I might die without my favorite shampoo and conditioner bars. The story behind the bars is what initially pulled me in. I’ll be a customer for life. I have fine thin hair and sensitive skin to top it off. Not only has this product line saved the integrity of my hair. But my hair had never been strong enough to grown longer than my shoulders it’s now to my lower back. This isn’t paid I’m a real person with a real story and this product has not only helped my hair but it helped me regain my confidence. I would highly recommended this product to anyone.

I’ve been using the shampoo and conditioner since January 2023 it’s now October 2023.

Not only is the product great but so is the customer service. My package got lost once no movement or updates. I contacted customer care and they were so quick to help me and send out a new package ASAP.

I absolutely love this company, the story, and the people who help make it all possible. Thank you for saving my hair and my confidence.

I've been using Yao Secret bars for a couple of weeks now and I'm pretty impressed with my results so far! I have medium-length combination hair that tends to get oily at the roots and dry at the ends since I colour it often.

Since switching to the bars I feel like my scalp is more balanced, it feels moisturized, but neither too dry nor too oily. I wish I hadn't put off using bars for so long, they're actually much simpler to use than I thought they would be, plus it's helping me fulfil my resolution to become more sustainable.

Worthless product. The shampoo and conditioner bars do t lather, so it takes an impossible amount of time just trying to get something to distribute through the hair. Since it’s not liquid and doesn’t create a lather, it only affects the few strands it can get to. Customer service never responded to my inquiry. Very expensive product and definitely not worth the fight in the shower with every use. Save your money.

The bar was surprisingly small. It did feel very good and I love all about it, however just after 2 weeks it broke in half and is visibly smaller. I wash my hair twice a week. I can’t afford to continue buying this one.

De shampoo vind ik wel fijn,de condioner iets minder.Mijn haar spoest er erg van.Maar mijn haar groeit echt niet sneller maar ik vind het fijn dat er geen rotzooi inzit,daarom blijf ik deze gebruiken.Ik wou dat ik zo,n haar had als die meiden op dat filmpje.

Hab gedacht, dass es ein Schuss in den Ofen wird, aber wurde eines besseren belehrt!! Haare normal kämmbar trotz harten Wassers, nicht beschwert und schmierig durch conditioner, seidig und fest. Einfach angenehm anzufassen. Neutraler Geruch nach dem waschen. Klare Empfehlung von mir. Ich hoffe, man kann es noch lange kaufen!

I've got 4C afrio hair and most shampoos are way too harsh. But these bars? So gentle and nourishing on my coils.

The conditioner bar melted right through my kinks for easy detangling. And my curls were bouncy and defined after, not dried out.

I'm telling you, my hair was happy! The shampoo cleaned without stripping and the conditioner had that good slip.

These bars are a win for 4C naturals needing gentle care. My coils love them so these bars are sticking around!

Shampoo can be good, and its composition may be natural. But I would like to add some criticism about the advertising when they show long-haired women from Longji, China washing their hair in rice water or using rice shampoo. Many women, when watching this advertisement, think, 'So that's the secret to their thick and long hair - rice shampoo!' But one should not give such hope to women dreaming of growing long hair... because the secret to the longest hair in women of this tribe simply lies in their DNA, as Mother Nature genetically endowed them with a long anagen phase. This hair growth stage allows them to grow to a certain length. For some, this phase is genetically short, and for others, it's long. Apparently, for these women from this village, there is a prolonged anagen growth phase, but it has nothing to do with the use of rice shampoo. So stop misleading people.

Viele Frauen denken, wenn sie diese Werbung sehen: "Das Geheimnis ihrer dicken und langen Haare liegt also im Reisshampoo!" Aber man sollte Frauen, die davon träumen, lange Haare wachsen zu lassen, keine solche Hoffnung geben ... denn das Geheimnis der längsten Haare bei Frauen dieses Stammes liegt einfach in ihrer DNA, denn die Natur hat sie genetisch mit einer langen Anagen-Phase ausgestattet. I have used ‘fancy brand’ shampoos in my quest for the best! My hair can be greasy at the roots and drier at the ends - its fine, long, coloured red.

Shampoo bar lathers beautifully- i rub it on my hand until lather turns more creamy then massage that into my hair.

The conditioner turns into a lovely milky fluid, i rub the bar through my ends and run my hands through the lengths

Results are shiny healthy silky hair - love

I've been wanting to try fermented rice water on my hair for a long time. I tried making it myself but that didn't go too well... So I was happy to discover Yao Secret. Finally an easy to use solution that ships from the EU.

Shipping was a little slow (10 days in the EU) but still within an acceptable rate.

The products seem amazing. I got a rice water shampoo bar + conditioner bar combo. Both products came with a foaming net / storage bag which I was pleased to discover! This is a small addition that still changes the game so much, I wish all solid shampoo manufacturers did the same.

The shampoo bar lathered very nicely with the net and my hair felt clean afterwards. For the conditioner, I didn't find the net as useful because it's less foamy, so I just took it out of the bag to get enough of the conditioner. It still worked way better than most solid conditioners I've tried. My hair felt soft and easy to comb through afterwards.

I'm excited to see how they will work for my hair in the long run. Definitely going to order again in the future.

and I am really happy that I found these. At first you kinda need to get used to the bar because its obviously very different than liquid shampoo but once you have the hang of it its pretty simple. I would really recommend buying them and I will definitely stick to these from now on.

My husband bought me these products after making rice-water myself at home. This review is on black hair - natural, curly. The shampoo worked great, my hair and scalp looked and felt clean, without drying my hair. The conditioner made my hair as soft as I can remember it ever being, and after rinsing - my curls were very defined. I'm pleasantly surprised! Will order again.

Was gifted a set of the shampoo and conditioner bar from a friend who's a fan. Was quite skeptical but seeing her hair getting smoother and shinier got me curious about them. This is my first time using a shampoo bar and I must say it does take a while getting used to. The results - exactly what I was told! My hair is considered frizzy and after using the bars for a week I can feel my hair getting smoother and become more manageable. I also like the very mild nature scent of the bar - very refreshing and rejuvenating. Go green products! I actually think I might be a convert now LOL.

Unfortunately my package got stuck, so I e-mailed their customer service and they sent me a new one within a couple of days! Also love the products, have been using them for a while now and I will definitely order here again :)

I had hight expectations after a friend recommended the products and reading reviews. I followed the instructions as described when using the bars. My hair did not feel or look better after washing it a few times with the bars. I thought maybe it would get better after a week or two, but no. My hair felt stiff, flat and not soft or fluffy. I do not think this fits oily scalp and thin hair. I wanted to return the products as it was waste of money, but you don't get a full refund, as they deduct a small percentage fee and for sending costs.

not for me, absolutely rubbish, after washing my hair with the soap my hair was dry like straws, couldnt even brush it, had to wash again with my normal shampoo, waste of money. will be nice if i can return it and get my refund

I like both the shampoo and the conditioner. However, I was very disappointed that the bars are wrapped in plastic, and the foaming net which comes with the bar is made of synthetic, so therefore I can't give more than three stars. One of the main reasons for using shampoo and conditioner in a solid form is to avoid plastic. And if I buy the product again I will get another foaming net - what am I supposed to do with the one I already have - throw it away? There are other suppliers on the market who offer 100% plastic-free purchases, so I hope Yao Secret will also consider it.

The shampoo and conditioner are making my hair flawless! They make my hair feel better, silkier and stronger just after one use. Definitely beats any other products have tried. My order also got stuck during the delivery but they sent me a new one. Totally recommend!
