Thank goodness for human contact. Opened an ISA yesterday with Ben's help. Great service fed up of other banks trying to shove us all online with noone to help in branch. This is is different. Great it's local too.

I am impressed. They have put a lot of thought to provide an excellent customer experience. Applying and uploading ID documents and speed of opening account is excellent. Email docs, welcome pack are concise. Banking site is clear and easy to navigate. Get texts and emails when you pay in. Good interest rate. Shame the society doesn't seem to be high on search engines. Its good that they are part of Newcastle BS. I am glad I found them.

Manchester BS excelled in service, through a postal application to a branch only based regular saver. I'm hearing and mobility impaired and can't get to one under my own steam. Many thanks to the team, but particularly to Mohammed: he kindly pre-populated the application form. Customer service is an area where local mutuals can really make a difference, especially when compared to the industry giants.

Opened an account today with Mohammed and the service was absolutely outstanding from start to finished. I have only just moved to Manchester so it was tricky to sort out my ID but we got there in the end. Mohammed was helpful and courteous from the start and I would recommend them wholeheartedly.
