Very helpful manager.
I came this afternoon with my autistic son who asked to go swimming this morning, he never asks for swimming so I jumped at the chance to take him. Initially I tried to book dimensions as it's smaller but no joy with the online booking system so booked waterworld for 2.45. we arrived at 2.20 and went in, it was busy at the entrance and changing rooms but we walked into the pool area at 2.40. My son had a huge meltdown, it was busy, loud and hot. All the things he doesn't like so we didn't even make it to the pool before we left at 2.55. I spoke to the security who was by the turnstile to leave back to reception and explained we'd only been in for 10 minutes and possibly getting a return ticket. He pointed me to the manager, I regret not getting his name but he was a bald man with a football fidget toy. He was really kind and understanding. He gave my son the fidget toy to play with as we were talking. He sorted out a refund as I had only just walked in and let my son leave with the fidget toy. I've not been to waterworld for about 15 years and I've seen a lot of negative reviews but I can honestly say considering the experience of a very upset boy the staff I spoke to were kind and made time to talk to me even though it was really busy.
Dirty and overcrowded whistles being…
Dirty and overcrowded whistles being blown constantly to the point of not even knowing what's going on or what is going off. Long qué times and toilet cubicles flooded in water and what ever else is mixed into it also. Absolutely chaotic experience would definitely not recommend for the price paid
Dirty
Dirty, overcrowded & unsafe. I've worked in leisure for 20yrs in similar venues, I've never seen somewhere poorly financed & managed. The staff were young but did a great job battling the poor procedures & practices in place, dealing with aggressive customers, moping up sick, trying to organise the chaotic queues. Yes people don't read and are too lazy to, so make it easier, put labelling on the steps, cyclone queue keep right, tornado or whatever keep left. How than earth some of the electrics went through PAT testing I have no clue, and the capacity and ratio of lifeguards to people in the wave pool is a death waiting to happen.
terrible experience would not recommend i wish i could give 0 stars

Racism and corruption
The experience that ive received ruined the beautiful day that has been planned today. I feel as if I have been personally attacked along with all parts of the community that came with me to water world. I would say I have been shown prejudice and racism at firsthand. There was an autistic child that clearly had some issues. However, they treated this child with the utter most disrespect, instead of being more kind and caring towards that child. Then, a member of the community was called, and said to be the mother without any logic. She was a member of this community but was not this child's mother. They then have the audacity to demand the mother, to tell how a child must be with their parent no matter what. Later on, we was kicked out the pool, because apparently children were being left alone. An older responsible child would stay with the kids around their age, so a 14 year old would have a 11 or 10 year old with them. There was no problems whatsoever. And parents did go check up on everyone, and we were still the ones being kicked out. Children around their age wasn't told off or even spoken too but our kids was? Lastly, I would like to talk about the service. Staff were disrespectful, saying no without any explanations, and saying racial comments. A child was called a monkey because their skin? That is not right whatsoever to anyone. A child should not be exposed to any racial comments at all. That is not the rights we have in this country. Lastly, one specific parent was targeted. Talked to, spoken to, and eventually was kicked out. Apparently, because they are a group, that specific parent my have control of everyone, even the older ones. Police was informed and they didn't even get both sides. Completely disregarded our rights and went to the companies side straight away. No other family's there had to deal with this kind of problem and I dont want to say this because im not the type to make excuses. But as the only black Muslims, we was the ones kicked out and had rules constantly changing because of us? Police rushed us out the building and wouldn't even let us get the money back from the lockers. Is this the kind of country that we want. One filled with racism and corruption. Please consider these options before coming here

Misleading Booking Information and Poor Customer Service
I visited Waterworld on 15 August 2026 after driving 2.5 hours each way with my family, and unfortunately the experience was extremely disappointing.
When we arrived, we were told that session control was in place and that we could only stay 3 hours. This restriction was never clearly disclosed during booking, and only appeared after payment inside the ticket. Had I known this, I would never have travelled such a long distance.
I asked to speak with the manager, who repeatedly told me I “should have read the terms and conditions.” However, the T&Cs do not state that guests will be asked to leave after 3 hours — only that a minimum of 3 hours is guaranteed. That is not the same as a time limit, and it was not reasonably clear that our visit would be restricted.
To make matters worse, we spent around an hour queueing, leaving us with only 2 hours of actual use inside the park. Yet the booking system still sells a 10‑hour parking ticket, which strongly implies a longer visit.
