There was a problem with the app which prevented it from working properly on my new computer, but Vanspace3d support was very responsive. They keep me informed as to the diagnosis of the problem as well as its resolution. I can now use the app!

You don't often get a software bug fixed and released within a couple of weeks! Good communication and excellent response to a problem I had logging in.

Well... 1 Star for attention/advice.
This will be awkward. I RARELY write reviews at all.
Let alone for a product I haven't even tried... Why?

I Googled you based off of YouTube ads.
Found the app and then queried, "vanspace reviews"

Your customer service review reply person is passive AF for issues that i might resonate with based on the subjects that they have spoken of. Instead of being a victim mindset, take in negative reviews, and if there are enough for something customers find lacking or deeming necessary why not try to accommodate those items somehow? Don't even reply unless it is constructive to the item brought before you.

Free trial or buy-in-app items/blueprints or tiers.. why not? Use the negative to make a positive.
Someone says it is not worth it because of X,

Then why not reply
"Hey yyyyy thanks for commenting about X, we can pm you if you provide us with your username privately"
OR
"Hey, yyyy, that's a good point, we'll see what you can do and thanks for the feedback"...
More capture = more revenue. More low tier comments = research = better app and more market share..

Start cataloguing things and don't reply passive -aggressively to customer reviews, use them as benchmarks on how to improve. I'll come back when I am closer to building to see if half of these concerns are addressed because I share them, and that isn't a bad thing, that's a hey... make this 1-star into a 5-star!

This market got on fire in covid and now is building serious heat as the ways of the world change. change with it.
You could literally do commission with known builders... I am being as positive as possible for something I've never used but am interested in at the same level of a "complainer". Hope these comments are taken with a grain of salt, a sigh, a deep breath and a whiteboard.. I know it's more coding and cost to you, but it could pay off greatly if you can view the negatives of the positives instead of posting people's usernames or RL names in your replies!

Absolutely useless software, not worth a tenth of its price. It's a pity I didn't search for people's feedback first, but apparently I fell in the trap of expectations - if it's paid, it should do the job. No. It won't.

My review has to do with my experience with vanspace, not the software itself. It's odd because I walked away from their site because I couldn't find any sort of free trial or live demo but they then reached out to me via Email (I guess I started registering but left off, and they saw it as a lead in their CRM?), to which I replied to let them know that while I liked what I saw, I saw no way to test it. Asked if there was any free trial or library I could purchase... after which I got dragged into a long and defensive email thread about not doing free demos (as if I were pushing for one, which I was not). They did say: "A layout can be completed in under an hour if needed. By the time a free trial ended, multiple designs could have been created without the need to purchase a license." which tells me they don't have the most experienced product manager or dev lead (there are so many ways to do this that don't involve granting full access as they seem to think is required... It's like they've not used software since the 90s and aren't aware of all the many business models employed and can't think outside the box). This coupled with what my friends that have used the tool have said (Van models aren't perfect, software laggy, there is no tooling for wires and pipe management, and support denying return requests because the software just sucks), just left a bad taste in my mouth. Stand by your tool.
They also noted that they have tried a free trial model with limited features, and that gave people a bad experience... in my experience, that's a great way for me to see if I want the rest of the features and if the trial is bad, it's not because of limited features..

Overall, I get the feeling this isn't the best software and that the team is more defensive than constructive. Feels like an AOL erra software company. Their replies here don't seem much better. Just thought I'd share my experience.

TL;DR, I was considering purchasing because it looked ok, but I couldn't find any way to test the software itself... I talked to folks and read reviews online and found that they imply the software isn't the best, so I was even more reluctant to purchase without some sort of live demo or trial. Instead of inquiring about the reports or looking for a solution, support emailed defensive essays and left off with a claim of growth and improvement. This claim may be true, but I can't find any evidence of such that isn't on their website or coming from their marketing.

@Vanspace3d: Heh, I'm paying some dude a 20 for his models and may pay even more.. he's not even written any software.. Just strikes me as a more mature developer, and what I saw of his work was accurate and good, so I'm happy to donate to his coffee fund..
Rather pay this guy more and get a few things I need to work harder to make use of and learn how to use a new tool like sketchup than pay a company that gives me a slimy feel and can't stand by their quality as something that will sell itself.

For the record, if you had a demo that actually allowed me to kit out a van and manipulate it with a basic version of all the features, but the van was the limiting feature, maybe even a fake one not on the market, and the software actually impressed me.. well I'd have been willing to pay much more than you currently charge to not have to play with CAD tools. I've invested in companies with good interaction that I could see were working to improve a product and had good practices. I've even helped ones that didn't so they could move to successful turnarounds. There are many ways to play this game, and your strategy doesn't inspire confidence, especially when you're starting with a bad rep. Re-invent, restrategize, and for the love of good software, if you're just using a basic third party foundation and building on that with models and getting enough flack that you feel the need to get defensive and frustrated with someone actually looking to give you money.. please hire a good Programmer and Product Manager and have the current heads step back a bit so someone with experience making a product soar can help yours shine. You had potential. Don't blaim the customers and don't play the "piratebay killed blockbuster" card because we know it's not true. People pay for things that are worth paying for, and if you're doing a 1 time use sort of tool for the 3d design inept, and you're going to be so obtuse as require an internet connection to even start up, move to a SAAS model and host the software and charge by the hourto cover hosting fees with the first 15-20 min free to get users hooked and largely invested in what they're building, then switch off their access with a paywall. If they like your tool, they'll pay. If you don't believe they will like it... well stick with what you've got.

