Rachel was very clear with what our next steps needed to be as far as billing. She told me what she needed to do, what I needed to do and when, and what the hospitals needs to do. she let me ask my silly questions and answered them as far as i could Understand.

Rachel Perez was the one bright spot in an otherwise incredibly frustrating experience. After two months of denials, hours spent on the phone, and repeated issues, Rachel immediately stepped in and started making things right. She contacted providers directly, discovered that information and claims had been sent to the wrong places, and began working to recover some of the money I had paid out of pocket. She was knowledgeable, responsive, and genuinely helpful.

Unfortunately, my overall experience with the company was very different. During my two-month membership, nearly every attempt to receive medical services resulted in a denial or issue with coverage. These were all for relatively minor needs…physical therapy, MRI/ x-ray, and office visits. Each time I called for help, I spent 2+ hours on the phone, much of it on hold, only to eventually learn that something had been submitted or sent incorrectly. I can’t imagine how difficult and time consuming it would be to use this coverage for a much more serious or extensive medical issue.

Between membership dues and services I ultimately paid for out of pocket out of frustration, I spent nearly $3,000 for little to no actual coverage. Had I received the level of help and competence Rachel provided from the beginning, my experience, and likely my decision to continue my membership, would have been very different.

The final straw was being transferred to a retention specialist who was initially pleasant but became condescending when he realized I was terminating my membership. He said, “I can’t help people who don’t want to be helped,” then abruptly added, “Okay, just confirming, you do not want my help today?” That interaction made an already frustrating experience even worse.

Rachel has been very helpful as we’ve been navigating these medical bills from our daughter’s delivery. She explains things clearly, sets proper expectations, and has been a wonderful advocate for us when speaking with hospital representatives.

Rachel, was on top of our issue and called my daughter when she said she would. Thank you Rachel for all of your help!!

Rachel was very pleasant and patient. She took care of everything I needed and made sure I was comfortable with all that I needed. She followed up promptly with an email to finalize everything.

Rachel helped me out with a bill I received that needed medical records to be processed. She reached out to the dr for me and got everything squared away, I didn’t have to do a thing. She also updated me on multiple other bills and where they were in the process. She was patient, kind, and took care of all my needs. Rachel is what makes uhsm great!

Robyn got IT. & ran with it. On top of it, I didn't have to break it all down; she understood the situation and took action- the right kind of action. Very happy, always, when I get people who operate at a high level of competence. Just excellent!

Horrible company to work with. They are very difficult to try to get things paid by. I got sent so many bills that they were "still processing". I got threatened to get put into collections because they weren't paying for the healthy member discount bloodwork. Trying to get someone to help you and give you actual answers is a job in itself. There was only one customer service rep I talked to that was decent to work with, everyone else has been a major headache. When we canceled we got talked to like we were horrible people and the reasons we were leaving were our fault and not theirs. Just absolutely ridiculous.

Horrible company. You can never find a doctor thats in network. They will say one is you make an appointment then go to be told they are no longer with them. No wonder the pay so late the office will call you to call them! They should be shit down. I’m still waiting for a doctor that my daughter can go to for months! Now I get an email saying they are still working to find one. Avoid this fraud at all cost. We will be going elsewhere!

I was trying to clear up a misunderstanding with a customer service agent. I wasn't aware that paying my doctors visits out of pocket didnt apply toward the deductible, so my doctor has been trying to file it every year, which took months to get a reply. No one ever told their staff or me do not send them these claims. I called to ask about it and reached the most rude individual I've ever encountered. He told me how this was "my fault" and that "he has all the documentation right here" showing that I "knew this". I told him I misunderstood and basically got treated like a criminal. Yesterday I spent 45 minutes on hold before having to hang up, which I mentioned today. He told me it's because they have SO MANY happy customers, they take their time with each one, and they didnt "do it on purpose just to make me mad". I told this abusive individual I wasn't going to argue with him, and just CANCEL THIS POLICY. My heart was beating rapidly after having the encounter with this mean, confrontational, accusatory man. Awful, AWFUL experience. The other reviews that say this are so accurate.....

I had an in-depth conversation with Jamille Barajas and I can’t say enough about how amazing she was.
