After posting my review, Storage King reached out to me and refunded the additional £30.69 charge. I appreciate them taking the time to follow up and resolve the issue. While my experience started off frustrating, I’m glad they made the effort to correct it.

I was initially very disappointed with my experience at Storage King. I wasn’t told about extra charges in advance, and that lack of clear communication made me feel misled. After I raised my complaint, I was told the charges were due to vacating outside reception hours, even though I left on the date I had paid for.

That said, I appreciate that Storage King reviewed the case and agreed to credit my account, clearing the balance. I’m glad the issue was resolved, but this situation could have been avoided with better upfront information. I hope they improve their communication going forward.

I initially rented a storage unit for two months at a promotional rate. During the rental process, the staff assured me that I would only be charged for the days I used as long as I provided two weeks' notice for cancellation. After four weeks, I decided to cancel the rental as I no longer needed it. I promptly gave my two weeks' notice and cleared out the storage unit even before the notice period ended.

However, upon receiving the refund, I discovered that I was only refunded half of what I had paid for the month, as I had only used one week from the second month's rent. Despite reaching out via email, phone calls, and in-person visits to explain the situation, the branch's woman manager insisted that the amount refunded was correct. I mentioned that my wife, who had a larger unit than mine, was only charged £9 for the overrun days beyond her rental period. I questioned why I was charged around £10 a day for six days and not at the promotional rate (around £63 in total).

The manager explained that as I canceled the rental before the two-month rental period, they charged me the full price of the original rate. This explanation did not seem logical to me. When I called again and spoke to the other store manager, he said that I shouldn't even receive a refund as I canceled it before the promotional rent period ended. However, this was not mentioned to me during the sign-up process and was nowhere to be found in the contract I signed.

As I dealt with three different staff members from the same place and received three different answers for the same issue, I am disappointed with Storage King's service. I believe I was misled and unfairly charged by Storage King. I intend to escalate this issue to Trading Standards for investigation, as there seems to be ambiguity and lack of transparency in their operations, especially regarding promotional rental agreements. I suggest others beware and seek clear information before renting from this place.

Renting a storage box at King's storage oxford was an excellent experience. The building is clean and easily accessible (close to a bus stop), the staff was helpful and cordial, the service very professional. The shop at the reception has all you need (boxes in various sizes, padlocks, tape) to store your belongings. The price is very reasonable and access to the facility is granted through a personalised code.

A superbly run business where I felt totally confident putting my house contents into storage. I had one of the best ever customer service experiences with the Oxford team I have ever received, who made the whole process straightforward and stress-free. All three members of staff I dealt with were absolutely delightful, efficient, courteous and friendly and I felt in very safe hands. In addition the outfit is extremely well organised and spotlessly clean.

The person who I spoke to on the phone was very helpful and pleasant, the person who sorted out our move in was also very helpful and he kindly extended our move in access because we were unaware the access times had changed. The unit was clean and easily accessible. All good!

When signing the contract, the Storage King has not been clearly stating that access is no longer 24hrs. In the future any access after 5pm will be charged. This is something that was left out at signing the contract. I thought the terms and conditions were the same as the contract that I had with them. The manager at the Oxford Storage King was very rude on the phone.
