King of Gyms no doubt! Great experience, friendly front of house and best trainers! Everything is well-thought through, got particularly pleased by small details like post-workout eucalyptus towels.

This was my first class at 1Rebel and I was honestly made to feel so welcome!! The instructor was enthusiastic and really managed to get the best out of me.

Can’t wait for my next class!

Imagine being charged a no-show fee for a pre-booked class you failed to attend due to catching COVID. A class you had already paid for, not as an Unlimited class member but someone who bought a package of classes. The equivalent would be the train company charging you a no-show fee for not making your train. The penalty is that you lose your pass/ticket. Charging a no-show fee is unreasonable. Shame that you took a respectful, friendly local gym like Core Collective (St Johns's Wood) and turned it into a scammy corporation. Enjoy the 15 quid.

Trainers are great though.

I have been very disappointed with 1rebel's customer care. I have recently tried their pilates class (which was not bad, but maybe not worth the price in my opinion) and left my trainers in the workout room (it was my first class, did not know trainers were not used). I realized this as soon as I got home and called them the following morning. I was happy to hear my trainers were found. They then registered them on a lost property notebook. When I came to collect it (the exact date I mentioned on the call I would come, which they confirmed to be before the time limit by which they keep left behind items), my trainers were not found. They questioned whether the entry in their lost property notebook was actually mine and whether I had called in (after that, I sent them the print screen showing the call - which I would have never have imagined would be needed). It took several weeks for them to offer me the exact number of classes that would add up to the value of the trainers. Their position was still that they had no responsibility in what happened and that the compensation they offered was more than enough. Honestly, I would have expected a more respectful attitude to begin with (which they did not change even after I provided proof). Besides, I expected a better compensation given that the cost they incurred is a lot lower than the value of the trainers (and I would have not chosen to buy the sessions for the price they charge).

Arrived 1 minute late (yes 1 minute) to a class and reception didn't want to let me in, no flexibility whatsoever. Staff was rigid, not empathetic nor apologetic.
Obviously no refund or anything, and when you ask them to escalate your case or put a complaint they tell you to write an email

Due to last minute work demands I could not attend two classes I had booked in 1 day.

I lost the credits for the classes I couldn't attend (fair enough) but then they CHARGED ME AN ADDITIONAL £15 PER CLASS MISSED. I had forgotten about this rule in the small print as I have never missed a class before.

I love the classes but this ridiculous rule leaves a very bitter taste in the mouth after years of paying for classes.

I arrived 3 minutes early for my class and the man at the reception wouldn't let me in because it was my first time and supposedly I should have arrived 5 minutes earlier because of that. Whilst I was talking to him another woman arrived who had used this gym before - she arrived literally 1 minute before the start of the session and he didn't let her in either because the door of the studio had just closed and once the door is closed you cannot go in. The man said it was written in their terms and conditions but I think if you have such policies and refuse people entry even when they are on time you need to put this in big letters at a very visible place on your website! I go to the gym to destress not to feel like I have to catch a train. It should be up to me if I want to attend the whole session or the last five minutes of it.

Treating customers like this is extremely off-putting as a result I don't ever want to go back which is a shame because maybe I would have liked their classes.

Quite ironic indeed that a company that has chosen to call itself rebel is imposing such absurd “Rules” on its clients - trying to impose such absurd norms of promptness is quite the opposite of the spirit of rebellion don’t you think?

Suggestion: this gym has to make it very clear at a very visible place they have such unorthodox policies or even better abolish them altogether!

Rude, unhelpful staff. Instructor complained numerous times about how they were tired, which was not motivating. The console on my bike stopped working half way through the class. changing room was so cramped (nice products, i guss that is what we pay for)
I thought for the price that the instruction would be amazing or the staff would be amazing. Neither were true. No central point to provide feedback to. 53% of reviews on here at bad or poor, so...

