to support tickets, but all in all they are great, service is reliable, and it seems like they continue to get better. There are no frills, so you have to have your own monitoring, your own backups, etc., so if you know how to do that and need some servers, they are an excellent choice.

Servers can be pretty cheap if you don't need any scaling/support.

I used SSD nodes services for years (3+ now) and they always responded quickly to our inquiry.

When downtime happened (only once) they were transparent in the reason and the steps that are taken to fix the issue.

Does everything I need it to do for simple self hosted projects/websotes and running a personal OpenVPN instance and self-hosting password managers at a great competitive cost.

A+ servers for speed like the extremely fast NVMe servers. Would be nice to get dedicated discount servers from them if they were to offer them in the future. Hope to see the ability to internal link servers together on a super fast connection, like 1 server with a database and it talks directly to another for backup or as a frontend server. Intranet that is. Other than that, love these guys for their servers and service.

You can't beat their prices. I wouldn't use them for an enterprise project due to somewhat lacking hardware and very occasional sporadic down-time, but I'd definitely recommend them for hobbyists and the like.

Used SSDNodes for a year, worked great, no issues at all.
The offer was for a year with 16GB of ram on decent machine, much cheaper than digitalocean / vultr and etc.

Good Host, Only minor thing which made me remove a star is the new Virtual Servers seem to be having some issues and goes down every here and there within a day or two.Other than that they are a great company to host with, been with them for years.

Superb service and better infrastructure and options.

I have been a user of SSDNodes for over three years now, and I have enjoyed their affordable VPS offerings for web and game server hosting. They are extremely responsive to support tickets, have excellent uptime, and to me offer the best value in terms of performance per dollar, especially compared to some of the larger hosting providers. I have used AWS, GCP, and Digital Ocean for smaller side projects I want to stage, but I eventually send apps to production on SSDNodes both for the excellent performance and discounts on long-term plans.

Certainly, it is getting more and more difficult to differentiate vps providers from each other, but from extended experience with SSDNodes, I can certainly vouch for them as a company.

I decided to try out SSD Nodes when I realised I was too reliant on a single VPS supplier and was looking for an alternative host.

Although we weren't primarily price led in our search, SSD nodes had a great introductory offer on and I thought I'd setup an account and try them out. So far I've been really impressed by everything - the signup speed, the setup speed and the documentation and support too.

I'd recommend trying them out.

I have been a SSDnodes client for a few years now and keep coming back when I need a vps unit. There have been some growing pains (looking at your containers and forced firewalls), but nothing that the team was not able to overcome with different solutions. Having used DO, Vultr, Linode, and a few other smaller providers I find no reason to go back them for long term servers. I still use them for quick one off testing of things where they hourly pricing. I recently upgraded to the NVME offering in NYC which is blazing fast. I still have servers in Dallas, Montreal and no plans to drop them anytime soon.

I only ranked them 4 of 5 for some support issues. Sometimes support is a little slow in understanding the issues at hand. I have never found them not to ultimately not resolve the issue, just takes sometimes longer then I personally desire. As their support increases in skill I could easily give them a full 5 stars.

I've been using their service for a year now and I've never had a single issue. Their customer support even helped me set up my domain name in the beginning. If you need a solid VPS then you can't do any better.

Generally stable, and fast ticket response. If they can offer 1 yr price as same as 3 yrs, will be better.

After more than a decade of using managed hosting, I finally was tempted to try out a VPS, thanks to the very affordable SSD Nodes offers. There is a learning curve, for sure, but I found that the server has been blazingly fast, and their support docs help a lot in working out how to run a healthy server. Definitely recommended as an entry point to trying out self-manged VPS hosting.

With SSDNodes you get excellent value for money.
I use my VPS for hosting docker containers and they run for over two years with never having a problem.
I have also used some local (Netherlands) VPS providers which were more expensive, but every now and then I had to restart some of my containers or even the entire VPS because they were frozen.

Excellent service

I use one SSD nodes server on a daily basis to write code using VS Code and its excellent remote ssh development extension, so that i can code from anywhere, getting back to my remote dev environment (a powerful standard+ kvm/vps with 16 GB of ram with full docker support, for a portion of the price i would have to pay everywhere else) from any computer able to run VS Code.

I had the occasion to contact the support service (to move a service from the Montreal location to the European location when they made that available): problem solved the same day ! Fast and accurate.

I recommend SSD Nodes, with no reserve !

Great experience with SSDNodes, and great prices! Ticket responses are a little slow taking several hours, but always resolved.
