Tuckers is a traditional butcher, established in 1984 in Penclawdd on the Gower Peninsula in South Wales. The business originally supplied the local community with fresh meat, frozen goods and groceries from the shop and through a home delivery service. We couple traditional butchery practices with modern cutting styles to produce high quality cuts of Gower meat suitable for any menu. Our meat is sourced as livestock from farms on Gower and surrounding areas and carry out all our butchery from carcass form, providing full traceability from farm to your door.

Nothing special
The lamb chops were tiny and had very little fat, like supermarket chops, when cooked they were less than a centimeter thick. The lamb rump joints were so small we needed one each which made for very expensive dinner.

We only wished that you had contacted us directly instead of publishing a review online. You’ll understand that we can’t do a great deal to help if you don’t get in touch and this review was the first that we heard about this matter.
Small independent businesses need all of the help and support that they can get, reviews like this can be damaging, unhelpful and come across as quite spiteful when you could simply have picked up the phone or dropped us an email.

With regards the cuts of lamb that you received, as you're aware, these are sold on weight and not dimensional size so you'd had received what you ordered. As for how they looked after cooking, we don't comment on our customers' methods or styles of cooking.

Good service all round and quality products. I would like to see a way I can return the wool insulation packs to you for re-use. It seems a shame to have to throw them away when the are perfectly re-cyclable!

Perfect
OMG! We had a local delivery to Gower.
The fillet steak was absolutely incredible. Also great gluten free sausages and gorgeous bacon. I have a freezer full now but on a mission to eat it all to order more lol Highly recommended!

Good customer service!
The meat was OK. I did find the website extraordinarily confusing especially between weight and price. I chose my option and it would say one price but when I came to the checkout it was a completely different price. I'm fairly tech savvy and can navigate sites without issues but this was a novelty. However, the response from Customer Service was good.

Excellent service
Excellent service. Very kindly phoned me when they couldn't supply my exact order and offered refund or substitution of a similar product. I was very grateful to be offered the choice rather than be left short or a wrong replacement. Definitely going to go back to them often.

Great as usual
Great as usual
This was my 4th order from Tuckers. The meat as always was top quality. Everying arrived chilled and nicely packed. Looking forward to cooking up more lovely meals with what's now in my freezer.
