Panels do not produce what they promise -Looking into suing them
Solar panels have issues, we’ve been promised a call regarding our work order over and over and over and over again but NOTHING. Not a peep from them. Looked at the lease to see the terms and unfortunately we are locked in for another decade (previous owners installed them). We did, however, read that they promise a monthly power production of 550-650 kwh. The panels are not producing anywhere close to this. Since they have infuriated me by providing the worst customer service, I am going to look into suing them since they have been breaking the terms of the lease for the last few years at least (I have yet to check all the way back to when we took over from the previous homeowners). Current SunPower clients, I recommend you do the same. For those that are not, consider yourself lucky and go find a company that actually has morals and will value you; that won’t just take your money every month and not do a damn thing to help when the panels fail.

Crappy warranty service
The original installer of my SunPower system is no longer a distributor of SunPower products. After they diagnosed a bad inverter, they set up a claim with SunPower because the system is under warranty. This was back in April 2023. 2 plus months later I still have not had the inverter replaced. First excuse for a number of calls to their technical people was that a replacement inverter was not available. After todays call I was told that the original company contracted to do the replacement was no longer "available" to do the repair and a new company would have to be used. They could not give me a time frame as to when this would occur. I was promised a return call or email next week. I bet that that won't happen. Next stop is the Better Business Bureau.

Update to this. Called again ..."we will get back to your shortly" NO they don't! Solar still not working.
I am not sure how many times i will need to call and get the same answer before i have to harass the CEO...apparently my case is being assessed and someone will call me back...no one calls back.
Cannot get other companies to fix the problem because "they didnt install it" and the company that did install the system apparently cannot organize someone to come out.
Result is...my solar is still turned off and i'm sure from the error code the inverter has failed and will need replacement so am not pleased about having to pay out that cost to a company that has no interest in servicing its product in the first place.

DO NOT expect any service from SunPower…
Our Sunpower system failed in February 2023, I have been trying to work with them since March. They finally sent a tech team in May to confirm that the junction box (and therefore our system) was "fried" and were lucky that the house did not catch fire. We have been "escalated" to “level 3” and assigned an “executive support person,” in April from whom I actually received 1 telephone call, emails with lame excuses, deemed critical by the tech and now, heard nothing from our support person. We have been lied to, ghosted, given multiple case numbers and excuses as to why they can't come back and fix it any time soon...or maybe ever. The latest excuse is that they are "waiting for needed equipment" to rewire our system. Despite multiple calls and e-mails, I have heard nothing for over 3 weeks.
FOUR MONTHS of trying to get them to fix their products! The irony of course is that they have a major solar equipment facility about 30 miles from here. Evidently, junction boxes, wiring, fuses and maybe even an inverter are too scarce and exotic to even give us a date when we might get back on line.
So if you are considering SunPower equipment, DO NOT if you expect to find any customer service. The techs were fine but there are not enough of them capable of addressing problems in a timely manner...or maybe ever. This has been the worst customer service experience ever.

STILL no resolve for regulating
my correct SRECs yet STILL continue paying their monthly bill!
I had a call from Omnidian and a walk through to reset everything. NO HELP.
Process began in MARCH 2023 and now it is AUGUST with no corrections made.
I have TWO YEARS worth of SRECS I should be able to sell. My lifetime readings have gone in REVERSE!!
Explain that SUNPOWER!
I am beyond frustrated with Sunpower tech support!
I have been contacting them about my daily KWH incorrect readings since November 2022. After three months, I was told it is missing some historical data. It was sent to "NightVision" to be correcedt. On 3/07/ 2023, I was told it would be corrected by 4/28/2023. It is now 6/07 2023 and NOTHING has been fixed.
Every different customer service person I have spoken to can NEVER get a supervisor on the phone. Every time I ask to speak to Carlos Perez-the person from NightVision, supposedly-who is stating the fixing time to them, they always say there is no phone number in that dept and can not transfer me. SERIOUSLY?!
I strongly recommend looking elsewhere for solar.
After posting this ,I have received 3 emails from Sunpower. ALL the same pagkaged response but no contact from a representative stating this issue is resolved.

Sunpower - don't waste your money with them
Sunpower have a very qualified sales team but the project coordinators are the worst! They are unresponsive, persuade you to install before HOA approval and then ask for more money to correct their mistakes. When you send emails, they do not respond for several weeks and if you don't escalate and complain to a superior or another department, they would not answer you at all. I do not recommend you to close any deals with them.
Update: even the supervisor/manager is not very responsive.

