The name says it all, it was an experienceame

The name says it all, it was an experience, and a good one.
After reading reviews after booking I was hoping they were wrong, and the were. I visited Blyton Park 31-7-21 and drove 5 super cars
Ferrari F430, thanks James for a brill Start
Nissan GTR- Sorry can’t remember the instructor, but very nice guy encouraged me, got me to push the car, so big thanks.
Ariel Aton with GaWain I think, again very knowledgeable, cool as ice and have a descriptive run.
Lamborghini with Ryan , just a young guy, but again told me where I lost a bit of time and how to try next lap.
Porsche , this was my favourite car and Chris the instructor was an absolute gent, knew the cars actions and pitfalls when pushed, but a very cool guy, and again talked all the way around, giving me the best line to chose, and where could be faster.
Thanks to everyone, it was for a special treat, and it was well worth the money and time.
Also there and older guy with white hair that takes you on a fast lap, don’t let the appearance fool you, he’s an ex rally driver and he was like YODA behind the wheel of the Focus RS, the guy can drive, big thanks to everyone.
Would have given 5 star, but slight lack of Covid proceedured, even though we are pout of strict control, i would have like to see more wiping down of wheels etc.
You get 2 laps, its not a track day, its an experience, it may be pricey, but i enjoyed it.

In regards to the covid measures, we do have anti-bacterial wipes in the each of the cars if you wished to have cleaned the contact points.

Paid for the experience for my…

Paid for the experience for my daughter’s 14th birthday. Also paid for the video footage and also the films, they failed to check the USB stick after paying the money for the footage photographs are unavailable on the video footage was unavailable and basically told is in their terms and conditions that this can happen.

Do not purchase a complete shambles and disappointment for my Childs birthday

Since this review was posted it has been resolved - we do have it very clearly advertised in our paperwork, website and on the day that technical issues can occur and compensation will be provided if footage cannot be recovered.

We hope your daughter enjoyed the actual experience itself.

Had a great time at Castle Coombe

Had a great time at Castle Coombe doing the 5 supercar experience, highly recommended, yes they try to upsell everything but I was upgraded to the Lamborghini Superleggera from the standard model at no cost.
Castle Coombe is a proper race circuit and they let you drive as fast as you wish, didn't rate the Atom but the Lambo and GTR were pretty awesome, I was doing the experience along with my 2 eldest sons and they thoroughly enjoyed it too.
It was well organised and the instructors were great.

Bought a voucher and due to covid had…

Bought a voucher and due to covid had problems rebooking, recieved an email asking to confirm attendance of a date that i have never agreed to, i rang to ask to change date and had to pay extra to move the date, thought the email may have been deleted accidently but nothing in my history or deleted folder - interesting to see other people had same problem.
The day itself was ok - the ferrari coach was awful,just said hi, no feedback or tips. The lambo instructor and the hot lap with Andrew was brilliant. Feel like the service could have been better as the laps go so fast. Probably wouldn't use again due to problems before the day.

To add some context onto this review - the customer did not attend the date they booked in and because the option to rebook wasn't available, went on a verbal tirade to our Customer Service Team until the phone was disconnected.

What a waste of money, avoid at all cost

What a waste of money. Son had a supercar experience with them, never again. Should of known when i was conned out of £25.00 for the damage waver and £2.00 for a pair of plastic gloves it would be no good. Glad I did not invest in a memory stick of his drive!! Was told it would be round a specially made track! This was basically a car park with 4 cones on! Instructor could just about manage to say hello but after that no conversation at all. Basically had 5 minutes going round in circles. Poor experience.

Hi Andrew, so sorry for not addressing this public review sooner. The optional collision damage waiver cover is detailed in all of our paperwork prior to the experience. This experience happened when our strict Covid-19 safety restrictions were in place, prior to attending we alerted all customers that face coverings and gloves were required in the cars. If these weren't brought along, they were available on the day for a surcharge.

We have been in contact with you previously with yourself and the company that you purchased the voucher from regarding your issues on the day.

Rubbish company

6th gear took over from Drive Me and we were repeatedly assured that vouchers would be honoured, as driving days were cancelled due to covid. Now when days are opening up and bookings are being taken, our details and vouchers surprisingly cannot be found, so we have lost our money and have 2 disappointed lads! No evidence was given that the vouchers "could not be found"! Customer services do not want to know and looking at other reviews other customers have had the same. 6th gear are only interested in taking money. Hopefully people will read these reviews and choose a different company, I have already put off many friends and family from booking with them. Only left 1 star as had to!

