80% of what is offered in the course I already knew and the remaining 20% was not really helpful.

It was worth a try, but... Sorry.

Having played for a long time, I got through Day 1 thru 6 in one day. At Day 7 thru 10 with alternating i and m fingers, I hit a wall. 50 years of habit doesn't go away overnight. So I kept at it for almost 2 weeks and found I could force it but very slowly. I then started doing just any single string melodies or scales using the alternating method. So I got somewhat of a handle on it but slowly and then moved on to part 3 where I had less difficulty, mainly because i, m, & a each had a different string to play. This is what what my years of playing wa accustomed to. However Day 13 and 14 did have patterns that were more challenging did test my right hand. I found day 15 curious because it did not use any alternate patterns, just the basic up and down with the right hand picking as it was introduced in day 12. So there was a bit of a disconnect with days 13 and 14 because the alternates were not taken any further. It just seemed to go back to day 12. Day 16 thru 19 I had no trouble with because of rythmn and timing. It was all constant quarter and eigth notes. Day 20 threw the sixteenths in mix. Again I was playing things like day 20 for years but not cleanly or with any disciplined picking pattern.
Summary, most challenging were days 7 thru 10, 14, and 20. I revisit bits of those sections to try to increase speed. My overall impression was that while the program seemed to lack continuity and flow at times, it did add discipline, re-training and a realization that I need to add practice and technique to my daily playing which is mostly just noodling.

Love it. Can't find anything wrong with your teaching, very patient and careful, and leaving no details untouched.
I really feel as a beginner, I need to work out the kinks and whatever is unfamiliar with handling a guitar, and I know I just have to acquire the dexterity and skills, but that demands working at it, like everything else. It cannot be realistic to be immediately comfortable with everything right at the start, but I feel I am learning the right way, with your programs. I look forward to the classical guitar program when that one will be right for me

Content probably good for new guitarists but too slow for those with some experience

Still working on barre chords, but so far, so good.

Recently I purchased the guitar finger picking mastery program and although I am an absolute beginner I am so very pleased with the way this program is set up.
Andrew presents the material in a perfect downloadable format and guides you through the workbook in an understandable manner .
The students get to learn at their own pace and that makes it perfect for people of all ages and skill levels. Anyone who has the commitment to learn will definitely do so.

Awesome lessons! I’ve been through so many other lessons…tapes, online, books. This is the first time I’ve been able to advance. With Andrew’s help I am actually learning to play guitar! Thank you!!

I have played guitar for many years, strumming and playing some finger style from various beginners course books and from the internet but I have reached a plateau. I love the songs that you play Andrew and if I could get anywhere close to that type of performance I would be a very happy man. I am going back to the very start with your course in order to find the "missing link" that will enable me to progress with my playing. I have only completed up to day 8 of the "fingerpick in 20 days," but I am enjoying the course and have already begun practicing a couple of routines that I have never met before. Thank you for the very comprehensive course I feel confident that I will become a better player in time with your help.

Structured programme clearly explained at the right pace for me.

I had never considered fingerstyle previous to seeing your presentation on Facebook. I am in my late 60s only began learning acoustic guitar 3 years ago -sporadically. I bought some online lessons with UK based Ian O'Brien, learning 'Django' chords then onto open chords, as well as basic strumming. I am hampered to some extent by small hands (barre chords are impossible). So far your lessons have been well structured. So far I am on Section 2 and have spent a lot of time on Alternating Fingers. I tried Staggering Fingers today for the first time. In both lessons I am OK but suffer buzzing/blocking due to the stretch on my smaller hands. I try the 'Spock Stretch' before every lesson so hopefully there will be an improvement in the sound in time. I think Fingerstyle sounds fantastic so I am determined to progress further!

Love the pace a repetition, helps with my old brain for retention. I am halfway through, taking my time so I get it right.

Have been enjoying the "Fingerpick in 20 days" course so far. It's easy to follow along. Probably will buy the fingerstyle mastery course.

Having read the other reviews mine likely doesn’t apply. I did not enroll in the program - only downloaded the overview of the program. It was so poorly constructed that I never followed up to look at the actual course. So - my comments are for the overview package - not the full program. But the emails kept insisting I provide an assessment knowing I wasn’t enrolled in the program.

You are assuming WAY to much for true beginners. Day 1 top of page ‘Keep your thumb behind the neck…. ‘ which thumb? You show the tabs for 2 chords, but no
description on how to finger them! And description of TABS is awful - don’t number the lines in the diagram - use terms like high and low not emphasizing that you mean high pitch and low not position as you look at hit e instrument. I’m not a true beginner so I could figure out you meant. But this is the level of instruction that so frustrated me in 1976 when I first tried to learn the guitar as my first ever string instrument after playing the piano and brass instruments for years. I just gave up - have only returned after retirement. To fully critique the course would take hours and pages.

Andrew lays out the steps for me to follow, but I am practicing my left and right hands fingers every day, once I can play a chord, then I continue to follow Andrew's instructions. I have to practice my fingers,
Andrew can't do any magic for me. I know nothing about the guitar before I start this program.

Hello Andrew,

First I must apologize for my tardiness in responding to your email dated June 6.

I shall begin with a slight history. I began a long time ago to take lessons which began with fingerstyle, which really caught my interest, and began with The House of the Rising Sun and got it down pretty good.

Followed up with more one-on-one sometime later, but lost the desire with a very poor instructor that tried working with me with a drummer in the cubical next door.

My last instructor did really well but was starting to get a little expensive and the budget is getting a little tight until I saw your promotion, and here I am enjoying every minute.

The piece I am working on right now is Romance D Amour (Classical), my only problem in practicing is the left fingers, at 74 the digits are not as agile as they were when I was wearing a yonger mans clothes.

A lot of your instruction is a review, but it still fun and as previously mention, enjoying it a lot.
