We were really impressed with Xytron service and knowledge. They managed to recover all our data after unsuccessful attempts by others. I can highly recommend.

My Macbook Hard Disk crashed without warning and I had important family photo's not backed up elsewhere. I took my machine to various local computer 'repair' shops who all failed to recover anything. I was recommended to try Xytron as a specialist data recovery firm. They succeeded where all others failed i have now received all of my data back.

I would highly recommend them as a trusted supplier and have been delighted with their service and integrity.

External hard drive containing valuable archive data had failed. Xytron were very responsive and quickly diagnosed the issue, repaired the drive and recovered the data.

Richard and the team at Xytron did a great job at getting back my precious data. I did a lot of research and shopped around a great deal before choosing to go with them, not least on the basis of positive reviews. They explained the process clearly, sent me a link to my files to view what had been recovered before I chose to go ahead, delivered my data to me in record time ahead of schedule, and followed up to check that I had downloaded my data successfully and was satisfied with their service. Excellent all round.

Two things would have made it 5 stars. Firstly the cost; and to that extent my complaint is less against Xytron and more the industry in general, which I sense is profiteering on the misfortune of those who have lost data. I can imagine that sometimes a high cost is warranted but it seems to be the case all the time, even for quick and easy jobs. Secondly, and related, the explanation of why the costs were high was a little lacking. I had researched and identified that the probable issue with my disc was a PCB error and I knew the cost of this. The range that Xytron quoted me included a benchmarked cost for PCB errors, but ultimately I was charged at the higher end of their quote. I did ask for an explanation as to what was wrong with the disc and was told it was multiple things. I take this in good faith. However, it would have increased my confidence as a customer of Xytron if it was explained to me more clearly what was wrong so that I could have acknowledged that the cost was indeed fair, and it wasn't simply that I was being charged at the upper end of the range opportunistically. I trust Xytron and the team and they did a fantastic job. I think they could simply make their pricing model a little more transparent to help increase faith in their work. Overall, I would definitely recommend their service.

My wife's Dell computer died and got into an endless loop every time we tried to start it up. It had a partition error, tried to correct itself, but could only get 30% of the way through before grinding to a halt. Her backup arrangements had not been set up properly and all her work was on her hard drive...
My first impression when I spoke to Richard at Xytron was of sympathy, courteousness, understanding and quiet confidence in his ability. He talked me through the process and I did not hesitate. Within 48 hours they had diagnosed the problem, retrieved *ALL* of the data, and confirmed that the problem was not repairable. He also gave advice about what hardware to replace the system with to minimize breakdown again, and stayed a little late for me to get there and pick up the computer. It took 24 hours to download all the data from their secure server, but the look on my wife's face when she saw it was priceless!
I sincerely hope that I never need to use their services again, but if I did have to I would not hesitate.
Not cheap, but well worth the money. I recommend unreservedly.

[PS edit: just to confirm that I have *no connection at all* with Xytron; I used them as a result of suggestion by a friend - who also has no connection with them - he had been very impressed by their service]

(The laptop was sent to an insurance company validation service who confirmed that they only established it wasn't working)!

"We believe the PCB has been changed and the one supplied isn’t the original one. Could you look to ask the previous company if the PCB can be located?"

"In terms of a recovery fee, if we did manage to gain access to what you need, a fee estimate is around £1,500 + VAT."

(How much?!!)

The disk was returned to me so I could get a second opinion. The second company carried out the repair without issue, recovering nearly all the data for a third of the estimated cost!

In response: Once again the drive had not been sent to any Data Recovery company prior to being sent to you.
Also surely the information you provide to a potential client is as important to them as how you deal with them as a paying client?
I am sorry you have felt the need to react to my observations in such a heavy handed manner.

We had 2 other techies try to get our data back without success.
A friend found Xytron and they were incredibly helpful and reassuring on the phone. They gave us a quote within 24 hours which was very reasonable. We used the DHL collection and delivery - worked well. Most importantly they recovered ALL our data!!

Richard and the team were up front with their charges and managed to get all my precious data off my broken hard drive, in under a week, videos of the children growing up etc. Xytron were extremely helpful.
There's a lot of dodgy people out there, if you want peace of mind, I'd use these guys, they have the best reviews which says a lot.
Now I'm making duplicate copies of everything, lesson learnt.

We suffered a hard disk crash and lost all our data. Owing to the very positive reviews on Trustpilot we contacted Xytron for a quotation for recovery and the provision of a new hard drive. The costs were very reasonable considering the amount of data we had lost. The service and communications we received from Xytron was absolutely excellent and all told our data was recovered and returned to us within a week. Good fair price. Quick turn around. Dealt with a couple of issues (my fault) with ease. I took a long time researching who to use and to avoid other companies who seemed like scammers and could not be happier with the service I received. I was fully informed by emails from Richard through the entire process and was given timelines ect. All my data was also fully recovered. Hopefully I've learnt my "backing up" lesson now but if I ever needed more data revived I would not even consider looking anywhere else and you shouldn't either. I hope this helps someone make up their mind of who to use!

A laptop platter disk had suffered damage when it fell of a work-surface, with the head scratching one of the platters, I believe. Xytron were able to recover the ful set of information for us, and were very helpful, explaining all the steps along the way.

They undertake a free survey of the disk, only charging if they successfully recover the data, which is a customer-friendly way to do business, I think.

They offered two options for delivering the data : putting it up on the internet (free), or shipping on a USB hard-drive (cost extra, but must only cover the cost of the disk plus courier, I reckon)

I would use them again (but hopefully have learned the lesson of backing up everything!!), and recommend them to anyone else in this situation.

A WD MyBook external hard drive containing archived data stopped working after being detached and reconnected. Harsh clicking noises sounded ominous. After initial enquiries to Xytron I posted the drive to them. Within 10 days (during which they reported progress at each step of the way and asked permission to proceed) they had recovered all my data and returned it to me on a new drive. Superb service.

I found Xytron polite, professional, trustworthy and able to help restore my data which was everything I was looking for. Just perfect.
