MODERN DAY SLAVERY

I started working at VANR thinking I’d be making decent money — what a joke that turned out to be. I walked in full of hope, only to be thrown into the biggest scam of a “job” I’ve ever experienced. Nathan and Fabian pretend to be nice, friendly people, but don’t fall for it — behind those fake smiles, they’re only interested in themselves and making VANR look good. No wonder VANR barely scrapes the bottom of the Amazon rankings — it’s all smoke and mirrors!

They absolutely force you to work yourself into the ground. Constantly understaffed, they’ll guilt-trip you into working 6, even 7 days a week, just to keep their broken operation afloat. I worked 6 days a week, week after week, and STILL barely scraped together any money. They love to split your route — cutting your wages in half — then have the audacity to blame you for “concessions”. What concessions? The only thing I conceded was my time, energy, and sanity.

And just when you think your shift is over? Nope. They’ll hound you to support other drivers — usually the lazy ones — or claim Amazon “demands” that you stay longer. I’d do my job, finish my stops, do the van check and log off. End of story. But not for Nathan or Fabian — they’d blow up my phone with calls, basically trying to bully me back into working more. I stopped answering. I couldn’t be bothered anymore.

They even started sticking my name down for shifts I never agreed to. If I said I wasn’t available, they’d start begging or guilt-tripping me into working. During Christmas? Forget having a life. You work whenever they say — no ifs, no buts. You’re a robot to them.

Let’s talk about the vans. The ones they hand out at first? Absolute scrap. Dusty, broken, falling apart. They’ll promise you a new van once you “prove yourself” — total lie. They’ve got new vans sitting there doing nothing, while you’re out there in something that feels like it should be in a scrapyard.

You find damage on a van and report it? BAM — it’s your fault. Say goodbye to a chunk of your already pathetic wages. I was told I’d earn £800 a week — biggest lie ever. They said they pay £1 per parcel. Another lie. Just a ploy to make you rush and break your back doing more stops. And the “£2 per parcel for support”? Never saw that money. Not once.

After all that, my payslip? Struggling to hit £500 — for 6 DAYS of work! If you pay rent, have a family or any sort of life to support, forget it. VANR will financially and mentally ruin you. Their management is toxic and manipulative. Fola, another so-called manager, tried to intimidate me with legal threats just because I was new and learning. No patience, no support — just pressure and scare tactics.

VANR are modern-day exploiters. They prey on hard-working people, dangle fake promises in front of them, then bleed them dry. They are a walking HR and legal nightmare and should be investigated from top to bottom. If you’re even thinking about working for VANR — run the other way.

We take false claims seriously and feel it’s important to provide clarity for others reading this.

VANR has proudly operated for over 9 years as a trusted Amazon delivery partner. We are consistently ranked among the top 3 performers in our region—a position earned through hard work, operational excellence, and treating our drivers fairly and respectfully.

We currently work with over 70 active drivers, many of whom have been with us for years. They choose to stay with VANR because of the supportive culture, consistent earning opportunities, and performance-based rewards we provide.

To address some of the claims made:

Employment & Deductions: Since you’ve never worked for VANR, the wage and deduction claims made are unfounded. That said, for legitimate drivers, we operate with full transparency—any deductions are clearly outlined in agreements and only applied when appropriate, such as for vehicle damage.

Schedules & Shifts: We never force drivers to work beyond what they agree to. Extra shifts—especially during peak periods—are always optional, and many drivers welcome the chance to earn more.

Bonus & Support Pay: We do offer support pay and bonuses, as confirmed by many of our team members in their own words.

Vehicle Standards: Our vans are maintained regularly, and all drivers are encouraged to report any issues, which we address swiftly. Newer vehicles are assigned fairly based on availability and performance.

Management Culture: Our team is here to support, not pressure. In fact, many of our drivers have developed within VANR into leadership roles—something we take great pride in.

We regret that such serious and inaccurate claims were posted publicly without any attempt to resolve or verify them directly. Nonetheless, we wish you the best in your future endeavors.

When you start working with the…

When you start working with the company, it all seems perfect and great. The team are really helpful there but they just trick you into liking the position, specially if you rent their vans. I have worked for them for half a year, I have not made any profit at all, they either charge you for damages, you get charged for PCNS it is not really worth it. Once they realise that you are getting paid enough they will either give you a half-route or leave you on stand-by without reasoning.

I have been working here for a few months now and the work has been consistent and rewarding, even after Christmas time when it’s busiest it seems to not have slowed down, there is great weekly incentives to up the income on a weekly basis. The team are great and the management have been supportive from the start, very happy to have joined.
