Incredible 30th Anniversary Trip with Affordable World!
This was our first time booking with Affordable World Travel, and they exceeded our expectations every step of the way. From purchasing the Groupon to booking the trip, everything was smooth and hassle-free.

The entire experience—from airport transfers to hotel accommodations and guided tours—was exceptionally well organized. Every hotel we stayed at was clean and comfortable, with delicious breakfasts and warm, welcoming staff.

We took this trip to celebrate our 30th wedding anniversary, and it truly became one of our most memorable vacations. The tour guides were knowledgeable and friendly, and the bus drivers were courteous and professional.

We felt taken care of from start to finish and would absolutely recommend Affordable World to anyone looking for a well-planned, stress-free travel experience.

Our affordable world trip was very organized from start to finish. We had comfortable and prompt transportation at each step, and great guides. Our group size was small enough to not be overwhelming (12). Hotels were high quality with great breakfast. I’d do affordable world again!

We had again a wonderful experience with Affordable World. Everything was as expected, this is our second tour, on time, and well planned. All of our guides, Kitty and Sharky, and drivers were kind, knowledgeable, and helpful. Every single one was positive and patient.

At no time did we feel lost, confused, or disappointed during our trip. They were with us any time, any place, any need.

It was a perfect balance of guidance while also leaving us to explore a bit on our own. We felt with Kitty exceptionally, friendly and kindly, she knew our needs and expectations in all situations.

Wow! I booked our Greece vacation through Groupon and was feeling relatively nervous as I have never done this before. I wanted to surprise my wife for our birthdays. Affordable World went ABOVE AND BEYOND our expectations! Landing in Athens, I was nervous, but right away we spotted our guide with the Affordable World sign. They scooped our bags up and loaded them in our awesome tour bus. The Athens hotel was decent, but by far the least favorite. We had a great time on the tour the next morning and decided to stay in Plaka for lunch and then walk to the Olympic Stadium. It was easy to walk back to our hotel after visiting those sights! Mykonos, we decided to upgrade to the Porto Mykonos hotel. If you have the option to do that, DO IT! The pool is INCREDIBLE and the staff are so attentive. The Santorini Palace was incredible as well, and there is a Tavern right next to it along with a market! We rented a car here to drive to Oia and to the lighthouse! All of the transports and guides were incredible and truly went above and beyond to make us feel taken care of! We never felt scared, or that we didn't know what was going on. I am already looking forward to booking through Affordable World again!! Thank you for an amazing trip!

I was a bit nervous when I booked a trip with a Groupon discount-but was quickly set at ease when I received timely information by mail and email of the progress of the booking. The trip itself was fabulous! Very well organized with fun guides and fun activities. I did most of the excursions which made my trip very full. I would definitely recommend and do again!

My tour guide Keiko San was very organized, patient, kind and had a great sense of humor. Driver San complemented her well, he was helpful, pleasant and polite all the times. I loved being able to see different cities and their special features on this one trip. Hotels were great. It was great value for the money. Loved it.

Great experience 2nd time using this agency. I always feel like a VIP. This time it was Thailand and it was amazing. Tour guides were great went above and beyond what I was expecting.

Great guide and itinerary. Our guide was very knowledgeable and took care of everything for us. The transportation was very well organized. We would recommend Affordable World and plan to use them again in the future.

We had a wonderful trip to Greece (Athens/Mykonos/Santorini) in spring 2025. This was our second AffordableWorld tour in the last 7 years and mostly did not disappoint. The transfers worked very well. The hotel in Athens was located in the "red light" district and not convenient for walking to restaurants, but was safe (though very basic and the breakfast not very good) and a $5-10 Uber/taxi away from the Plaka neighborhood with lots of shops and restaurants. It would have been nice to have an upgrade option for the Athens hotel. The tour on the first day to the Acropolis could have been better. The tour guide did not take time to make sure everyone's headsets were working and felt like we were being herded at times, and his narrative of Greek history was not entirely accurate. Also, he did not even mention let alone take us to a major part of the acropolis complex, the agora, which includes an archeological museum and a "park" with acres of ruins that you can walk through, which was disappointing to those of us who only "discovered" this major Athens attraction at the end of our trip. The ferry to Mykonos was super comfy in business class, and the Hotel Tagoo was great. The island was charming and beautiful. A lot of shops were still closed, but that was great as it was peaceful and not overcrowded. The ferry to Santorini was a bit rough and the disembarkment was very unhospitable, but we got there safely and the island was wonderful. Being there on the shoulder season was perfect - plenty of good eating options and shops, but not too crowded. The bus tour was worth taking, and the guide was excellent. The sunset cruise was cancelled for weather but we rented a car, delivered to the hotel (which was great) and picked up the next day for less than $100, and spent the day and evening sight-seeing on our own, which was great fun. Really glad we flew back to Athens so we had nearly a full day of sight-seeing before flying home. We splurged for the business class tickets since we had 18 hours of flying to get home, which was spendy but made the trip much more comfortable for our aging bodies. Greece is amazing and worth the visit if you love old world charm, history, culture, islands, and/or food! AffordableWorld made it easy to visit this faraway place without any preparation aside from an up-to-date passport. Would recommend some tweaks as noted above for an improved experience, but this trip was well our time and money.

This was our third time traveling with Affordable World. And once again we had a great time! Everything went smooth per plan. Special thanks to our tour guides Sharky and Kathy who were very organized, friendly and joyful, making our experience even more enjoyable!

My brother and I had such a great time! This tour really helped us achieve a travel dream of ours that we have had since we were kids. For the price we paid, this trip was 100% worth it!