So: let's be clear here. The trainers at 1Rebel are amazing. AMAZING. But the front of house and the management are terrible. No '1Rebel' community there. Disinterested. Unconnected. No human or 'member' vibe. I've left Angel twice because of this. And now I leave it again. There are much more authentic, appreciative ways to spend your training energy, time and money. Do not do it here.

I really like your toiletries in the showers! May I ask what brands do you have as shampoo and conditioner?

What an appalling customer service, rude, arrogancy to its maximum expression. I have never seen anything like this. I have tried to escalate my challenges and I keep hearing from different people who seem to have no authority. Pandemic meant nothing for this people.

Despite the mixed reviews on here, I'm a big fan of 1Rebel. You do pay more than your average run-of-the-mill gym, however in exchange you get to be in better surroundings (with like-minded people who care about fitness), listening to better music, with trainers that know what they're doing and look the part (inspiring you in the process) and you get nice changing facilities complete with GHD hair dryers and straighteners. My advice for those complaining about the cost would be to take full advantage of all the facilities, ie shower at the gym and not when you get home, and don't book yourself onto any waiting lists unless you're in the area and ready for that particular class.

My favorite class is Rumble, and tend to frequent Oxford Circus more than Broadgate. Reformer is also great - sometimes used as a warm up for Rumble. Reshape is great if you want a cardio boost. Still yet to try Ride and Rig. Lastly, the Angel branch is super pretty, if you're a fan of plants!

For those with monthly memberships, you also get some deals and discounts with retailers as well as a special monthly offer. Last month I treated myself to 50% off 1hr physio + sports massage at OneBody LDN and was much impressed.

Similar to other clients my wife got tricked by the waiting list trick…. We are both trying the new client 3 sessions for 39 pounds. You put yourself in the waiting list and then without confirmation from your side they add you last minute to the session sending an email that goes to your junk box and you loose your session. 1Rebel needs to stop doing this and either tell upfront that this is how waiting list works or go through your waiting list to see who’s available last minute and confirms attendance. We really liked the classes but this situation puts us off.

When it works, nice experience and good workout. It’s very easy to accidentally book into a class on their app (almost wonder if it was designed this way) and if it’s within 12 hours you can’t get your money back! Insanely expensive for what they really offer. Lots of marketing tricks with very little customer service. Overall, avoid.

I'm really loving the Reformer classes at Rebel 1. Not the average reformer you maybe used to. More intense with HITT like session. Definitely feel and see a difference in a short space of time compared to other gyms I was at like Frame & Virgin. I do 2/3 classes a week and that's enough to see the change. If you want the more traditional reformer experience this is not the gym for you but if you want fun but a hard work out this is the class for you.

1Rebel If someone asks a question, why are you 8 times more expensive compared to other gyms. What should you answer? Because your equipment is the same with others. Some gyms are even more better… We find the same trainers everywhere. Why is it so expensive? Receptionists are extremely rude. Why is it so expensive? Mainly for the prime location or what? I wasted £179 for no reason 😡😡😡

I had purchased a sale online that was listed as ‘5 sessions pass’ and it stated what the total cost was and then how much each session was. I checked my account the following month well after my 5 sessions were completed and noticed 1rebel had withdrawn money from my account without me knowingly consenting (to top it off it was over double what I had paid for when I purchased the sale sessions) It was advertised on the site as 5 sessions, when I spoke to someone on the phone at Broadgate she was very rude and patronising and said it was clearly stated and essentially ‘my fault.’ I have a screen shot of what I saw in my phone when I purchased it and it was NOT clear at all that by purchasing 5 sessions on sale that I was then consenting to joining a full membership thereafter. I feel like that is massively deceiving and I will ensure to never purchase sessions from them again or advise others to.

Am a spin afficionado. Was overnighting in London. Booked an "early doors" 1Rebel spin class. I was not disappointed. Nearly all looked "next level" fitness; the instructor was a level above that. Left thoroughly energised. Felt as if I'd left part of me behind in the spin studio. Loved the countercultural, almost prepper feel to the session. In summary, magnificent.
