LendingTree’s Predatory Practices Destroyed My Hope and Harmed Small Businesses — Be Cautious
As a small business owner, I discovered LendingTree through a government loan program they advertise as a trusted partner the branding logo and reviews. With a stack of referrals in hand, I reached out, expecting clarity and support.
Instead, I faced repeated dismissals. I made it clear I only wanted the specific government program and not SBA 7(a), Business Credit, Equipment or Micro Loans. Despite this, agents continuously pushed those other loans and transferred me over and over again, more than four times. Each time I asked them to verify internally, the LendingTree reps persistently told me no.
Eventually, an agent that kept telling me no they don’t support the government program admitted they do handle the program, but by then, my trust and hope were completely gone.
The experience was not just frustrating; it felt belittling and predatory. As a small business, it’s disheartening to see a platform that’s supposed to support us engage in practices that may even violate federal protections.
To other small business owners: Be CAUTIOUS!!
Do your due diligence and verify the exact financial product or program you need before engaging with LendingTree.
Their practices do not appear to support small businesses’ best interests — do not accept whatever they push on you.
If you know what you need, insist on it or walk away.
LendingTree’s handling of my inquiry destroyed my trust, faith, and hope.
Even though they have the marketing on the program and their website, logo, branding, but the experience do not match.
I don’t appreciate disrespect and dismissal, I won’t stand for it — so I walked away to protect my peace of mind they took and wasted my time and energy to start the process
Reader, be cautious and do your due diligence before investing in LendingTree’s platform. They have no kindness or respect, only a dismissive attitude towards their best interests.
