Fun while we were allowed to race but spent almost two minutes standing still at one point. While the steward spoke to someone. Then the rest of the time on a flashing orange light! Very frustrating and unfortunately £50 to sit in a go kart isn’t great value

(BIKC), and the serious failures
My son’s participation in the British Indoor Karting Championship, and the serious failures and in competencies in communication, administration and customer care that have resulted in him being told, just two days before the regional finals, that he will no longer be able to compete.
My son qualified from the local finals at TeamSport West Acton on 14 September 2026, with the regional finals scheduled to take place at Farnborough on 10 October 2026.
Understandably, we were extremely proud of his achievement. He was excited about progressing to the next stage and had every reason to believe that he had successfully qualified.
In preparation, I booked him into a practice session at Farnborough on 19 September 2026, as an intermediate driver. The sole purpose of this booking was to allow him to familiarise himself with the Farnborough circuit ahead of the regional finals.
However, after travelling approximately 60 miles and arriving at Farnborough at approximately 8:30am on a Sunday, we were told by TeamSport staff that, because he was attending Farnborough for BIKC practice, he could not race there as an intermediate driver.
This immediately raises a fundamental question:
Why was I permitted to make this booking in the first place if TeamSport's systems or rules meant that he was not eligible to participate in intermediate?
There was absolutely no reason for us to make a 60-mile journey and arrive at the circuit before discovering this information. Had the restriction been communicated to me when making the booking, I would obviously have made alternative arrangements.
Despite this, I subsequently booked three further sessions at Farnborough as an advanced driver, specifically with the intention of preparing my son for the regional finals on 10 October.
At no point during this process was I told that there was an issue with his qualification or eligibility to participate in the regional finals.
We therefore continued to invest our time, money and effort on the entirely reasonable understanding that my son had qualified and would be competing.
Then, on the afternoon of 8 October 2026 — just two days before the regional finals — I received a telephone call informing me that my son had apparently not qualified for the regional finals it was an error and that I had been issued a refund. I find this wholly unacceptable.
If my son had not qualified, why was this not identified and communicated immediately following the local finals on 14 September?
Why was I allowed to book multiple practice sessions at Farnborough?
I spent additional money preparing him for a competition he was apparently not eligible to enter!
Why was this only identified and communicated to me on 8 October, immediately before the event?
These are not minor administrative discrepancies. Taken together, they demonstrate a serious failure of TeamSport's processes.
I want to make clear that this is not simply a dispute about a refund or the cost of karting sessions.
My son is autistic, and the emotional impact of this situation on him has been significant.
He had every reason to believe that he had qualified for the regional finals. He had been preparing for them, attending practice sessions and looking forward to competing. This was an achievement that meant a great deal to him.
Having to tell him, at the very last minute, that he would not be racing resulted in him being extremely distressed and caused him a great deal of harm and the trust he once had in TeamSport thinking they had his best interest, is no longer.
The disappointment he has experienced is particularly difficult to accept when it appears that the situation could have been avoided entirely through basic checks, accurate information and effective communication had there been robust processes in place.
No child should have their expectations, excitement and sense of achievement taken away at the last minute because of failures in an organisation's administrative processes.
TeamSport has been running the BIKC competition for years. I therefore find it very difficult to understand how a child's qualification and eligibility could apparently remain unresolved through the local finals, subsequent practice bookings and multiple visits to the Farnborough track, only to be identified two days before the regional finals that he will not be competing now we are sorry.
Awful experience
First experience was terrible due to idiots on the track. It was my 1st time so im going to be nervous and slow. And some were waving their hands at me as if to say "What you doing" making me feel like I shouldn't be on there and one of the members "Noah karting YT" even stuck his fingers up. There were a few who banged you by accident and apologised which is understandable and then their were others who take it far too seriously and others ram you to get you out the way. I didnt even do my 2nd session because they made me feel like rubbish. They should definitely be better categories for beginners and "Idiots who wanna ram people who get in their way" categories. My birthday gift ruined and I was so excited. Was going to book a group session with work but we've decided against it now. Very disappointed. There should have been 9 of us on the track and 10 members joined on and ruined it. There were a nice mix of children and women on others and I felt in the lions den. Even a regular said to us it was a bad one. So anyone who wants to go for a bit of fun, or a bit nervous I wouldn't bother, seriously. On a positive, the staff on reception were lovely and helpful.