Great Service
Had a great experience with our Sunpower install. Warren Grennan arrived on time, was kind and very knowledgeable. Can’t wait for our solar to save us some $$$!

Stay away! Good luck getting your solar fixed if it’s ever down!
Our solar hasn’t worked in months! We’ve been calling for months, requested service. Every time we call we are told we’ll receive a call from the scheduler within 5 business days. It NEVER happens! I’m so possessed! Why pay over 10K for a solar unit we can’t even use because these incompetent company won’t do their job and send a technician out! Maybe I should send my electric bills to sun power so they can take care of them. We’re exploring legal action at this point. I can NEVER recommend this company.

Took over solar lease when we purchased…
Took over solar lease when we purchased new home in 2021. First year was okay but last June 2022 our panels were not producing any power. One month later a rep came out and let us know that there were recalled parts that needed to be replaced. A month after that, workers came out to replace recalled parts. Still not producing any power. Contacted AES in October 2022, they came out and found all kinds of problems, exposed wires, panels not secure to the roof, one panel had a hole punctured thru it. Meanwhile Sunpower never has any problems taking their monthly payment. March 2023 they finally came out and replaced punctured panel and got us back on line. Our true up was $4200 for last yesr and have had to make a payment plan with our power company. It is really upsetting every month that I have to pay a $500 power bill when solar was supposed to save you money. Sunpower have not offered any relief or reimbursement for the power that was not produced for 8 months. STAY AWAY FROM SUNPOWER, THEY ARE A RIPOFF AND I WILL NEVER RECOMMEND THEM.

Good initial setup but terrible customer service
I initially had a good experience with intial setup, but after a power outage, I haven’t had any power generated for a week. I’ve called Sunpower 4 times, gotten promised either solutions or site visits, and have gotten none of it. I haven’t gotten any production for over a week. Think twice before working with this company.

When Sun Power representative wrote my contract, a critter guard was supposed to be included. When I didn't see it in the contract, I inquired. I was told it was not a line item in the contract. After solar installation, I inquired about installing critter guard. Now it's not part of the contract, and they say they have no way of accepting payment to install it. I have to hire an outside contractor to install. Not happy about that. I requested Sun Power to do the install since it was supposed to be part of the contract. I know they do install the critter guard because they installed it on my friend's house. Also, I only want one contact person in case any issues on my roof. I get about a month of runaround on that request. Again, I'm told they have no way to accept payment for the critter guard, that I have to hire an outside contractor. I am very disappointed that Sun Power cannot figure out how to accept payment on something that should have been included in the contract.

This company promised that I would be under the NEMS 2. I signed the contract on April 14, 2023. A month later I recently was told opps they were short manpower and didn't get my application in so I have to be under NEMS 3. This is false advertising. They think I should purchase a $10,000. battery!! There is no excuse for not getting a application in that was signed a month before the deadline. Someone from Sunpower needs to be accountible for this problem. I'm the customer and did what I was told and promised.

Dago, solar installation rep. the rep that a my solar…
Dago is the rep that activated my solar panels. My appointment was for 230pm, I needed the appointment a little sooner than 230pm. Although the Solar operator said there was no open slots earlier, the installation rep, Dago, was able to squeeze me in around noon. Nice guy. All he needed was my wifi info and he had the account up and running in 30 minutes. Give Dago a raise!!

The last contractor who came out to replace the two non working panels didn’t even bother yo tell me the replaced panels still aren’t working. DO NOT USE SUNPOWER!!!

SunPower did not want my business
I have a SunPower system that came with the house I purchased 3 years ago. The system works fine but I recently found out that SunPower never coordinated the owner change contract with Duke Energy and for the last 3 years I have not been connected to the grid so the electricity produced was wasted. SunPower was well aware of this requirement as they visited the house when I purchased it to verify that the system was operating and repaired the wi-fi monitoring issues. I recently contacted SunPower to add more panels and a battery backup to the existing system but they never showed up on the appointment day nor emailed me to cancel. When I contacted the sales consulate they refused to come to the house and wanted to do a zoom consult. That were not interested in physically measuring the roof nor looking at the home to determine where to install the battery equipment, etc. Never have a seen a company that would go out of their way not to have additional business, especially since it would have been a cash deal.