Overall, the lack of clear information, the poor handling of the situation, and the dismissive response from management made this visit extremely frustrating. Waterworld needs to be far more transparent about session control and time limits, especially for families travelling long distances.
I would not recommend visiting during peak periods unless Waterworld improves its communication and booking transparency.
absolutely disgusting place to be for 3…
absolutely disgusting place to be for 3 hours, the Indian man with a brummy accent checking your bags on entrance to the building was rude, aggressive and was also witnessed being racist to 3-4 African women who had purchased ice-cream from the ice cream station in reception were accused of not paying even though the payment was paid via apple pay and the 2 employees confirmed this, he was saying racist comments and using foul language Infront of my children and others that were present, the 2 ladies behind the reception station witnessed the whole thing but claimed they did not hear or see anything, the changing area was disgusting, the toilets had poo and toilet paper on the floor, the outdoor pool has not been cleaned in over 12mths as the floor of the pool was ridden with BLACK scum that was floating throughout the pool, the floor area of the restaurant was very very slippery and many people were falling over the pizza's were very rubbery and had no taste what so ever and the child meal deals on the website is an absolute con as you do not get what you expect and it is not FULLY explained what you do get and the poolside staff are also very aggressive. overall the £155 i spent was an absolute waste of money. shame on you waterworld. we will not be using your facilities every again.
would not recommend this place
would not recommend this place. After waiting around 40 minutes in the queue, we were advised to pay for parking on the way out. We followed the instructions, entered our vehicle registration number into the machine, and made the payment successfully.
Despite this, a few days later we received a parking charge notice. I contacted the manager to explain what happened, but unfortunately no proper action was taken. I provided proof of payment to the parking company and submitted an appeal, but it was rejected.
The issue is still unresolved, and I feel very disappointed with the lack of support and customer service. A simple problem could have been resolved if the matter had been handled properly.
Please be careful and make sure you keep all payment evidence if you visit.
Avoid this place
Avoid this place. Staff aggressively stop you from certain rides without reason. My child of nine years old was also shouted at by a racist worker. Avoid.
Very disappointing experience.
Very disappointing experience.
The water park was extremely overcrowded, with very long queues for the slides. The hygiene standards were shocking – dirty floors everywhere, people swimming in regular clothes, and visitors walking around in outdoor shoes.
The changing rooms were chaotic, and there was no soap available before entering the pool area. We were also only informed about the time limit for our visit when we arrived at the entrance, which should have been made clear in advance.
In addition, we have seen multiple complaints from visitors who received parking fines weeks after their visit.
Overall, a poorly managed and unpleasant experience. We will never come back and would not recommend it.
Horrible lay out rubbish .not enough…
Horrible lay out rubbish .not enough staff and they let to many people in .all about the money .could of had stayed three hours we only done one hour .way way to many people felt dirty and queues were silly long . We spent 4 hours journey to go and one hour there 100 in fuel and over 100 for one hour there what a joke .never again will I go and I’ll tell everyone to avoid it .
Their investing in the park and you can…
Their investing in the park and you can see it. Repainted all of the slides and improved the eating area. The staff are very friendly and there are plenty of things to do. Sure a lot of people are complaining about disorganisation with the queuing but they've got to understand that all waterparks suffer with the same problem when it's busy. This park was opened in 1989 and I've been a few times to The Wave Coventry that was opened in 2020. They have the same problem with lots of signage but a lot of people not reading it and just doing whatever causing disorganisation with the queuing.
Beware of the outrageous ripoff parking…
Beware of the outrageous ripoff parking charges!
You arrive with the grandchildren after having paid a significant price online and find that you have to pay extra for parking. It charges you £3:00 - but you’re not warned that only buys you 2 hours 15 minutes. Three weeks later you get fined £60.00 because you actually spent 4 hours in the car park. You could have paid a little more upfront and avoided this but the machines don’t want you to know that. An absolute ripoff.
Very dirty and unsafe
The facilities are so dirty, you can genuinely see mould and some sort of brown residue forming on the tiles in both the floor and walls, not to mention the urine on the floor. I got a chest infection from visiting last year and it was terrible. I also think the water is horrifically cold and it is so dangerously overcrowded. Wouldn't reccomend going.
Why are people rating this a 1 star??
Why are people rating it a 1 star??
