As a professional mechanic with over 30 years of experience (Class of 1993), I am issuing this warning to my fellow technicians and car owners in India regarding the iCarsoft CR MAX and the company’s deceptive practices.
1. Cybersecurity & "Digital Trojan Horse" Risk In 2026, India has tightened security rules for electronic devices for a reason. This tool connects closed-source Chinese code directly to your car’s OBD2 port and your home WiFi. My investigation reveals that iCarsoft uses a fake "Virtual Office" in Washington D.C. (Davis Building) to hide its true identity. For Indian users, this means you are plugging an unverified device into your vehicle’s brain (ECU) with zero accountability for your data or vehicle security.
2. Violation of India’s "Right to Repair" Framework The Indian Government (Department of Consumer Affairs) has launched the Right to Repair portal to stop companies from forcing consumers to scrap electronics. iCarsoft is a prime offender. When the screen on my unit failed, they refused to sell me a spare part. Instead of a simple repair, they demand you throw away the entire expensive device. This is a direct violation of the circular economy India is trying to build and creates unnecessary e-waste.
3. Economic Risk to Indian Vehicles (Tata, Mahindra, Maruti) Indian vehicles are becoming highly advanced with ADAS and complex electronics. Reports show that faulty third-party software can cause system failures that cost upwards of ₹1,25,000 to ₹1,40,000 to repair at authorized service centers. Without a physical office or real support in India, you are playing "Economic Russian Roulette" with your car.
4. The "Mister Bearnaise" Facade Do not be fooled by the "American" branding. This is a Shenzhen-based operation hiding behind a rented mailbox in the US. They offer ZERO local support for Indian customers. If your device breaks, you are left with an expensive "brick."
Conclusion: Indian car owners deserve transparency and tools that can be repaired. Avoid iCarsoft until they comply with India’s Right to Repair standards and provide physical proof of their security protocols.

Extremely disappointing customer service. A significant delay in delivery was handled very poorly, with no sense of urgency or accountability. This order was meant to be a birthday gift, and the failure to deliver on time completely ruined the occasion. What made the experience worse was the repeated assurance from customer service—day after day—that the product would be delivered within 24 hours, which never happened. Such false commitments and lack of follow-through reflect an unacceptable standard of service.
Still good, but declining reliability since past 3 odd years
I am a customer of Amazon since around 10 years. By and large my experience with them had been (very) positive till about 3 years back when the quality of service started declining. It has become next to impossible to reach their customer service and, instead, one has to rely on email to them. Presently, there are at least 15 pending issues relating mostly to the products not conforming to the specifications as advertised, and the refusal / failure of Amazon to take them back for refund on flimsy grounds. Consequently, I have a number of cases pending against them before Consumer Commissions (they have already lost 2 cases). Having to file cases to obtain resolution to grievances is a very unapealing option, and I am sure it would cost Amazom many fold more in Consumer Comissions rather than resolving straight-forward instances of unresolved issues.

Very disappointing delivery experience
Very bad experience of amI ordered dresses from Amazon and received a delivery call notification at 8:36. Within seconds, I called back, but the call did not connect. I immediately stepped outside my house to check, and there was no delivery person anywhere near the address.
My house is easy to locate. A school is directly opposite my home, and deliveries come here regularly. In fact, Shiprocket delivered a parcel to the same address 2–3 hours earlier, and I frequently receive orders from Myntra and Meesho without any issue.
Despite this, the delivery was marked as “address not found.” This makes no sense. From my experience, it feels like the delivery person did not even come to the location, made a single missed call, and then marked the delivery as failed.
This is extremely unprofessional and frustrating. Customers should not be penalized for poor delivery practices. I am genuinely disappointed with how this was handled

Rude customer executive, I have ordered an item which is not delivered to me but amazon showing it's delivered and customer executive arguing with me telling you cancel the prime membership no issues so I cancelled.

I ordered Risotto rice on Amazon India app.
The package was open on top and just as well no packets were missing from the parcel. The attitude of the delivery person is appalling. He threw the package at the door and ran away. I shouted for his attention but he pretended as if he didn't hear me and ran away! Appalling service.And I wanted to speak with the customer service. It doesn't give me any option speak to the customer service nor any option available to chat either

Used and Wrong Product to buy time
The customer service and escalation team are shockingly rude, to the point where their language and attitude feel dismissive and insulting. When I raised a complaint about receiving the wrong items—damaged and clearly used—the response I got was essentially: “This is how it is, better buy or leave it.”
There was no courtesy, no empathy, and absolutely no effort to resolve the issue or provide a replacement. A customer who suffers because of poor service deserves support, not arrogance.
It’s time we move away from the monopoly of Amazon and start supporting new and emerging Indian e-commerce platforms that actually value their customers.
Amazon’s Review Policy Is Unfair and Misleading.
Amazon’s review policy has become extremely disappointing and anti-consumer.
I ordered a chain saw, and earlier a bathroom door mat as well. Both products had issues, and in one case I even received what appeared to be a used product. As a customer, I posted an honest review on the product page to warn other buyers — but Amazon removed my review and asked me to share the defect only with the seller.
This makes no sense.
If a seller repeatedly sends defective or used products, why should reviews be pushed to the seller page instead of the product page? Other customers rely on product reviews to make informed decisions. By hiding genuine negative reviews, Amazon is preventing buyers from knowing the truth and indirectly allowing bad sellers to continue the same practices.
Another serious issue is the ₹5 marketplace fee. Amazon charges this fee while purchasing, but deducts it during refunds, even when the fault is clearly on the seller’s side. Over multiple orders, this adds up — especially if customers unknowingly buy from sellers who keep sending faulty or used items. This feels highly unfair and exploitative.
In short:
Genuine reviews are removed
Customers are silenced
Sellers are protected
Marketplace fees are not refunded
This system benefits Amazon and bad sellers, not honest customers. Transparency and customer trust are clearly being compromised.
I hope Amazon rethinks its review moderation and refund practices, because right now this feels like a serious breach of consumer trust.
Item shows delivered and after…
Item shows delivered and after complaining that it was not delivered, they told we will send the item or will refund the money.
Second time also it shows that item was delivered but fact is item was not delivered.
My friend also faced similar problems and after several complaints Amazon refunded his money.
It’s a shame that company like Amazon is doing such things in Indian market.

I ordered Dr. Fixit Roofseal, Waterproofing Solution in GREY colour but received in WHITE color.
When I requested replacement of the WHITE colour paint with ordered GREY, to my shock they denied the replacement stating that they have send the correct product. How on the earth a WHITE colour paint can be same as GREY colour. Have tried with them for last 15 days having rounds of their junior/senior executive bullsh**t but no luck. Even wrote to there grievance email id but no reply from that till now. Amazon has the worst and arrogant customer care department. Be very careful with them.

Very often deliveries are not done because it says incorrect address. Same address as 5000 other deliveries are made... what a joke.
Other issues was unable to contact you... haha, delivery agent will let the phone ring 1 time or less just to trick the amazon system as an attempt. Delivery agent not even close to do the delivery and it gets sent back.
Amazon India is wasting a lot of profit by poor service. Amazon USA needs to review a lot of the practice and clean house and hire competent management.

Worst experience with amazon delivery. There is nothing called a customer care service to raise any concern. The delivery guy doesn't reach my house and I am notified that he couldn't reach. I don't receive calls from the delivery agent anymore which adds on to the misery. So there is absolutely no way to communicate. Amazon seems to be the worst .
