Left Georgia last year. Needed to make the switch official. Process was quick, bank accepted the address which was my main concern.

Very efficient. They helped me work around the time zone scheduling, address works with all my US accounts, should be done with NY taxes after this filing year, whole thing was done in maybe 12 days.

Hopefully I get to keep the tax that Louisiana was taking for longer than I care to admit which has always bothered me because I hardly spend time there anymore. ok so i was paying new york state taxes for years and just kind of accepted it as the cost of living there even tho i moved out two years ago. my accountant kept telling me i needed to officially change my residency but i never got around to it. finally found yourtaxbase through a reddit thread and signed up. the whole thing was way less painful than i thought it would be. they handle basically everything and walk you through the stuff you do need to do yourself. been a few months now and its all been smooth. kinda mad at myself for not doing this last tax season tbh. if you left new york but never changed your tax situation you are literally throwing money away every paycheck btw

I've been down in south America the past few years, so all my mail was just going to my mother-in-law's house. Felt pretty crappy always asking her to open stuff and send me pictures, and don't get me started on paying state tax for a state i'm basically never in.