Visited Harlow teamsport a few times…
Visited Harlow teamsport a few times including today staff are friendly and safety seems good. The karts are well prepared and issues seem to get fixed quick. Have had positive experiences with all staff (Xenia very helpful). It’s a little expensive the first time but if you buy the race again vouchers it’s a little more affordable
our host sammy was great
So much potential at Sheffield…
So much potential at Sheffield teamsport, but unfortunately it seems like it’s being run into the ground, late starting the sessions, place is starting to look tired and the karts are dire, did 3 sessions with 3 different karts which were as bad as each other, slow, poor brakes and handling. It’s a real shame as I used to be a regular at Sheffield but after this last trip I don’t think il return which is a shame :( staff were trying there best and were friendly and helpful, this is the only reason it’s not a 1 star.
Karts are still poor and falling apart
Turned up for a members night, was very quiet, the karts are still very down on power and obviously no maintenance as they was failing apart, they was struggling to start and just in really bad condition. I still enjoyed my time there just think if they put some time and money in to the karts then the amount of people would come back. The staff was helpful

My son had a great day at TeamSport Acton. Instructors are fully committed to giving the drivers a great time and learning lots at the same time. Their dedication is to be admired.
Great experience
Great experience, we visited the Harlow track, staff are very friendly, especially a lady called Izzy, made us feel welcome and was very reassuring!!
Would definitely come back
1st Time here at the Liverpool one
1st Time here at the Liverpool one. We have to get there an hour before so a lot of waiting for a 10 Minute Briefing. They have a bar so you would think maybe a pint before but would not serve us. I'm sure one pint would not hurt as there was a stag do there that you could clearly see they had been the pub before hand. After an hour of being bored we got to race. 1st round we didn't even get a full lad due to to many on the track and Yellow and Red flags. The two lads that were on the track to clear the carts did not have a single rush in them. Lots of lads moaning about the racing as it did not happen with to many people spinning etc. 2nd Round was a bit better. Staff on way in very friendly. Staff on track need some happy pills to make customers feel welcome.
My 10-year-old son was left circulating…
My 10-year-old son was left circulating in a severely underperforming kart during a family session at TeamSport Warrington. His first recorded lap took approximately nine minutes, despite him normally lapping in just over a minute. Other karts continued passing him while he was travelling extraordinarily slowly and becoming increasingly frightened.
The situation culminated in an interaction with a marshal that reduced my already frightened son to tears. My partner and I witnessed this trackside, and part of the incident was also captured on his brother’s helmet camera.
We submitted a formal complaint, timing information and the original footage. TeamSport has now acknowledged that the kart “was not performing as expected” and that Jude experienced an issue, yet it maintains that the speed was not sufficiently distinguishable from normal cadet driving to require a different intervention.
We cannot reconcile that conclusion with the footage, the lap time, what we witnessed or the fact that my son’s replacement kart performed normally in the same session.
Our greatest concern was the safety and welfare of a frightened 10-year-old in a faulty or underperforming kart while faster karts continued approaching and passing him. Sadly, after a lengthy complaint process, we feel TeamSport has concentrated on defending its original position rather than meaningfully addressing that concern.
We will not return to TeamSport following Jude’s experience and the subsequent handling of our complaint.
Shocking and dreadfully handled.
Its was good fun for my party of 11…
Its was good fun for my party of 11 people but was told we have the track to ourselves but at the end we got put with 4 of racers who were very aggressive and the marshalls didn't do much to help resolve the issues some people were injured in the end but we all had a good time just need better marshaling during the race.
I booked the Adult Ultimate Race…
I booked the Adult Ultimate Race Experience at TeamSport Nottingham on 27/08/2026 (ref 21W305786). The sessions were run unsafely — we were made to do 30 minutes of continuous racing with no break, and my partner became overheated and unwell.
Despite this, no first aid was offered, and staff only suggested asking the bar to turn on the air‑conditioning. He couldn’t complete the second session included in our booking.
I emailed customer service on 28 August, sent a follow‑up, and messaged on Facebook. I’ve had no response at all. For a safety‑related complaint, this is very disappointing. I’m requesting a refund for the extra session and a goodwill gesture.
