Disappointed after Two Weeks
I have had the Aqua Tru Carafe for 2 weeks, after using a distiller for 25 years. The distiller is easy to use, doesn't waste a drop, but takes 5 hrs to make 1 gallon of water. My concern is that, in an extended blackout, the small power back-up I have can only produce 1/3 gallon. So I purchased the Aqua Tru Carafe.
I am not happy with it, and will likely it for these reasons.
1) Too Much Water Wasted: I live in NM where every drop of water is precious. The Carafe requires the tank be full to the top, but it leaves 1/3 of the water as toxic wastewater that cannot be used for anything other than washing the floor or car (told to me by your customer service).
2) The Design is Awkward: The design is not practical and wastes countertop space. With the plug in the back, it makes sense to place the back at the counter wall, and the carafe is easy to access. However, this means that the tank in not accessible, so I have to pull the whole machine out every time I make water. If I put the machine across the back wall (meaning tank-machine-carafe) to make more counter space, then the carafe only faces to the right and is hard to access since it can only be pulled off in one direction.
3) The machine would be more useful if the unit could be against the back wall (tank-unit-carafe) but with the carafe facing forward, not to the right. When I look at it, it seems this would not be difficult. Right now, I have the unit placed diagonal on the counter, which is the only way I can access both the tank and the carafe.
4) The filters were difficult to install, and did not easily slip into place, I had to use all my strength to get them in. I am concerned whether I can even get them out when they need replacement.
5) The unit is relatively quiet, but in the last 2 days it has started rattling when purifying. It sounds like some part is maybe loose. Not good after only 2 weeks.
6) The 3 positives about the unit are that the water tastes good, and only takes 15 minutes to produce a half gallon of water. It is also appealing visually.
Bottom Line: I am likely returning the unit and going back to my distiller. Disappointed.

Definitely worth it
We are really satisfied with our AquaTru under sink water filtration system. It makes me happy to know that my family can drink clean water without having to worry about a thing. We also own countertop one and it’s been great!

Super responsive customer-friendly company
Very positive experience with this company. I bought aquatru carafe system. It came very quickly, and we tested the water before filtration and after (with an electronic device not just strips) The water was much cleaner after going through the system. So effectiveness was independently confirmed. The machine is reasonably quiet and easy to use. But on top of that we experienced incredible customer support: our unit was leaking a little from the bottom. Still working just fine but had to stand on a tray and we had to empty the tray sometimes. We reported it to the company and they first (very promptly) gave us some simple checks to perform to make sure we installed the filters properly, and when we confirmed that we did they immediately sent us a whole new unit. We were really surprised. It wasn’t a big catastrophic fault of the machine. It was still working, just a little inconvenient. And they were so strict on their warranty policy that it was enough to send us a whole new unit. 10/10. When in few years i upgrade to under-the-sink system im definitely going with aquatru again.

Picked up one of the AquaTru' Stainless steel water bottles mainly for running and outdoor workouts, and it's honestly been a solid purchase so far. Keeps the the water cold for a good amount of time and feels durable without being heavy to carry around. The design is simple but practical.

AquaTru has demonstrated gross…
AquaTru has demonstrated gross incompetence and a disregard for consumer safety. After reporting a safety-critical leak on April 6, 2026, I was subjected to over a month of missed deadlines and broken promises.
April 9: A replacement was promised but never shipped.
April 18: An 'escalation' was promised within 5 days; it took nearly a month for a response.
April 22: The company sent a return label that expired before they even shipped the replacement.
May 13: Only after I initiated a bank dispute did the company attempt to ship a part and process a refund.
The logistical failure and lack of communication forced me to spend dozens of hours of personal and professional time managing their warranty breach.
Even after the merchant confirmed a refund was processed on May 13th, they have continued to send unsolicited hardware to my home on consecutive days (May 14th and May 15th). I have refused all late shipments to ensure the merchant retains their property and I receive my promised refund. This lack of coordination further documents the company's total logistical failure.

I love the quality of the water
I love the quality of the water. I feel good about giving my family clean drinking water and I thank you for that. I have only 2 concerns: when the machine is new it runs quietly, but within 6 months it's very, very loud. Also the filters are quite costly and with a family of 4 we are having to change all of them every 6 months. Perhaps I should have purchased a larger model, but that too is quite costly.
