Bought a new VW Tiguan

Bought a new VW Tiguan from them which due to its built in tech takes a lot of setting up for you personally.
The sales team are aware of this and only too eager to help this process if you run in to difficulties yourself

Delivered within the window and was kept informed all the way through. Delivery guy even took the mattress upstairs for me

new wiper blades don’t fit my car

Wanted new wiper blades for my 2019 Mazda 6 sport. There was no guide in the wiper blade department so went to the checkout at the Blackpool store. I gave them my reg and they got me the Bosch wiper blades. I took them home to fit myself and found out that they were for a hook connection type that my Mazda 6 does not have. I had to go back to get them to check. They confirmed what the Halfords database said was the wipers I needed and they had to go check for themselves that it was the wrong connection type.
They confirmed they didn’t fit and said their database must be incorrect. They looked at my old wiper blades and said “we don’t do these” so I got a refund, but had two wasted journeys there!

Just seen the reply from Halfords. I DONT have an order number as I went in store myself!

Your database for the wipers for post 2018 Mazda 6 models is out of date and you need to fix it! The suggested Bosch SP24/18 wipers require a j-hook connection and the Mazda 6 has a special push button connection.

Zante

Restaurants in zante were good and not too expensive. Canadian Hotel was too noisy though.

Had a washer dryer from appliances…

Had a washer dryer from appliances direct on order. Had to pay extra for next day delivery and installation to be carried out by ArrowXL. They arrived on time and were quite polite. I explained that the area had been cleared but the routing of the hoses was tight. I had to assist them in getting the hoses through to the connection points and how to push the dryer underneath the kitchen workbench. They explained that the installation was a fixed length of time and they nearly gave up but eventually got it in place. The installation did not cover the full install instructions in the manual such as levelling the appliance. They put it on a short wash took a photo and left. The short wash failed to complete and after numerous calls to the supplier and the manufacturer they said it was likely that the hoses had got kinked during the install process. The supplier, appliances direct, is now sending out a different firm to try to reinstall.
I was quite taken aback when they said the install did not include fully tightening the waste water output pipe as that involved using a screwdriver and then would not level the appliance as that involved using a spanner!

Malaga 6+4+1 rattan garden furniture

I ordered the Malaga 6+4+1 rattan garden furniture set.
It was delivered as 4 separate packages, 2 on one day and 2 the following day but all within 5 working days even though it comes from Germany.
Instructions were relatively easy to follow but I had to refer the website pictures in order to get the chairs correct.
It did take a long time to assemble with the supplied tools.
The only downside is that the “S5” M6 15mm screws that the instructions call up for fitting the table legs to the table top are too short due to the thickness of the rattan. I replaced these with a pack of M6 20mm screws for under £6 which did the job well.
It’s definitely worth taking a bit of time over the assembly especially with the chairs.
It looks good once assembled and will be used in my conservatory for summer dining.
It’s worth the price when compared to local garden centre rattan sets around the £2000 mark and as “cube’ furniture it packs away quite neatly.

Helpful staff let down by their computer system for organisation of finance

Saw a reply from Bensons asking me to call03332226800. Tried that and after going through a few automated menus was told I was in a queue for over 30 minutes. This just reinforces my initial experience

Large LED TV delivered with no fuss

I ordered a large Sony LED TV from Richer Sounds in Preston and they got BJS Distribution to deliver it for me. I got an email from them confirming the goods and a 3 hour delivery window on the saturday. They called a half hour before delivery and were well within that window even though they had driven up the notorious M6 from Birmingham on a bank holiday weekend! The Tv was brought into my living room and unpacked to check that the screen was undamaged which i was happy to confirm. No fuss with the delivery at all, just what i'd expect from that sort of service