Used these a couple of times

Used these a couple of times. Better companies out there. Very slow calling your name. On a high after you drive and just left frustrated by the time you eventually get called. Radical broke down (understand this can happen) but as I drove and been passenger lap in ariel atom spoke to owner of company and he said to contact office and I could have a refund. Straight up refused when I put my request in. Explained owner authorised it and didn't even get a response. I spent a small fortune with them to. Be the last time il use them. I have to say mind driving instructors were great.

Please I beg you do not use this company they are the worst company ever, they don’t care if someone has died, I emailed them yesterday saying I have had a death in my family and I dont know when I can now attend this and to ask for a refund and they said to me that because it’s less then 72 hours we can’t do anything, u can’t do anything like I’m supposed to let u know weeks in advance that someone is gonna die how rude and insensitive is that. Please save your money and time and do not use this company. I will take this further and go to the papers they won’t get away with this!!

I’ve just had my super car experience…

I’ve just had my super car experience at castle Combe. I’ve got to say what a massive disappointment. 6 laps in total for just under £200 is a complete ripoff. I’ve has the enjoyment twice of the single seater at Silverstone. By far a much better experience. The Aston Martin was so old. It shuddered when under breaking. The lambo also old. Best was the r8. I find this absolutely shocking for what u charge. Also the insurance waver for 6 laps £35 just another over charge to add to this huge let down.

DO NOT USE THIS AWFUL "COMPANY". I would not trust this company at all. Customer service is horrendous, they don't reply to emails, there's no way to complain or get a refund for services that can't now be taken. I bought an experience package for my son's Christmas present in November 2019 and had the session booked for early Summer 2020. This was obviously cancelled to to covid but no refund was allowed. They then allowed me change my booking before March 2021 and again, this is not possible due to being high risk and my son not being able to keep a 1m distance from the driver in the car. I have requested a refund again. I was told to expect a response within 30 days which I did not receive and was asked to keep waiting for a response which I received a week later. I have then had to follow up several times since. They have no intention of offering a refund so my son has missed out on his Christmas present from 2019 entirely! I have emailed them back to ask them for specific contact details as I have now passed this issue on to my solicitor but they will not even respond to emails. DO NOT USE THIS AWFUL "COMPANY". How they can treat a customer, let alone a child like this says so much about this "company's" how trustworthy and ethical their operation is.

After quite a few hiccups and no response from the company I did finally reach them. My sons day was booked and he had a fantastic time.

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY

WARNING, CHECK THE COMPANYS HOUSE WEBSITE. They are in administration. Maybe that’s why they are not issuing refunds. Also check out the owner on face book You can find his name on the company’s house website seems to lead a lavish life, maybe that’s where all the money has gone.
The level of customer service from 6th gear is shocking. Complete disregard for there customers. This company bought my business from drive me. My ticket was purchased in 2019, every event I have booked has been cancelled by the organiser. They will not issue a refund. You can no longer comment on their posts on Facebook. Absolute cowboy outfit stay well clear.

Terrible company

Terrible company, do not use!! Wouldnt refund me when I couldn't go due to covid, hung the phone up on me when I last called!! No wonder they have removed all reviews from the page!! EDIT you're response to this review is incorrect, you couldn't take criticism so hung up, I notice you didn't address the fact that you refused the refund despite the situation of the pandemic or the fact that you ignored me on multiple occasions!!

This is not something that we tolerate, our staff do not come to work to be subject to abuse. We had attempted to rebook your experience as you requested, but had no luck. as you could not confirm your details.

Having booked for an experience

Having booked for an experience, i paid for several upgrades (car, prime slots etc) and none were provided, overcrowded as they tried to cram as much as they could - was a bad experience and no refund provided for the upgrades that failed to materialise. Will not use them again as this experience was a birthday present given to me for which they have simply ruined.

40th Birthday present waited ages. Turned up on the day after driving 2 hours nothing/nobody there. It was a weekend so waited until Monday to phone. I was told they had sent me an email. Which they didn’t.
I asked for a refund and they shuned me. They were pretty rude considering They completely ruined my weekend and have made it very difficult to get a refund.
I will phone again today and see what they say.
Very disappointed.

Money grabbing

I booked a huracan driving experience and paid extra for that specific car. There is a very personal reason why only a huracan (or the Aventador) would do

Received an email stating that driveme had been purchased by 6th gear (this review will also be added to their site) and after reading some reviews it seems this has happened before

After a few emails with no answer (only a couple of day to be fair) I phoned and spoke to sophie on the who confirmed they don't have the huracan, so I asked for a refund

I was told that management would have to sort it out. I opened a PayPal case but lost due to some technical loophole they have found to get out of paying refunds (they did offer a partial but losing over £100 just seems wrong)

I would think any company that can not offer something it has sold would automatically offer a refund out of common sense/ decency.

