⭐ 1 STAR
⭐ 1 STAR – ONE OF THE MOST FRUSTRATING SCHOOL UNIFORM EXPERIENCES
I ordered school uniform from Stitch & Design and, despite waiting for OVER 15 WORKING DAYS, I am still waiting for my order. This is completely unacceptable, especially for a school uniform company at the beginning of the school year when parents are relying on them to provide uniforms on time.
What makes this even worse is the absolutely terrible customer service. Trying to get hold of someone is incredibly difficult. You can spend ages trying to contact them, and when you finally do manage to speak to someone, the information you are given is, in my experience, unreliable and does not match what actually happens. I have been given information about my order that has turned out to be incorrect, leaving me constantly chasing them for answers.
This is not how a professional company should operate.
Parents should NOT have to repeatedly chase a company for an order they have already paid for. If there is a genuine delay, just be honest with customers. Give a realistic delivery date and communicate properly. Instead, customers are left waiting, wondering where their order is and receiving information that they cannot depend on.
And then there is the PRICE.
For what they charge, I expected considerably better quality. Quite honestly, I do not see anything about the uniform that makes it worth paying such inflated prices. In my opinion, the quality is no better than what you can find in places such as ASDA or Sainsbury’s, yet the prices can be around THREE TIMES higher.
If you are going to charge parents a premium price, then you should provide premium-quality products AND premium customer service. Unfortunately, I have experienced neither.
What I find particularly frustrating is that schools are choosing companies like this and effectively putting parents in a position where they have little or no choice but to use them. Schools should be looking at the complete service provided by their uniform supplier — not simply choosing a company and expecting parents to accept poor service, long delays and high prices.
I will be taking this matter seriously with the school and raising my concerns about why Stitch & Design has been selected as the uniform supplier. I will also be asking the school to seriously consider whether there are better, more reliable and more reasonably priced alternatives available.
Parents work hard for their money. School uniform is already an expensive necessity, and families should not be forced to pay significantly more for a service that cannot even deliver orders within a reasonable timeframe.
This isn’t simply about one late order. It’s about the whole experience:
❌ Over 15 working days and still waiting
❌ Extremely difficult to contact customer service
❌ Poor communication
❌ Information provided that, in my experience, has been inaccurate
❌ Very expensive prices
❌ Quality that does not appear to justify the price
❌ Little confidence that customers are actually being treated as a priority
I strongly recommend that parents think carefully before ordering and compare the prices and quality with other retailers. And I strongly encourage schools using this supplier to listen to parents and review whether this company is genuinely providing the level of service expected from a school uniform provider.
For me, this has been an extremely disappointing experience. I expected a professional company that could provide a basic service — take an order, communicate properly and deliver it within a reasonable timeframe. Unfortunately, even that has proved to be a struggle.
I will NOT be recommending Stitch & Design based on my experience, and I will be pursuing my concerns with the school.