Awful dimension's are all wrong for furniture and vans

The vanspace team immediately responded to my request for technical support and worked with me until we had it fully diagnosed. I was offered an entirely satisfactory solution which was actioned on the spot. You couldn't ask for more!

This is a product that is evolving. Sure, it has lots of weaknesses and many reviewers make valid comments, but a lot of this is down to naivety on the part of the company and the product is definitely getting better with every release. I bought a lifetime subscription a couple of years back but put it aside after finding it too rough to be usable. Last week though, I tried out the latest version and was delighted to find how quickly and easily I was able to transfer the ideas in my head and on paper into a workable 3D image and from there, enhance and refine it; Even my professional campervan builder is impressed. Give Vanspace a bit of time, it already achieves the stated aim of allowing people to produce usable designs quickly, the bells and whistles will come later if we all continue to support it. Five stars will then become the norm!

I appreciate the convenience of having prebuilt furniture and objects that are specific to the camper as well as specific camper models/versions with the right size. However, I am not satisfied with the quality of the software and I would like to share some feedback with you.

I am a software engineer and I have experience with different 3D tools and modeling tools. I have also watched all the documentation/tutorials you offer, but I find the features that Vanspace offers are quite limited and inadequate, such as:

No option to group multiple objects together
No option to use layers
No option to import/export designs in a user-friendly way (moving files into the folder is not a good solution)
No option to view and share the design online
No option to hide/show objects easily

I think this software has potential, but I think it is far from being software that can be commercialized and justify the cost of it. Therefore, I would like to request a refund and cancel my license.

Absolutely been the biggest help with designing my bus build. Not a lot of bus options but there are more vans then bus brands out there so it’s totally understandable. These guys and girls do everything they possibly can to help you out when they get stuck and I just love that they are such genuine people seeking the same creativity. This also is the best way to explain to my partner how I want things so it’s saved a lot of arguments hahaha. Vanspace is constantly growing with new feautures and products and is making building quicker and easier each time. Thankyou legends!

Avoid this product, it does not work as suggested and the company make it extremely difficult to get a refund despite it being their product at fault.

Save your money and avoid this software!!

Terrible computer performance, okay for planning

Look, they don't pretend to sell this software to build a perfect model of your dream van. It is great for laying things out generally and see if you have the space for things and whatnot.

Don't leave it on in the background though, it is an incredibly innefficient software. I was wondering why my fan was so high, so I pulled up task manager and saw the software was using almost all my laptops gpu and a good portion of the cpu/memory just sitting in the background doing nothing. What processing could you possibly be doing? I would discuss this with your software engineers.

After 3 weeks im still mailing to get a "login".Emails are nice, but nor helpfull at all, one problem solved, next one comes and it is a never ending story.
I got It as a present, otherwise i would go to a laywer for my money.

Well.. They got me!.. and its my own fault for not investigating it before buying.

If you are a serious builder, then this program is completely worthless.
They dont have my car as template, and i used the custom template maker... but thats pretty crappy too, since it doesnt go further then just an empty straight box.

Thy have a lot of items! thats a plus! but actually using using it and getting the electrics and plumbing correctly is worthless again. you can move the stuff around, but no contstraints and stuff.

so the software is not for me, but searching for refund policies I found their policies and it sucks..just like their software :')

For real van builders this software is still a piece of crap.. ..just my humble opinion. The only thing you can do is place items in a space.. its like building your house in the SIMS.. its nice to see, but its utterly useless when you actually want to build it.
they promised plumbing and electrics in version 3..but that doesnt work.
you cannot make drawings, cannot get schematics. its just a simple puzzle game.

nice for kids to play around but i'll just go back and use some usefull 3D programs like inventor/ solidworks or if you want some free software go use FreeCAD.

I have compared

(1) working with an accurate 3d model and modeling the hole process in inventor, solidworks, 3dsmax

(2) working with a simplified model and working in sketchup (free)

(3) working in vanspace3d

From my opinion vanspace3d is not user friendly at all, and if i would have had the possibility to test the software before buying it if would have never bought. it. There are just so many options where i put on a frown, e.g., the scaling of cars. If the software producers are so convinced of their software, than please publish a demo version and check your sale numbers afterwards. And the possible buyers: just take sketchup for free

A software that floods all social networks but doesn't offer a demo or a try period looks utterly fishy to me... then you come here to find out the general deception and are happy you did not buy it.

EDIT: everywhere I read about your software is the same deception .
Anyway, a software that you NEED to buy to find out if it's good or bad looks pretty much like scam to me.

The "Refund Policy" available on the website essentially states that there is NO refund. This is not surprising since the product looks good only in ads while in reality, it lacks a lot of functionalities available in other 3d software.

And the fact there is no way to test it before buying makes it a borderline scam

I was considering getting this program for the design of my new van after seeing countless ads on Facebook which made it look perfect. But thankfully I came here first and even if the application was perfect with all van models I can’t support a company who treats its customers the way I’ve seen here.

To the vanspace team, don’t worry about writing a reply to this, it’s not needed and only proves the point.
