Beautiful catalog, terrible customer service
I placed an order a couple of months ago on-line for a Kaftan that I have still never received. I have reached out to this company to try and obtain the status of my order and I never receive a reply to my emails and my voicemails are never returned. The phone is never answered. It seems that I have been ripped off.
Good product, poor customer service
I am leaving a negative review hoping that April Cornell will take notice of my feedback. I have enjoyed the products, but there is no way to communicate with this business. They do not answer their phone in person, and do not respond to voicemail or e-mail messages. This is unacceptable to me as a consumer. I hope April Cornell gets their customer service organized. The product is important, but customer service is a critical aspect of their business, and it is shocking they don't know this.

The five dresses I've purchased were all adorable and well made! The half slip was lovely as well! I've been buying these dresses for seasonal dressing, and have been pleased with each purchase. I bought a red floral for Christmas, a green floral for Thanksgiving. The floral teal dress is for St. Patrick's Day, and a blue jean dress for any day. My pastel peach dress is for my upcoming birthday! The half slip goes under all of them. I love this company!

I wish I knew about this company before I ordered.
I bought a dress, it looked pretty on line, but it seemed cheaply made. I needed to return this dress. Initial shipment cost me $12, to return it they charged me another $12. So I am out $24. In addition it was 3 weeks after I returned dress, and I still did not have a refund until I contacted them, then suddenly my refund appeared, minus $12 for returning item.
Not good at all. I would not recommend doing business with this company.
The dresses are longer than they look…
The dresses are often longer than they look in the catalog and online. The colors are different shades as well sometimes. Some clothing is made with gauze fabric which is usually an inexpensive fabric, but the price does not reflect this, although I hope the extra cost is going towards labor. LOVE all the lovely fabrics used otherwise and have found the customer service very attentive to my issues in the past.

Very unhappy experience with April Cornell. I placed an order 2 weeks ago for a pair of boots for a Christmas present. The credit card was promptly charged for the price of the boots, plus an exorbitant s&h fee, but I bit the bullet and bought them. It said they were "In Stock". After not hearing anything for 12 days after placing the order about the boots being shipped, I tried to use the website to determine the order status with no luck - very poor website design. The only way to "Contact Us" was via email. It took them 2 days to respond, only to be told that the boot was no longer in stock in the size that I had ordered and paid for. Who knows how long it would have taken them to get around to notify me that they were not honoring my order, and I would receive a refund in 2-3 days with processing.

I bought a tablecloth which looked like it had a very light background on the website. To my surprise, the tablecloth that I received was largely green. April Cornell charges $12 for returns unless IT determines that there was a quality problem. In this case it didn't. So I'm stuck paying $80 (including all of the shipping charges) to get my original $48 back. I'll never buy from them again!!!
I ordered 2 dresses a week ago
I was very worried that I would not receive my orders as I did not receive any shipping or tracking info on my last 2 orders and I was very upset, however I finally received email confirmation the my orders shipped so I am relieved now.
Disappointed
I've been looking at April Cornell for a while now without ordering. Their stuff was very unique looking, but bit too "cutsy" and slightly out-of-date for me.
Then l saw the "Artists Smock". It looked so perfect, just what l wanted for Fall and Winter. So l ordered it, and was really looking forward to getting it.
It arrived on time, but I was quite disappointed. The fabric is so thin that you can see light through it. The sleeves are just a bit too short and that is unusual for me. For the price, l expected better. I did like the freebie shopping bag that was added to the order, that is cute. They included a 10% off my next purchase which has an expiry date of 9/2/23 . .today is 9/7/23, so it's useless and poor product control.
From the comments on here, about the trouble with customer service etc. l won't bother returning it. I will roll up the sleeves and wear it open over a cami or t-shirt. But l had hoped for better quality material and a better fit.

Bad sizing worse customer service
Sizing is super odd. I ordered two dresses and one didn’t fit so I returned it. I am easily a medium and sometimes a large. A small was huge. I had to get an XS in one dress and I only know that because the lady on the phone had the same measurements as me. My friend ordered me a dress as a gift and got a medium and it was too large. Then she got a small and it was too large. The shipping exchange took months! Then on the last try for an xs they never got back to her. Also the quality is so cheap. Walmart style cheap. It is so not worth the money.

I have been trying to reach customer service all day! No success. Have left several messages, none of which have been returned. Returned an item over 3 weeks ago. Was told last week it would take 2 weeks to process the return.Now at week 3+ and no refund and no answer at customer service.

The sizes were way off on the dresses. I returned 2 dresses immediately and it has been a month since I returned them. Customer Service is horrible. They do not answer their phone and you cannot wait for a representative. It eventually forces you to leave a message. It took 5 days for a call back and then when I was speaking the phone disconnected and they didn't call back. Tried emailing and they said 3 weeks from receiving it. It has been over 3 weeks and after emailing again they said they were busy and it would be processed soon. I will not buy from them again. Don't do it...not worth it.

This is an update of the review below. I got an email from AC's customer service, saying that the company is unable to hold an order, ie, deliver it a little later. If that's indeed the case, why did AC not notify me? Why did AC ship (part of) my order, knowing I'd be away when it arrived?
I found the company's service ok - clothes could use less "chemistry"
I have bought from April Cornell many times and I find that they have been reliable throughout. Agreed that the sizing may be generous and that they could refresh their styles to be a tad more modern for the price. They tend to use quite a bit of "chemistry" in their fabrics that smell bad and are bad for people and the environment. I would give them 0 stars for not disclosing treatments for wrinkle free clothing. I react to that so yes, I have to return such items at my own cost. BUT, I have been successful at reaching their customer service and discussing this factor.

yesterday after read here about April Cornell , I was going to cancel my order of 3 dresses for my granddaughter. Well I just got my delivery this evening order was place 02/21/23 and today is 02/23/23. These dresses is very cute , I love the fabric and it is stand size 7-8 . I will continuing with them and I will try a dress for my self. Thank you April Cornell

THIS IS A TERRIBLE COMPANY. There are too many things to list to verify this but one big problem is their horrible customer service and another, their crazy sizing issues. You order your normal size and (as happened with me) it can fit a full 3 sizes bigger!!!! This is the case with every piece of their clothing. Then you have to pay a fortune to return the items AT YOUR OWN EXPENSE, as they never refund any shipping costs either way. If they owe you a refund, beware, as they take their sweet time.

I ordered what looked like a lovely holiday vest. After three weeks, I finally received notice that the item is no longer available. My money was refunded without issue. So, while I was disappointed to not receive the item, and while it took 3 weeks for the company to figure it out, they did the right thing without any work from me. My one previous order came without a hitch. I'll give them another try.
Customer service doesn’t exist
Customer service phone number is not answered. You are told to leave a message and they will get back to you in 2-4 days! I’ve left messages, sent emails but nobody ever responds. Best not to order anything from them because the risk is too high.
There is no customer service
There is no customer service. Calls are not returned. Days to respond to email. Unacceptable delays in getting refunds. Worst retail experience in my life. Clothes are cheaply made in India.
Terrible customer service
Terrible customer service, order placed and paid for 1 and 1/2 months ago was not shipped . I made several attempts to contact customer service that is slow to respond and when responding gives a 'soon' to ship date. I will NEVER order from this company again.
