Formal Complaint Regarding Dangerous Driving by UK Power Networks Vehicle LC70 DYS
Dear Customer Services,
I am writing to make a formal complaint regarding the dangerous driving of one of your company vehicles, registration LC70 DYS, on the A12 in London at approximately 11:30 pm on 2 July 2026.
At the time of the incident, there was a lane closure ahead and traffic was merging into a single lane. As drivers reached the closure, your driver repeatedly refused to allow vehicles to merge safely. Instead of leaving a safe gap, the driver accelerated and deliberately blocked cars from entering the lane.
When I attempted to merge, your driver continued to prevent me from doing so and came dangerously close to colliding with my vehicle. I had to take evasive action to avoid what could have been a serious accident.
What makes this incident particularly concerning is that my baby was in the car. The driver’s actions unnecessarily placed my child’s safety, my own safety, and the safety of other road users at risk. There was absolutely no justification for driving in such an aggressive and dangerous manner.
As this was a clearly marked UK Power Networks vehicle, the driver was representing your company. I expect professional drivers operating company vehicles to behave responsibly, especially when navigating roadworks and lane closures where patience and cooperation are essential for everyone’s safety.
Deliberately preventing vehicles from merging serves no legitimate purpose. It creates unnecessary danger, increases the likelihood of collisions, causes congestion, and can easily escalate into road rage. I found the driver’s behaviour intimidating, reckless, and completely unacceptable.
I ask that you investigate this incident thoroughly. Please review any available vehicle tracking data, telematics, or dashcam footage to identify the driver and determine what occurred. I also ask that appropriate action is taken to ensure this behaviour is addressed and does not happen again.
Please acknowledge receipt of this complaint and let me know the outcome of your investigation once it has been completed.
I trust UK Power Networks will treat this matter with the seriousness it deserves.

We had a major power outage which lasted nearly 24 hours. They kept in constant contact keeping us updated on progress. The whole team have been brilliant. In addition they gave us a temporary supply until they can get us back on a normal supply with five industrial generator packs. Our thanks go to the engineering team as well who worked through the night to find the fault. We live in a rural location so it must have been a tough task. Very well done to you all.

Informed about loss of power, speedily, and kept up to date with progress regarding the companies finding and fixing the problem
Total power outage on 15 May
Total power outage on 15 May. Emergency engineer came within 40 minutes. Problem identified as faulty UK Power Sytems fuse which had overheated and failed. Told fuse assembly needed changing and kitchen cabinet needed removing for access. Told to phone when ready. He did manage to clean contacts and get power on. Got a kitchen fitter following day and phoned you on 18 May. Phoned 3 days later to be told you had not recorded fact we were ready. This was corrected but we have now been waiting 6 weeks for this to be resolved. Have phoned twice for an update: no forecast given. Kitchen still dismantled, not happy with long delay in fixing this problem permanently.

Received calls to check we were OK during a recent power cut and updates untill it was back on

UKPN resolved a problem with our earthing arrangements, so that we could complete the installation of a new oven in the kitchen
