Complete shambles

Waited a week and a half for an appointment. I had a lot of play in my steering so I asked them if they could sort it.
I expect diagnosing and sorting this would normally take two hours, but they had my car for two days, so I had to take the second day off work.
The gentleman said he was going to diagnose the issue and sort it.
I expected it could be the steering rack inner joint as it was an advisory on previous MOT, but they changed an outer joint and my drivers side suspension arm, which was perfectly fine.
The gentleman said it was all sorted, the steering is great.
The steering wasn't great. Get car back and its exactly the same, play in steering wheel.
Didn't do a wheel alignment, which would have been the cheapest and best place to start, no diagnostic fee charged, so no-one diagnosed anything they just did a few things, hoping they would work.
Labour is £60 an hour.
Not from area, so took a gamble on a garage and lost bad.
Wouldn't go back here if someone paid me.

Terrible for Disabled Customers

My wife and I attended to enquiry about a new Skoda SUV and we couldn't find a parking space and more so a disabled parking bay.

I abandoned the car and we walked in. They did not have what we wanted to see in the the showroom. We were just about to walk out when we were stopped by a man in a suit.

He was polite but when asked about the disabled parking space he told us that they were being used to store new cars for customers. So your disabled customers come second place?

Well, I am sorry but that's of no use to a disabled customer in a wheelchair.

You very nearly got a sale but no! My money is safe in the bank and not going West End Garage way ever again.

No warranty on second hand car if it is going to be a taxi

Went into west end Skoda Dunfermline and bought a Skoda superb after 1 day door handle came away and wouldn’t work so went back and Wes told by the manager I would have to book this in to get fixed I told him no want it done toss it was a taxi now and can’t be off the road as only car after about 30 mins arguing with him the mechanic came out and he new what was wrong took car away and fixed it with in 5 mins came back to me and the manager tried the door for it to happen again took it back round to garage and got it fixed properly. After almost 4 weeks the other door would not lock a tall so phoned spoke to the sales man sonnie who I bought the car from and he spoke to someone and they sent me an email saying I would have to book it in to see what was wrong with it and it would cost me £115 then the cost of repair on top of this so I phoned back and said that the car would still be under warranty and then was told there was no warranty as it is a taxi I was not told this at the time there would be no warranty with the car so i said I would go and seek advice and put it on there Facebook page that no taxis get a warranty from them and they don’t tell you this at the time and he replied back to me saying please yourself and do what you want I then asked him if would get a manager to phone me this was 2 weeks ago and still no one has got in touch I have asked about and the actuator in the door has broke and will cost me £300 to fix it please be careful when buying from here and make sure there is a warranty and any taxi company please consider buying else were

Just bought a karoq from West end…

Just bought a karoq from West end Stirling and bruce the salesman was excellent, everything was handled very easily and am delighted with my purchase, would definitely buy again from them and have no hesitation in passing on to my friends

I bought a Skoda Rapid in June 2016 and…

I bought a Skoda Rapid in June 2016 and around 2 years later the paintwork on the bonnet became defective.
I asked to have it repaired under warranty and the car was checked over at Pullman Skoda Durham. Electronic paint gauges we're used on the bonnet and I was advised it was previously repaired. There was no mention of this by West End Skoda before or after purchasing the car.
The warranty claim was refused and upon further investigation I was advised that Skoda UK and West End Skoda do not check vehicles for any undisclosed repairs or accident damage. I was also advised it was my fault for not checking the car properly before buying it (using specialist body shop equipment).
The used approved scheme is a waste of time and money, plus it leaves customers open to buying a car that has been crashed, repaired and not recorded as such.

PLEASE AVOID!

PLEASE AVOID!! After £2580.00 was spent repairing my Seat Alhambra power steering fault, the car only lasted a week and it broke down with the same exact fault while I was with my family including 3 children. West End Garage are not owning up and not willing to even help in getting the car repaired. They have either mis-diagnosed the fault or not repaired it correctly and are not interested unless I pay. I am shocked with this. How can you charge £2580 for the same fault to happen again and get away with it!! This is not fair!

Whilst I am generally pessimistic about service in the car trade, I have been very pleasantly surprised how well West End Kia dealt with the fault on my Sportage which rendered it totally immobile. Once it was offloaded from the recovery truck they kept me informed, gave me a loan car and fixed the problem within much less time than planned. Excellent customer service from Nav Thabal in service and Paul Plaskwa in rentals. Many thanks guys, you did a great job.

I got in touch with West end Skoda in…

I got in touch with West end Skoda in mid may. I spoke with Archie, I was in a bit of a tight spot looking for a new vehicle quickly! Archie went over and above to help me out and find me a car that would be suitable and although I ultimately did not go through with the purchase due to finding another more suitable car he was very understanding about this! All round it was a great experience from start to finish contacting West End Skoda, wouldn't hesitate to recommend to family, friend's or anyone else! Thank you again for all your help!

Wont but from here again ...

Wont be back. Purchased a cracking Fabia brand new 2 years ago. Car is great but admin terrible. email address and DOB record wrong so no access to any purchase or subsequent service plan documentation or anything. Eventually fixed that but bought a new service plan in January and it appears they just made up key details which again screwed my account with VWFS - five times was promised byt branch service dept staff it was fixed. Last try today when at least someone admitted they had screwed it up but then said we had to fix it ourselves with VWFS. Customer Lost (apart from the 2 services I am due for my invisible service plan of course).

Very Unprofessional

For a motor trade company they should have a drug policy in place.

Unacceptable when member of staff (male service advisor Thomas) takes drugs yet able to still work and be responsible for moving cars etc.

