Spamming me for a service I can do for free for my company on the Companies House website.

I didn't sign upto the mailing list so a breach of GDPR right there.

I received multiple emails from this company saying I had to verify my identity for a company I run. This part was true, companies house do now require this verification. The most recent email from verify client said the deadline was only days away. Stupidly on my part I didn’t check out the company first and assumed that the emails were from a companies house affiliated service and this was the way to verify my identity. I went through the process and paid £84. Surprised by the amount I’d had to pay I did some digging and found out that the deadline they had stated was incorrect, and the deadline for verifying was months away, and that this could be done at companies house just as easily and for no cost. The emails from the company were misleading and very pushy, using false deadlines and warnings of fines to push their service. I did then contact the company and they refunded my payment which was good. So not entirely a bad experience but if they approach you double check if they have really been instructed to verify your identity on behalf of another company or not.

I have been inundated with emails from this company, wanting me to pay for a service that is free to do on the government website. I am now being sent emails saying that I haven't verified, when I have verified. It all seems extremely dodgy.

Send out marketing emails to unrelated emails addresses even though they are supposed to be verification service !

Spamming to offer verification service which is freely provided by the government. What a scam.