I would like to give great thanks to our tour guides (Yoshi, Koko, and Masa) for providing us was amazing facts and getting us to were we need to go on the excursion days.

The only thing I would improve upon is adding an extra day to Kyoto. Only having the afternoons free for the Classic Japan Tour really limited us on what we were hoping to do. Also, I feel that it would actually give more time for when the historical sites are visited with the guide. We didn't have much time to really enjoy the area as much as we would have like.

Still highly recommend if you are planning to get your feet wet for the first visit to Japan!

First time doing a group tour.This was just an amazing trip. Very nice hotel. Flight offerings were great. We just had to show up. The tour guide - Noom was fabulous - was very detailed with our itinerary and knowledgeable. Being our first tour group experience we were anxious that it wouldn't live up to our expectations. Instead it superseded them. We had a tour cancellation due to not enough people showing up. Refund was easy and prompt once back home. Highly recommend this company.

Had a great trip to Thailand. Enjoyed my time in Bangkok, Krabi and Phuket. Our tour guides Kitty and Alice were AMAZING!
My only tip is to take/wear socks when visiting the temples in warmer temps. The concrete can be hot when you remove your shoes to enter and exit the temples.

Second time traveling with affordable and absolutely loved my experience

Hotels were cheap

Overall it’s not perfect but it was great

We took our first tour with Affordable World to Greece. We appreciated the perfect mix of group activities ( travel and an intro tour at each location) and the time to explore on our own. Our hotels were nice, guides and drivers were nice, and we loved Greece!

We just got back from Japan. We went 3/26-4/2/2025. This is our first experience with affordable world. We love Japan. When first time I called affordable world regarding the deal trip to Japan, their office in California & their customer service seems very good & helpful. So I signed up. But I learned when we arrived in Japan, we’re very disappointed with their service & our tour guide. On our first day arrival in Tokyo, they put us to a nice hotel, We like the hotel in Tokyo. then here’s the nightmare started, when we’re in Kyoto & Osaka.
The hotel in Kyoto was very tiny room, uncomfortable mattress & pillows, no room or closet to put our 2 big luggages & 1 carry on, without any choice, we have to put all of them on floor which no room to walk, in order to walk we have to jump in between the
luggages on the floor. The carpet was old & ripped off on the corner area. Disgusting carpet. The bathroom was very tiny, & you have to climbed out, very high step, to go to the bathroom. I never saw that tiny bathroom the way they set up with a very high step. It’s hazard. The shower in the bathtub, it’s a high bathtub, you have to climb up & there’s nothing to hold on- very dangerous. I hit my knees or my toes a few times whenever I took a shower climb up to that bathtub. The hotel in Osaka was the same as in Kyoto, very tiny room & dangerous tiny bathroom with nothing to hold to climb up to high bathtub to have shower. And has very high step to enter the bathroom. I hit my toes several times whenever I went to bathroom because of the very high step. We never seen anything like it.

The tour guide, they’re nice people but they’re not as very good as professional as a tour guides. They didn’t give us
whispers so we can’t hear what they’re talking about, while we’re walking, most of the time we can’t hear what they’re explaining. Especially when we’re in Kyoto & Osaka we had different tour guide. Here’s another bad surprise in Kyoto . From Kyoto to Osaka, affordable world didn’t mentioned anything luggage transfer from Kyoto to Osaka. They only mentioned about luggage transfer from Tokyo to Kyoto,which we paid additional for this one before we go to Japan. While we arrived in Kyoto, Our tour guide informed us, we have to pay luggage transfer from Kyoto to Osaka which we didn’t aware about it. He told us when we’re in bus in the morning that we’re about to leave for our first tour in Kyoto. We have to get off from bus, and back to our room & take out a few stuffs from our luggage because we have to transfer our luggage to Osaka. What a messed!! Very unorganized !!! Our first trip in Kyoto that morning was Delayed because we have to re arrange our luggage & did some paperwork for luggage transfer. Back to our tour guide in Kyoto & Osaka, he walked too fast & sometimes we can’t keep up with him and
we left out behind & looking for him , because they didn’t give us whispers we couldn’t hear anything what he said. Two ladies in our group, they’re missing. We had a little delayed of our next tour to Osaka Castle because the tour guide still trying to find these 2 ladies. He still can’t find them. Everything was chaos because of the 2 ladies missing. We supposed to have our lunch ( that’s included in our additional tour to Nara) but our bus left us . The tour guide instructed us to walked appx. 30 minutes to the restaurant, we walked together with the tour guide on the street where traffics was a little busy where we walked, there’s no sidewalk , the street we’re walking was not for pedestrians to walk. Some cars passing by near us while we’re walking together with our tour guide. That’s dangerous. The tour guide didn’t think of our safety. This was the worst service & tour guide I’ve ever experienced. I’ve been traveling to 25 countries, we had our travel agent that we had used for 12 years, so far our travel agent we had in the past for 12 years is the best! So far no body beats to their service they have to offered. This is our first time using Affordable World, the reason I try affordable world was because I was falling to their Ad -A good deal on the price trip to Japan. I’ve been looking for a great deal trip to Japan for a while. Why not give it a try using different travel agent this time . I should known better, sometimes you got what you paid for. You paid cheaper, their service is cheap too. I should stick to my travel agent that I’ve been using for 12 years, it’s worth it to pay a little bit more because what you paid was for their excellent services, they never disappointed us. We’re planning to go back to Japan in the future but we’re not going to use Affordable World.