I know this for a fact I’ve witnessed this person off their face! He’s also stated their not the only member of staff that takes drugs.
So very concerning that the company wouldn’t do anything about it considering I told one of the management that they ought to be drug testing his staff for the safety of other staff and the customers!
Instead they trying to cover it up n get the reviews deleted!

Was in the branch on Monday to look at some cars as we are needing a second car for work
While there I was utterly embarrassed by what I was welcomed with
Shouting and screaming one woman seemed to be shouting in the service & parts area . What was said was about the 2 members of staff having an affair and taking drugs, I’ll not repeat the rest as I was completely shocked .
All I can say is I’m glad I hadn’t brought my child with me that day.
Maybe your staff need more training on etiquette or even just better professionalism . Not what I’d expect of a top rated dealer to have no family morals
Needless to say I left and will not be returning.

8 weeks and counting to resolve an issue with brand new car

After having the car for 4 months, a noise started to develop in the steering and after another month of this, I decided to get the car booked into the garage (Skoda Edinburgh Sighthill)

They couldn't find the noise and I was told to come and collect the car but they offered a technician to come out with me which I agreed on and it was then concluded there was an unusual noise coming from the steering.

I was happy with a courtesy car in the meantime thinking that this issue would not take too long to resolve. After a couple of weeks, I decided to ask If there was an auto as my wife isn't confident driving manuals. We eventually managed to get a Auto superb to use and I was fine with this for the time being. Another couple of weeks pass and I eventually contact the garage. I am informed they are waiting on the green light to fit a new gearbox as that seems to be the problem.

Week 7 of not having our car and I am honestly at breaking point as I have been informed that the gearbox has been changed yet the noise is still there and they are now waiting from skoda to find out what the next plan of action is.

I have contaced head office and also Matthew Bowden, who have responded and said it will be sorted

Week 8, no further updates from the week before. Been left in the dark

I have contacted customer service about this asking how it is fair to be paying almost £400 a month for a car we have not had which is looking to be coming up for 2 months now. Customer service have advised I contact the garage direct about this which I have and they have said there is nothing they can do and to contact customer service so it really seems to be going in roundabouts.

This is our first time purchasing a Skoda and honestly, how we have been treated has been appalling.

We have had so many instances where we require the 7 seats and the superb only has 5 which has been another issue we have had to deal with.

All I get from the service manager is apologies and they will call me tomorrow with an update and then that call never comes.

If you are looking for a new vehicle, go elsewhere, everything is all lovely when buying, getting the tea and coffee treatment etc but when you have a problem. It will be for a long time.

While my car was in west end Skoda…the starter motor mysteriously failed

While my car was in west end Skoda Edinburgh for a new clutch the , up until then perfectly good starter motor, was deemed to be full of clutch dust,! and inoperative so I had to purchase a new one, at £106 to redeem my car. As I didnt beleive the "dust"story" I retained the old motor and dismantled it to find that the internals had been damaged by the meccanics method of removal of the connecting wire, a delicate connection which requires finesse and hand tools to acomplish without damage, not a power tool.
I contacted West end garage Skoda and put this to them and that they should refund me the cost of the new starter motor but the service mamager, Claire Anderson refused. After writing to the CEO of the company I was offered £50, but they accepted no responsibility for damaging the motor, I find this an unacceptable way for a company to operate and refused. It seems to me that this may be happening quite often to people who are not meccanically aware
I would never use West end garage Skoda again

SEAT owners beware

My 2012 Seat Leon broke down, and it was towed here as it's a recognised SEAT dealer/mechanic. I was told about 3 faults with the car, and they needed to order in a part from Spain and explained it would take up to 10 working days. Cool, this was no problem, I'm aware there's delays in such things.

We had to chase them for 8 weeks, until they finally said the part was lost and ordering a new one was not an option. They said they could instead order another (better AND cheaper part) and have it ready the next day..... this option wasn't presented to us in the 8 weeks my car was sat waiting at the garage. The staff repeatedly didn't pick up the phone or said they would call back and never did in this 8 week period.

Less than a week after getting it back the same error occurred and again the car was towed to this garage. The staff were completely unaware of the Seat own car policies. The staff were unhelpful and not forthcoming with information as to when they would even look at it. Customer service was terrible, even more so given the hassle we've had and clearly the issue is not fixed.

Once my car is returned to me, I am never taking it back to this dealership and Seat owners beware!

Don't expect the salesperson to have product knowledge!

After nightmare puncture experiences of being stuck somewhere waiting for a tyre to be delivered to the repair shop a full size spare was a major issue on a new vehicle purchase. After asking for this I was repeatedly assured that the car had a full size spare. Foolishly took the sales person's word for it but when I got it home and checked it wasn't. I got back in touch and was offered another spare wheel being told that it had been taken from another vehicle so was ok to drive at full speed as it didn't have the stickers on. I asked for photographs, it wasn't full size to the purchased vehicle so the direction that it could be used for normal driving was down right dangerous.
I checked on the internet to discover a full size spare was unavailable for this vehicle.
Moral of the story never believe a salesman
this particular guy hàd very poor product knowledge.
After filling out a post purchase questionnaire from Skoda I heard nothing more which denotes disinterest.
I have purchased an alloy and appropriate tyre to create a full size spare for peace of mind but I won't be going back!

Had to book my car into the service…

Had to book my car into the service department for new locking wheel nuts...I asked them if they had a matching set which would only have cost me £40. Told them.if they didnt have a matching set to replace them ..cost £48.
Charged me £88. When I got home, it was exactly the same set which I could have and would have changed myself...ripped off for £48 / 30 minutes work..service manager was supposed to phone me but never....really poor. Wont have any future business
