5 stars for Bernie - brilliant customer service
Called up with little-no idea about whether I could book a van with 3 child seats. However, Bernie from vroomvroomvroom was able to sort me out with a price, a car, clarified my insurance requirements and even confirmed with the hire car rep as to whether 3 seats could be fitted. Could not be happier with her - gold stars for customer service.

Easy to book through and actually saved us over $150 over 3 days booking through these guys than directly through the rental company.

Once again excellent service from zoom zoom zoom with Rhanney arranging our one way quote promptly and efficiently. We have subsequently booked for our month long road trip and are looking forward to the break away.

Hidden "exclusions" misleading quotes
I fell for their classic ripoff of quoting and booking at a reasonably cheap price of $38/day then went to pick up and was told the insurance excess was $3400 irrespective of fault. To reduce excess to zero required an additional $34/day.. so in reality the price was double at $72. When I complained they pointed to fine print terms and conditions hidden in a large page on a link. So while they may be covered legally (debatable) they are endeavouring to bait you with lower quote prices, a classic known rip-off tactic. Book with vroomvroomvroom or their partner Enterprise rentacar (Auckland) and be prepared to be stung.

All car rental rates displayed on our website along with the T&Cs for the rental vehicles and the excess amounts are determined by the car rental companies. When selecting a rental car you will find that the daily rate will not include the cost to have a reduced excess. This is something that most car rental companies will do separately outside of providing the daily cost for a rental car.
Once you have signed the Rental Agreement with the car rental company, that is a contract between yourself and them including any optional extras you choose to purchase upon arrival. We are sorry that you have had this experience and understand you may not have had a chance to read the T&Cs or the Important Information Box that is displayed within our booking flow.

Please do not book with these, been so stressful. The team do not listen, multiple employees call you and it is obvious that they do not communicate with each other. We were meant to collect our camper in Sydney which we could not get to because of the Norther beaches cluster, we called and they said a full refund was not possible because Sydney shop was open, we are from VIC so we could not get there. We were meant to be driving to Cairns. We asked if we could collect elsewhere and they said they had one from Brisbane to Cairns, we rescheduled flights and then they called to say it was actually only available from Brisbane to Brisbane and that we would need to pay an additional $800 for the only other vehicle avail. We asked for refund and they said it would take 8-12 weeks. So much more I could add in here, but overall disappointing services. They take ages to respond also. The manager was meant to call me back within the day and when I called again he had left for the day.

Frustrating but very helpful - no complaints whatsoever
Although I was unable to actually finalise my booking (booking made but payment interesting) and need to speak with the insurance people I was provided with exemplary service (and patience) by Riz.

Always found this site good but had to make a change and they went over and above sorting the booking and getting a better price. 10 out of 10 for service!

Dishonest company trying to trick you
Dishonest company trying to trick you. They offer insurance but do not provide this details to the rental companies resulting in being charged for insurance twice. CLEARLY they go through this a lot with their pathetic replies, stay clear. Another company trying to force you into transactions you don't want or need.

We're sorry for any confusion caused.
Rental Vehicle Excess insurance is offered as part of the booking process but it is optional and not compulsory. No cover is pre-selected by default so customers can proceed in booking their rental cars without purchasing insurance.
A policy confirmation email is also sent upon successful policy purchase advising that it is no longer necessary to purchase additional products from the rental desk upon collection of the rental car as the journey is already covered by your insurance policy which is an alternate to the excess reduction products sold at the rental desk.
Our insurance partner has advised that they have not received any correspondence regarding your policy but they will contact you within 1 business day to assist you further.
Cheeky cheeky
They lure you in with fair deals which happen to not be available after you book. They will give you alternatives of course but these are 4 times more expensive..

Reservation cancellation
I was trying to cancel my reservation but the website doesn't allow me to do it even after 3 tries. Some error pop-up keeps coming up. Thankfully, Riz on live chat assisted with the cancellation.

Would avoid
Booked a car back in July for a road trip of a lifetime from Brisbane to Melbourne (for November). Paid £460 when booking which thankfully was paid on credit card. Checked up on the booking yesterday to be told it had been cancelled - which we didn't do and received no confirmation of this. Thankfully Barclays are giving us money back. We contacted VroomVroomVroom and were told we cancelled the booking the day after placing it (which we didn't) and that money shouldn't be taken until arrival - however we went through a check out process on their website. THANK GOD we checked the booking so we have time to rectify this mistake. We would have been heartbroken arriving to Australia and not having a car to do our road trip.
