GYM GROUP

I attend the gym, i like to go after work at 11.30 pm and its quiet, can get on all the equipment which is in great working order, atmosphere is great and welcoming, very clean and have lockers.
Great gym especially since the upgrade of some new machines.

Time for a change

Been a member from day 1. Price increases every year and another increase due september and regular shut downs, for what? Oh a lick of paint here and there and move some equipment around... Getting boring very fast. Warrior gym which is in close proximity is only £20 which has a sauna as well. Time to move on I think..

Paid for four weeks but received only 3

When I subscribed the gym must have already known that they would close the gym at the end of the same month for an “upgrade” - yet they didn’t consider to inform me about it. I paid for four weeks and I receive just three. It’s cheeky at best and simply fraud at worst. Sure, sometimes they need to close the gym, but if those days aren’t refunded or the days added to the subscription, they should tell me about those days if they are within my first month of subscription and for sure known to them at that time already. It’s just a few quid, but it feels like fraud. So I am cancelling my membership and probably will try PureGym instead.

And this wasn’t the only questionable thing I noticed. The lockers/showers are closed from midnight to 4am for cleaning. But the showers actually aren’t usable from 11.10pm to about 11.40pm already, as that’s when they actually get cleaned. So why again can’t I use them from midnight to 4am? It’s not bad enough to complain, but it’s definitely “meh” and for sure annoying when one actually would look for a 24/7 gym.

It fasal information in app they say you got 50%off but when it comes to pay they charage you full last time when i join the jym pay it and then after three day my code stop working but there no one there to help you and i left to home not happy with there mangement

Best Place to Be...The Gym!

Hello,
I am writing this review to counter all the negative reviews some unhappy people have been writing about The Gym. I have been a member for year and a half and I'll be staying a member for the rest of my life.
This gym; best value for money, cleaner on site most of the time, people use the facilities irresponsibly and then complain, staff is there most of the time but they can't be there for you at 2 am.
Equipment is available in adequate numbers but sometimes it's ok to wait and share. I have seen people abusing the entry system by getting in twos. I check the capacity before I go. Ok, I have the luxury of flexibility but I can understand that some people don't have this but I have been there at the busiest times, still no problem.
So, guys, just chill and enjoy your workouts as much as you can because it may not be perfect but it is the best at the moment.

Denied entrance. No customer support

Is a real shame I have to bad review the Gym group. I 've been a member for more than a year and a half and it was always great, the staff is really nice and I had a good time there doing my gym routines and meeting people. But not having someone available to help you at the door has really ruined it. In more than one occasion I have turned up to the Gym and it won't open the DOOR. I am clueless to what the issue is. I have stood there ringing the bell for 15-20 minutes and no one is available for help, no phone number to contact support or any help available.
There's nothing more infuriating then making an effort to drive and turn up to the gym only to be denied entrance.
I had an issue recently, I manage to convince my son to signed up to the gym, but the electric doors wouldn't let him in. We spent 15 minutes outside calling for help.
In the end we gave up. I was very frustrated and just entered the capsule together with my code.
We later discovered we only needed to sign safety agreement, so we thought we'll let the bad experience passed
However today I have turned up at the Gym and spent there 20 minutes confused why I wasn't allowed in. I tried to look in the app for any explanation. As usual there was no one there to help. I looked through my emails and found out my account has been suspended I presume for going in the capsule with my son.
It was my first day back to the gym after taking a break. This was really demoralising and upsetting having to walk back to the car.
I really hope they improve this and could reconsider re-joining again in the future if they improve customer support. I was looking forward to completing my second year in a row and was in the process of integrating some of my family members just like I had done with friends in the past, but this experience has really ruined a good thing I had.
I would now be cancelling my Gym membership as well as my son's and encourage friends to go to my new Gym.

Almost a Perfect Gym!

A very good gym except the showering facilities, which I consider an important facility of a gym, particular after a serious workout. The short period auto time-out of the shower and the lacking of facility for hooking the shower gel, etc for showering are really annoying!

The staff are all welcoming and friendly, the equipment is very accessible aswell for all abilities. The classes are very active and pushes all people to reach their goals. I would like to mention one particular staff member ayesha kauser who is very thorough and consistent in her cleanliness of the gym and maintenence she is amazing!

Avoid the Bolton Branch

Go to the Bolton branch. The women’s locker room is completely unlocked at all times so anyone on the top floor can just walk in.
Never mind though, nothings happened in the 5 years the staff have worked there and it saves them having to come out at 2am when someone can’t remember their pin or charge their phone. Let’s put women at risk so they can sleep.

The TRX wall is usually missing the ropes and I’ve never ever seen a cleaner in there no matter what time of day.

I can’t rate them down the the loud misogynistic men making less comments to women nor the gangs of men downstairs glaring at everyone but that’s still a factor for anyone who isn’t that confident.

I signed up for the gym group and…

I signed up for the gym group and wasn't told of a "induction" that I needed to do to get in, I've been a multiple times to my gym and every time ive had to go home without entering. Im not the only one as most times ive gone people have been waiting longer than me for the call to be responded to. The staff are either no where to be seen or wonder around. They wasn't hesitant to take the monthly fee but don't help. Money spent on travel for nothing.

Great value for money

Great value for money. Sometimes its annoying when the tissue paper rolls are not replenished in time. It may seem small but in the gym when you are sweating, you need tissue papers to wipe the sweat. Overall it is a good gym.

Leaving is so hard to do

I am trying to leave and they say it is very easy, but I am not finding that. I pay on credit card and have now asked about three times to leave and provided the information required, but am still waiting for confirmation. So not so easy.

Big enough to make it easy to get…

Big enough to make it easy to get around, some gyms have lots of equipment stuffed into little space. It, like every gym gets busy at peak time, but not too bad at all. Range of equipment is good, but another Smith machine would be really good. Best gym I've been in .

New equipment urgently needed

The gym equipment is not up to the standard of other local gyms. Unless there is a sharp turnaround in equipment, this will be my last month and I can say this is the same for a good few members I have spoken too. It’s a shame as the staff are superb and can’t do enough for you.

Best Gym at affordable price

Excellent trainers and fantastic service. Gym clean with plenty of equipments. I came after 18months of cancer treatment and I was helped to get me back on my feet with strength training. Highly recommend the classes. Big shout out to Sam, Dan, Ayesha, Michael, James a few names to mention. Price is very affordable during this uncertain times for people like me who value health and fitness.
