If I could rate minus 5 stars I would, my premium for my labador has jumped from £88 pcm to my new premium of £166 pcm. I have been paying premium for 8 years and had 1 small claim, which I paid most of it with the excess.

It is absolutely disgusting that when your dog gets older and may need to go to vets. that the premium is now so high that most people would have paying it.

I have just cancelled my membership.

Don't bother insuring your pet with argos pet insurance. I was paying £100 a month for my cat as she had an accident 8 years ago that left her partially paralysed on her hind legs, and when my cat had to be put to sleep after being insured with them for 14 years they refused to pay any of the cremation costs.
What they dont tell you is that if your pet is over 11 years old they dont pay for half of what you actually insure them for.
The manager that called me back was very condescending and smug and thats not really what anyone needs when they've just had to have a pet put to sleep.
Dreadful service from people who genuinely couldn't care less.

I would avoid Argos Pet Insurance at all costs! My dog had an ear infection earlier this year due to a build up of ear wax, which was completely cleared. Fast forward a few months he was itching his ears again, so I took him to the vet to get a check up to ensure the infection had not returned. The vet confirmed that he was itchy due to increased pollen and he did not have any sign of infection. He prescribed us a spray and my dog has been fine since. Argos has decided to reject my claim because it is a pre-existing condition which makes no sense as it was an allergy not a return of his infection.

AVOID- I cancelled my policy straight away and have never had a service like this before.

We had an insurance policy for our dog since he was a puppy. He had numerous claims for operations and then developed heart problems from an early age. Argos Pet Insurance paid out for every single claim we put through, there was never any issues with their policy and they made it so easy. I would highly recommend them as because of the care and expensive medications we were able to claim for, our dog lived a great life until he was nearly 13.

So, nearly a year with Argos, had no claims, paid £300 out of our own pocket for a an emergency vet appointment when our pup ate a poo bag and had an injection to make him vomit it up. He has just shown some lameness and he has had some anti inflammatories etc that have not worked, he was then recommended to have and X-ray which was sent to a specialist that has come back saying he needs a scan an possibly an operation on his elbow. The cost for initial treatment was over £900 so we put a claim in through the portal, the pup was booked into the specialist over a week later, however Argos will not approve pre-payment for the scan or possible operation until the initial claim is authorised, that was over a week ago and now they have said it is delayed further because they need details of the previous vet’s, I sent this to them as soon as asked which was two days ago but now they say it will be another 5 days due to this. I now have to £1500 for the scan and a possible total of £4000 is he needs an operation. You get insurance so you do not have to find money like this, as the insurance usually pays. I am very disappointed with Argos pet insurance and their time scales, do they expect me to let my pup walk around with lameness getting worse until they can get around to authorising the claim? It is not like you are going to have the claim and change insurance, once you claim you are with that insurance company like it or not because others will not cover you for the existing problem. I am sure they will very their money back over the years with price rises! Not happy with the service one bit, and chose Argos for their cover and the review on here saying they were quick.

I was extremely disappointed with my recent experience with Argos Pet Insurance.

Despite making no claims in the last year, my annual premium increased by almost £200. When I compared prices with other insurers, I found multiple policies offering better cover for my cat at less than half the price. It was impossible to justify staying with Argos given the significant increase and lack of value.

What made the experience even more frustrating was my interaction with customer service. Rather than listening to my concerns, the adviser repeatedly spoke over me, and I could hear them sighing during the conversation, which came across as dismissive and unprofessional. Their responses felt smug and gave the impression that they had no interest in helping or explaining the premium increase in a meaningful way.

As a loyal customer, I expected better treatment and a willingness to discuss my concerns. Instead, I was left feeling undervalued and frustrated. Based on both the excessive price increase and the poor customer service I received, I would not recommend Argos Pet Insurance.

Can’t fault them, when I needed them at a very difficult time I didn’t have to do anything. The vet got in touch with them, the next thing I knew was a text saying it had been accepted and the next day a text saying it had been paid. Brilliant.

Using a comparison site I picked Argos because it is great cover. Also the excess, monthly DD payments were great. Great service easy to understand what's not to love?

I’ll have to say I was well impressed by how quick and hassle free my experience with Argos Pet insurance was!
They refunded me in a matter of days when my dog was ill and I’ve claimed against my insurance, no questions asked!

My first claim for my dog after having the insurance for 3 years it was payed very quickly and without question. Thank you very much.

My gorgeous cockapoo had to be sedated to remove a grass seed that had travelled in his leg and caused an abscess so my vet bill was over £500. Within a day I had confirmation my claim was approved and within 4 days the money was paid. Really fast feedback and payment made the whole situation far less stressful.

Vet treatment, claimed and paid out all in less than 1 week.. super impressed with how quickly it went through..

The Argos Pet Insurance staff have always been wonderful - kind, communicative and genuinely concerned about the well-being of our furry friends, Cherif in particular was so kind when I sobbed down the phone about two years ago as I was so worried about Toby, my little chihuahua, as he had developed a heart murmur. I'd had the insurance for about five years (give or take) and had never claimed. He sorted everything out for me, as I found accessing the portal of their website quite difficult to navigate. Up to now, all excellent! Someone was going to call me regarding my insurance renewal as I'd commented that it was rather expensive. No-one called, and the next thing was I received a renewal contract for considerably more per month, I think it was nearly 50% more. This was some months ago, so I don't remember exact amounts, but it was ridiculous, so I cancelled it. I waited a month for someone to contact me, but no-one did. I had paid in the region of £2,500 over the first four years. The treatment for his heart murmur was £755.93 for an ECG - no surgery, so Argos was still well in profit, and his condition is now stable and has been since it was discovered. I found the fact that they had not even bothered to call and suggest a different plan really significant. The customer care staff are lovely, absolutely great - but the finance department leaves a lot to be desired.....

Very easy and quick to make a claim, had no issues with submitting online or adding an additional claim to the existing one.

Speedy resolution to claim. My dog at almost 10 years old developed an ear infection. I hadn't used insurance from he was 10 Months old and I had been thinking of canceling it. Now glad I didn't. Vet fixed dog appropriately, made claim on my behalf to Argos Pet insurance and claim settled within days. Happy dog and happy owner.

The claim was easy to submit, was dealt with very speedily, I could check the progress easily, and your reimbursement was very quick, thank you

I have never experienced such support from Argos pet insurance company they always help especially when your pets get old and frail.
Best insurance company I have dealt with will recommend to everyone who wants to ensure Thier fur babies are well covered

Argos pet insurance were fast acting to pay out which helped with the financial struggle.
