Abbas provided an outstanding structural survey. He gave lots of advice and told us about different options and solutions. He was very knowledgeable.

The structural engineer that visited us (Abbas), was extremely thorough. His recommendations were clear and although we had nothing of major concern to worry about, he was kind and reassuring all the same. I would thoroughly recommend this company. They have been great to deal with from start to finish and worth the money.

Alpine Surveys was a class act from start to finish. I contacted them about structural defects to my property. I first spoke to Alex at length regarding my concerns. He was knowledgeable and courteous. He listened carefully and advised me of their process to identify issues.
I called a number of other companies and found that i couldn't always get through to speak to someone and if I did, they didnt always know the subject matter. I called back and spoke to Brinde. Again, extremely knowledgeable, understood my concerns and put me at ease. Both Alex and Brinde were very helpful and reassuring. They were the reason I chose Alpine Surveys in the first instance. Brinde got back to me with dates very quickly and was able to bring my dates forward also.

A structural engineer Abbas, came out on the 23rd Sept. Abbas was polite, courteous and on time. He was professional without being overly formal. He spent over 2 hours listening, allowing me to share my concerns as we walked the property. He was patient, very knowledgeable, measured and thorough in his response. I was so impressed with Abbas and felt so lucky that he was the person that came out. He was an absolute a gem!

In an age where good customer service, professionalism and knowledge is not easy to find, these 3 individuals made Alpine Services stand out head and shoulders above the rest! They were consistently good!! They are a credit to themselves and the company.

Thorough, direct and best money I've ever spent as a tenant having to disprove damage claims between my bath overflow and separate ingress causes. Helped me to confirm where my liability begins and ends and shut down landlord claims for preexisting defects. Well worth it.

Alpine Surveys are truly independent. They don't sell any type of damp proofing at all. Their focus is solely on getting to the bottom of why you've got damp.
Our house smelled of mould and mildew in the hot weather, we were pretty convinced we had damp coming up through the floor. They did a whole house survey and found out that the render on our chimney had blown, allowing moisture to seep in and run down the walls. It was expensive to fix but thanks to Alpine we didn't end up fixing the wrong thing!

I found communication with Alpine Property Surveys Ltd very efficient. Abbas, their engineer visited my property today and provided first class service. He was thorough and took the time to explain the issue to me. Abbas and the company are professional and reliable.

My experience using Alpine surveys was excellent. The surveyor Nagendre was professional, extremely knowledgeable and gave very detailed explanations which were broken down into layman's terms so we could understand.

He wrote an unbiased and accurate report, which was detailed and precise. He was polite throughout the survey and very helpful and friendly.

Alpine made us feel at ease and important from the initial booking until the report was completed. We will definitely use them again in the future, and will recommend to friends and family.

I wish I had read the reviews before booking Alpine Damp Surveys.

I was encouraged to book quickly with the offer of a discounted survey and was left with the impression that the investigation would be far more comprehensive than it actually was. Before the survey, I made it very clear that I wanted to identify the root cause of ongoing damp, mould and suspected water ingress. I specifically requested a drone inspection of the roof perimeter to check for defects around the fascia, guttering and roof edge, together with investigation into whether water could be entering the wall cavities.

Unfortunately, none of this happened.

The survey consisted largely of moisture meter readings and thermal imaging, which I had already had carried out previously. I was looking for definitive answers to a long-standing problem, but instead received what I felt was a generic report that failed to identify the source of the damp or provide confidence that the recommended repairs would resolve the issue.

To make matters worse, after raising my concerns I was informed that the surveyor who attended my property no longer works for the company. I also spoke directly with the director, hoping they would acknowledge the shortcomings and work towards a resolution. Instead, I found the conversation defensive, with little recognition of the concerns I had raised. That was extremely disappointing and left me with even less confidence in the company.

I have now had to instruct another specialist to carry out a proper investigation, meaning I've paid twice for something that should have been investigated properly the first time.

Based on my experience, the survey did not deliver the detailed root cause investigation that I was seeking, and I cannot recommend Alpine Damp Surveys to anyone looking for a comprehensive assessment of damp, mould or water ingress.

