Store First — Avoid
Where do I start.
From the very first interaction with Michael English, the so-called Store Manager at Store First Linwood, the experience has been nothing short of appalling. Rude, aggressive, and completely unprofessional from day one. Not once has he conducted himself in a manner befitting someone in a management position serving paying customers.
When an outstanding balance was raised by a member of their team, I immediately requested an invoice so I could make payment. That invoice was never sent. Every other email from every other business reaches me without issue — Store First emails are the sole exception. Rather than acknowledge this, they applied late payment fees during the exact period their own team failed to invoice me after I specifically asked for one.
It gets worse. When my trailer was parked on site — as a paying customer — they threatened to remove it, then invented a £30 plus VAT daily parking charge out of thin air. When I asked for the contractual clause authorising this charge, they couldn’t provide one. Because it didn’t exist. They then admitted in writing that a contract had “now been put in place” — confirming there was no such contract when the charges were applied.
I raised a formal complaint about Michael’s conduct. Sarah Fretwell, the so-called Director, responded by dismissing it and refusing to investigate until I cleared a disputed balance. That is not how complaints are handled. That is how businesses avoid accountability.
The entire correspondence has been submitted to Trading Standards Scotland and Citizens Advice. I would strongly advise any business considering Store First to think twice. The staff are unprofessional, the charges are questionable, and the management is completely out of their depth.
Avoid.

Super Facility and Staff
I have recently completed a period of using the Glasgow (Linwood) storage site. From first booking the unit to checking out the Team made sure I was happy with the arrangements and regulations to be followed. I was initially shown to my unit personally. Nothing was a problem to the Staff and checking out by Kevin was smooth. I had no problem with accessibility to the unit day or night. I wouldn't hesitate to use this facility again.

Great Service
Liam was very welcoming and took our details, payment and showed us to our unit in a very professional and friendly manner.
The unit was extremely clean and easy to get to from the lift and there were plenty of trolleys for our use.

Easiest ever 5 stars!
Brilliant service start to finish from the Linwood branch. Initial enquiries answered quickly & all information relayed in clear no-nonsense manner.
Experience at the store equally as impressive, all staff I have encountered really friendly & efficient. (Special shout out to Ross & Liam for their patience late on a Sunday afternoon 👍) Paperwork process simple & again everything explained clearly.
The facility itself is top-notch, easy access to storage areas, good lift provision & plenty trolleys available. Units are well lit & spotless. 24 hour access available using the provided security fob is a major bonus so you're not restricted to access during office hours only.
Highly recommend.