Never got my drive, lost £250 given to me by someone close to me and will never it seems get what I paid for.

Was going to book drives for 3 of my kids but couldn't trust this company to deliver it for them so will use someone else who has better business practices, if they are that money grabbing who knows what else they do to keep cash??

My advice is stay well away, there are better companies out there whi act in a much more honest way, and don't rely on PayPal to help as they have found a way around this

I have now won a case against this company in small claims court and waiting for the bailiff to recover the money

As below - poor

As below, went on the same today at same time as the customer below, way overbooked trying to cram as many people in as they can trying to make as much money as poss cause been unable to for a while..

Poor organisation, try an rip you off with all the usual damage waivers etc, expensive photos 25 or £35, couldnt even get 1 photo for free.

Just way too many people I took the GTR and the instructor although nice on the 2nd and third laps kept braking for me around the corners so couldnt take it how I wanted to ie fast and what I paid for. Would not go again.

Also forgot to mention all the hassle building up to it. Numerous phone calls being put on hold for 45mins +, no response to emails, wrong booking time, AM rather than PM, then was supposed to be 3-5pm and got 1.10pm so my wife couldnt come to spectate. A whole host of errors really.

Feeling let down and out of pocket

Booked this as a gift for my son's 18th birthday. Eagerly waited 14 months before we were able to go mostly due to covid restrictions so that's not really 6th gears fault although the last time it got postponed was due to not having covid precautions put in place. A box of masks and a box of gloves was about all that had been put in place so not sure why that was such an issue. I rang the customer service number numerous times prior to that day as the arrival time had changed on the voucher and we wanted to make sure we were going at the right time. Cost me £5 to call as it's a premium number which is failed to be mentioned anywhere even on the phone call itself and I got nowhere just stuck at number 4 in a cue. Left a message for them to call me back and they never did. Turned up to a wet muddy car park and grounds at the time stated on the vowcher. Was persuaded to pay £30 insurance for driving 2 cars and a further £2 for a pair of gloves which had ripped before he even got in a car. Waited in the rain with no shelter for customers for nearly an hour. No proper organisation. Just some guy shouting random names off a clipboard at will. Eventually my son got to drive his 1st choice car for the 6 laps we had booked. Car was set to automatic so he couldn't really give it any welly. Waited another 20 mins to drive 2nd choice car, a Subaru rally car which turns out wasn't even at the track. Instead they offered a hot lap in a focus rs with someone else driving it. Got in another cue for another 10 mins then the driver went on his lunch break for a further 20 mins. Finally he got to go but not even one full lap round the track and then straight back in to the pits. My son said he could of got around quicker in a nissan micra. Nothing against micras btw. All we could hear whilst waiting was other customers talking about how slow the cars were or how let down they felt they had been. No proper covid checks in place. Temperatures taken ect. Even the guy calling names out wasn't wearing a mask. Overpriced photos. Overpriced refreshments. No apologies for no Subaru. Plus side was my sons instructor was very friendly and helpful and the girls organising the cueing were very pleasant considering the weather but that doesn't really compensate for not being able to drive the car he wanted or even a different car. Just wanted to leave the circuit so didn't even bother going back to the reception to claim the 2nd cars insurance back. Feel like I've been robbed and that I have let my son down. As we left the circuit he said to me don't bother doing that again. Expensive waste of time.

6th Gear Experience FANTASTIC

Just got home from Blyton race way having thoroughly enjoyed the SUPER CAR TRIPLE BLAST, fantastic experience, quick, smooth and professional, no hard sell on CDW, photos or video, all were available, but not pushed, no blocking the view to friends and family, in fact this would be impossible as it's a bloody great race track, stand and watch where you want, no stopping people from tacking their own photos, this was even encouraged by 6th Gear staff.
One of my choice was not available, so I was offered the pick of anything available, it's a car, they break down, get over yourself and drive something else you would not normally have the opportunity to drive, the 3 instructors I had were all very friendly, polite and professional, the guys in the holding/call up area had everything under control and the registration area staff were very good, as stated no pushy selling tactics at all, great view of the pit lane, race track and all the cars, well done 6th Gear, thank you.
Covid19 restriction in place and well implemented, after my initial apprehension due to the negative reviews, I have had a great experience