Unfortunately, I do not accept your version of events.

My reason for commissioning Alpine Damp Surveys was not simply to receive another generic damp report. I wanted a detailed investigation into the root cause of persistent damp and mould, as I had already undergone moisture testing and thermal imaging previously without obtaining any definitive answers.

During the booking process, I specifically discussed the need to inspect the roof perimeter and investigate whether water ingress or cavity defects could be contributing to the problem. On the day of the survey, your surveyor told me he was not trained to fly a drone and did not know why one had been promised. He also advised that he would carry out a pilot hole to inspect the cavity. Neither of these matters was reflected in the final outcome.

You state that the roof was inspected thoroughly. However, I was later informed by your office that part of the large flat roof was not considered to be part of the property and therefore was not included within the survey. That does not give me confidence that the areas I specifically asked to be investigated were actually assessed.

My request about completing only some of the recommendations was made after receiving the report because I was trying to understand which items were likely to address the root cause of the damp and mould. I was looking for professional guidance on prioritising the works, not simply a list of maintenance recommendations.

Ultimately, the report did not provide the definitive investigation I commissioned it for, which is why I requested a refund. I have since been informed that the surveyor who attended my property has left the company, which did little to reassure me given I had already read reviews describing similar experiences.

I stand by my review. It reflects my genuine experience as a customer, and I will now be instructing another independent building pathology specialist to carry out the investigation that I originally believed I was commissioning.

customer service was excellent, they answered all questions and advised with professionalism, good updates and communication, surveyor arrived on time as stated, the survey was done with instruments and all checks done and gave brief overview before leaving

Abbas, the structural engineer who visited us was so thorough with his investigation, asking many questions to understand what had been happening with our property, then explaining everything in detail as he went along.

As well as looking at our potential house movement, he also uncovered some clear damp issues which had been causing us issues and suggested the most likely culprit.

He provided solid suggestions and next step choices for us to consider, none of which included the selling of additional services from Alpine or partners.

For the level of information and detail we received, it was most definitely worth the fee, particularly as I have had experience with structural engineers charging more in the past for similar services, but no more thorough than this one.

Also, not to mention that Abbas was very professional, warm and friendly. I felt very confident in his knowledge.

The report delivered on a very defective property was extraordinarily detailed in description photographic together with costings .
I am in the mortgage business 40 years and this is the most professional report I have ever seen.

Abbas talked me through everything, giving very clear explanations. The survey did not feel rushed, every question was answered and helpful, actionable advice was given.

Had a damp and timber survey carried out. This didn't give me the definitive answers I was looking for.

Stated that the pebbledash needed removing as there were cracks. However, 2 other damp surveyors stated that the pebbledash was fine and had only 1 small crack.

Whilst I completely agree that the pebbledash does not allow the walls to breathe and should be removed. The surveyor explicitly stated that there were several cracks throughout the pebbledash render. I have had the render checked by 2 other damp specialist, both have confirmed that there is only 1 crack near the door. However, the remainder of the render is in good condition.

Why have Alpine stated the pebbledash render is cracked in multiple areas? Im not sure.

The report is also difficult to read with the moisture readings being unclear and the pictures blurred. The moisture images with the colours is confusing and unclear.

In the kitchen where there was a prior leak and the paint is peeling and cracked, this wasn't even mentioned in the report. This is an area which can be seen with the human eye as obvious signs of water/damp penetration. However, there was a vague statement about this. I needed definitive answers so I could present the report to the builder who caused the damage. This was not provided. So it was a complete waste of my hard earned money!!!

Have also been advised that the chimney pots are uncapped.....I do not have any chimney pots on my chimneys. These have been flaunched with cement. Im completely baffled!

I asked some additional questions 5 days ago and was told they would be answered in 2 working days....I'm still waiting. I have chased twice but haven't received the answers.

A lot of money spent and I still don't have the answers im looking for!

Abbas was brilliant. On time, liaised directly with the agent and met me at the property. I had a ton of questions and Abbas was polite, knowledgeable, took the time and had the patience to explain things to me even though it wasn't necessarily a part of the service.