It is a perfectly fine water park and it is extremely fun. Sometimes, the water can be a bit cold but it is it pretty easy to get used to it. I don't really mind anyways because the outside pool has very warm water. The rides are so fun and the workers make sure that you're safe in every way. There was one slide where only good swimmers could go on (as it was 2m deep) and the worker was asking everyone in line if they could swim, which was very helpful. The food is not terrible. The ice cream and the pizza is perfectly fine.
Fantastic Family Day Out!
I’m so pleased I didn’t read these reviews before booking a family trip to Waterworld, our experience was the complete opposite to all these negative comments! Maybe we got lucky, maybe we are more laid back than average, maybe we read the car park instructions correctly! 🤷🏻♀️
Booked family ticket online, drove 3 1/2 hours, stayed in Hilton next door then arrived 11:30 on a Saturday.
Carpark, busy but big enough to easily find a space, plenty signs explaining parking charges but we had already read up on Waterworld website so knew what to expect! Paid £6 for up to ten hours, not great but a free or cheap carpark in that location would be taken advantage of leaving less spaces for actual customers.
Bag search, expected, polite, had a laugh with the staff, five stars!
Checked in at reception, explained first timers, was given directions and explained lockers, friendly, polite, professional, five stars!
Changing rooms, busy at one end, quiet at the other, huge space, plenty of available lockers, showers, mirrors, benches, spotlessly clean, five stars!
Wave pool, awesome! Waves come on regularly and last for five minutes or so. Depending where you are, it can be really choppy, expect a face full of water!
Not a fan? Stay near the shallow edge and still enjoy the smaller waves rolling in.
We were in the middle, it was busy but not over crowded, sometimes a small child would collide with you, then you’d both laugh and their grown ups would be looking apologetic whist try not to laugh out loud! Totally expected wave pool experience, five stars!
The slides, we tried them all! Queues varied, some had no waiting, some had five to ten minutes. Queues moved steadily, never felt cold, enjoyed chatting to other queuers and sharing experiences of which slides were our favourite!
Some slides were tame, some faster, some dark, some flashy lights, some you can wear goggles, some you can’t, a few will strip you of all dignity in the big splash at the bottom, but you don’t care because it’s such a laugh, just pull your swimwear back out your crack and carry on! All slides, in particular, The Nucleus, five stars!
Life guards, vigilant, friendly, engaging with visitors and plentiful! At least one, often more, at the top of every slide, and the bottom as well as dotted around the pool areas. I still made sure I was with or watching my 13 and 10 year old at all times but very reassured by the Life Guard team! Five stars!
The Rapids, like a human whirlpool! Absolute hoot! Expect to go flying, expect to bump into random strangers, expect to laugh out loud! Hilarious, five stars!
Bubble pools - didn’t try but, as the name suggests, it’s not a jacuzzi or hot tub just a nice place to chill out for a bit! They weren’t over crowded but we weren’t there to relax!
Outdoor pool, on a sunny 28* day the outdoor pool was great. Plenty of available sun loungers, shaded seating areas and the obligatory friendly yet vigilant life guards!
Expect an outdoor pool that is in England, not The Canary Islands and you won’t be disappointed, five stars!
Restaurant area! Plenty of options at prices you’d expect, it’s not cheap but not too extortionate, decent portion sizes and above expected quality! Adult cheese burger, fries and drink was £14 (I think) hot, fresh, tastey, decent size! Not the best burger of my life but did the job!
Queue to order food was slow! Undecided if that was a staffing, logistics or customers with a million questions and customisations problem. Food collection was super quick! Staff were polite, helpful and efficient!
Lots of people sat at tables without food and drinks, maybe waiting for someone else in the queue but still managed to find and table for four inside with plenty available seats outside. Wasn’t expecting a Michelin star experience therefore, five stars!
Cleanliness, like, genuinely spotless! Didn’t see any plasters, mould, clumps of hair, hair bobbles, false eyelashes or god forbid, a code brown situation! Every area was impressively clean! Above expectations!
I DID sit in a blob of ketchup on seat in restaurant area, maybe it was a previous customer, maybe it was my kids, they certainly found it funny therefore, five stars!
Only personal negative was the echoing noise levels you experience at places like this. It was a bit overwhelming for little one’s sensory ears, we will bring ear defenders next time (ear plugs won’t be tolerated).
Our whole family enjoyed every moment!
If you love water parks, like us, then we highly recommend Waterworld!
Not safe, too crowded.
Overcrowded and unsafe and there didn’t seem to be enough staff to monitor the number of people in there. It was ridiculous, reckless and dangerous. Just sheer greed taking peoples money and not effectively managing the number of people.