Refund Promised, not refunded
Just a heads up that the customer’care’ team do not communicate with the track site staff. One of our party was promised a refund by a staff member at the Eastleigh track, ‘no problem’ apparently, only for the customer care team to turn it down. One of the reasons this company doesn’t have a good score on Trust Pilot.
⭐ Very disappointing experience
⭐ Very disappointing experience – birthday celebration ruined
I booked TeamSport Reading for my son’s 13th birthday celebration, specifically explaining his age and the reason for the booking when I spoke to customer service. Unfortunately, what should have been a special family experience turned into a very upsetting afternoon.
We completed all the driver registrations online as instructed, but when we arrived, we were told the registrations were not showing on the system and had to complete them again at the venue. We then discovered that my son could not participate because of his age, despite me having specifically given his age to the customer service representative when making the booking. Had I been properly informed of the age restriction at the time of booking, I would have made alternative arrangements.
My son was extremely upset and cried because he had been looking forward to celebrating his birthday by doing this activity with his family. The alternative arrangements offered on the day did not make up for the fact that he was unable to participate as expected.
Unfortunately, the way the situation was handled by the venue manager also left a lot to be desired. I found his approach unhelpful and rude, and I felt that our concerns were not properly acknowledged. I also had a very poor experience when contacting customer services afterwards, when my call was put on hold and then disconnected.
The main issue is not simply that there was a problem on the day — it is that the problem could potentially have been avoided if the booking had been handled correctly and the age restriction had been clearly explained beforehand.
For a company providing birthday experiences for families, I expected much better communication and customer service. Sadly, what was supposed to be a memorable birthday celebration became a very disappointing experience for my son and our family.
I would strongly recommend that TeamSport review its booking and registration processes, staff communication and complaint handling so that other families do not experience the same problems.
Very disappointing experience for a…
Very disappointing experience for a children’s birthday party at the karting in Brent Cross.
The staff were not very helpful, the organisation was poor, and we were left to manage most things ourselves. The food, timing and service were not well coordinated, and nothing really made the birthday feel special.
Overall, a big disappointment and not an experience I would recommend for a children’s party.
I was injured whilst racing
I was injured whilst racing, fracturing my ribs, which has put a severe blot on my summer. I'm resorting to writing this review here because Teamsport have been less than forthcoming in helping me with my initial concerns. Namely, that had the staff done their job the person who crashed into me would not have been able to gain the speed necessary to do the damage that resulted in my injury because the race would have been slowed as it had been repeatedly during both my laps. After gaslighting me from the start, intimating that the accident never took place, I eventually got an email stating that not every part of the track is covered by cameras. If that is the case, it's not possible to ensure driver safety as they obviously couldn't see the situation I was in through no fault of my own. I asked in my first email why there was not an incident/accident form to be filled in on site. They didn't answer my question. I can't believe it's not policy to get the details of an incident at the time it happens. I knew I had seriously hurt myself , but was told by a member of staff 'that it's probably just bruised'. The same member of staff told me they would ring the following day to check how I was doing. They didn't. It goes without saying that she was in no way qualified to assess my injury, particularly as she didn't examine me or ask what had happened. From the start it was apparent they were more concerned with avoiding litigation than the safety of their customers. The whole process have been deeply demoralising and they obviously can't give any reasonable gaurantee of customer safety and didn't seem to care that I suffered a relatively serious injury. I accept that there is a risk involved with any sport, my point is that what happened to me was avoidable and I have had to suffer as a result of their negligence.
Overcrowded track
We have become regulars at the Brent Cross track as it is near our home. The circuit is good and the facilities are great. The staff are also very friendly and helpful. What lets this track down is the number of people they sometimes cram onto the track. Today there were 14 people - a mix of kids and adults - and it was impossible to get a decent lap time in. Just too many people and 4 red lights. My son’s lap time was 10 seconds slower than usual. It was really frustrating. It has happened before and totally ruins the experience. They need limits on the number of people on track to ensure everyone gets a good experience.
Beware when booking. No refund policy
Beware!!! Book with caution. Terrible customer service. A few hours after booking a session I contacted customer service to apply a missing voucher to which I was told that Team-Sport has a policy of no-refunds and so the customer service rep was unable to cancel the booking or apply the voucher to the existing booking. The customer service reps ‘manager’ refused to speak to me on the phone. Unreasonable and terrible customer service. Beware.
