Awful food Luke warm and dried out even though we were there at a meal time.
This is the 3rd time in recent months we have stopped at tebay to eat and it has not been good at all. I really don't know how they can justify the prices they charge

I watched your TV programme how difficult it was for people to get their products on your shelf
I think you need to apply that Ethos to yourselves
Your Toilets smelt disgusting they were dirty
Your Sunday roast soggy Yorkshire puddings, aunt Bessie‘s roast potatoes taste awful, overcooked and cold lamb.
How can you let standards slip this low after you had it right for so many years?

Dreadful weak coffees that were poured out. Complete waste of money. They were completely tasteless. Girl behind the counter was very busy and harrassed looking and obviously wasn’t preparing properly made coffees. Really dissatisfied and disappointed.

I accidentally drank piss once. Still better than the coffee from this shit hole.

I am really surprised at all these negative reviews about Tebay south.
I have stopped here for years and have always found it excellent!
The shop is amazing with lovely gifts food and other goods.
The restaurant is also good with a great choice of menu and food which includes takeaway as well as eat-in.
The staff are also extremely polite and helpful - I point out two individuals that are amazing snd a credit to Tebay, they are a Ukrainian lady who never stops cleaning the tables as well as the floor !!
And the other is a Polish lady who is also extremely hard working.
So please instead of judging the reviews, try it for yourself.

Thought we’d try their “Westmorland breakfast”.Absolutely disgusting.Not even a full rasher of bacon,just the eye.Cold,overcooked mushrooms,overcooked sausage,toast that was probably cooked over a matchstick for 10 seconds,and to top it all,she plated up,realised she was a fried egg short,so had to order one from the “chef”.So our breakfasts were going cold while waiting. Took a couple of bites,took them back and got a refund off the manager who seemed so relaxed about it,like he did it many times a day.We will NEVER go there again,and it seems by reading some more reviews they aren’t even bothered about being so bad.They should have their license revoked.

Really surprised at the reputation this place seems to get. In my opinion it's vastly over-priced below average produce, fresh or shelf stocked food. The clothing sections are also vastly overpriced or not always great quality. The staff are either utterly clueless, downright rude, or both. I make a London to Glasgow & return journey on average once a month. I make certain I avoid this place now every journey. An absolute blatant rip-off with elitist ideas way above its station.

Just visited the northbound services.
Awful food and worse service, considering they charge restaurant prices!
Waited for food to be cooked, was told to pay and come back. Did this and was ignored by the server. When we did get served we only got one meal, was told the other would be 3 mins. Ok. Waited 10 mins, still being ignored, asked again and was told to take one and they’d come to get us. Went back after a further 10 mins and was told we’d need to wait a further 10 mins. At this point we asked for a refund and was met by possibly the rudest team leader I’ve ever encountered, no wonder the rest of the staff are useless if that’s their role model.
Also, went to the toilets which definitely hadn’t been cleaned in a while.
Awful place, management should be ashamed.

We enjoyed staying at the westmoreland hotel (we stay there frequently) but thought we’d have breakfast in the services (southbound). It was so disappointing. A disgusting bacon and egg roll in a very stale cold bun and no orange juice available. We won’t go there again.

Male toilets filthy looked like they had not been cleaned for months.
Member of staff in attendance shuffling toilet rolls.
Management & staff should be ashamed.

Called in north bound. Picked up salad bowl with Smoked Mackeral & Waldorf Salad. Salad was all frozen and smelled terrible. Place crowded and busy. Why I don’t know as it was filthy ,dogs everywhere . I am a dog owner but would consider other people and not take them into busy food outlets.
We had stopped early morning months ago and remember now having a terrible breakfast. Won’t be back!

Dreadful overpriced stale items . I think the scones have been lying out for 3 days .

Based on the TV programme I couldn’t wait to visit. What a disappointment it was. Sunday carvery, given one slice of dry overcooked beef, carrots and cabbage cooked to death and watery, roast potatoes hard and chewy. All food was lukewarm and tasteless, the best bit of the meal was the horseradish sauce ! Would never stop here again, awful, stay away folks.Tables dirty and surroundings scruffy.

Cold food waited 10 mins to pay, uninterested staff chatting in kitchen expensive

Very hard to fined anything positive considering all the hype following the recent tv documentary !!!
•Staff slow and disinterested / scruffy.
•Dirty floors and tables.
•Food cold and of poor quality.
•Over inflated prices.
•Two staff in uniform overheard complaint about working environment and smoking at main entrance.
“NOT AS SEEN ON TV”
The two towns of Kendal south or Penrith north are a much much better option.

OK if you like carrot juice and pastry and over run with yapping dogs

good services but overpriced

Stopped here about 9.00am last Saturday. The coffee was dreadful and the three sandwiches we bought were so stale they inedible and cost a very £20!. I expected more from this service company. I didn't look at the date on the sandwiches and the sell by date was that day so, at the very least, they should have been honest and sold greatly reduced. We won't be stopping there again.

Looks very good. But has very poor service. I went in to see if there was a cash machine. There was nothing in the main service building. went into the petrol pump. I went in to ask. Maybe she saw me coming. She didnt even look up to answer me. She just shouted NO. This is not professional.
I wouldn't recommend the services.
