I've now ridden my mountain bike with…

I've now ridden my mountain bike with the Ascent sport version saddle about half a dozen rides. All of these rides have been one hour plus in duration. It's is definitely one of the most comfortable saddles I've ridden. I also notice that in instances where I've been off the bike a couple of weeks. The saddle does not punish my rear for missing rides

Two big problems...

1) Shipping: There was effectively no tracking after I submitted my order. The tracking number provided took me to a mystery page with no information except a link to an "alternate" tracking site (!). This opened the App Store, where I was invited to download a mysterious shipping app I'd never heard of, with a two-star rating. This was the same on my phone and in multiple browsers on my laptop, and it meant I had no idea if my gloves were coming the next day, the next week, or the next month.

Meanwhile I received multiple emails from Ascent asking how I was enjoying my "saddle." Mind you, I'd ordered gloves. I reached out to Ascent wondering if I'd been shipped the wrong product, and to their credit they wrote back immediately, apologizing for the odd emails and nonfunctional tracking system. As it turned out the gloves arrived quickly enough, but if they're selling merchandise on the internet they should have a tracking system that works. I should mention the gloves arrived in a plain plastic envelope with no documentation, labeling, shipping invoice, etc. Weird.

2) Product: The gloves are just not great. I wouldn't even call them "good." They fit okay (I used their sizing system and it was accurate) but the clunky construction and stiff material in the fingers makes them too inflexible for cycling, and thus uncomfortable.

This could sort of be forgiven if they performed their main task: Keeping my fingers warm, which they do not. I rode on a windy 36°F day and my fingers went numb, thawing out only after a few miles when my blood started flowing. I would have been warmer and more comfortable with a pair of good quality work gloves at half the price.

Why haven't I returned them? Because I found out it requires sending them back at my expense to Sweden. Maybe this was mentioned when I ordered, but not prominently.

Maybe their saddles are decent, I don't know, but I based on my experience I won't be buying anything else from Ascent.

EDIT: Hi Ascent, I see you've replied. Thanks. You want to make this right? Then refund my money without making me pay half the cost of the gloves to send them back to Sweden, and then wait weeks if not months.

Also, you say this is not the "standard of service you aim to provide," yet this is exactly what you provide — no tracking, no documentation or labeling, and spam emails asking about how I'm enjoying products I didn't order, while I haven't yet received the product I did order.

Idea: Rather than "aiming," just do it. Take down all your ads until you've managed to accomplish this very basic thing. You know, the thing every company I've ever ordered from manages to do.

Regarding shipping, the tracking experience you described is not the standard we aim to provide. The link redirecting to an app download and the confusion around the product emails clearly caused unnecessary concern, and we apologize for that. While we’re glad the gloves arrived quickly and that our team responded promptly, the process should have been smoother and clearer from the start. We’re actively reviewing the tracking flow and automated emails to prevent this happening again.

We’re also sorry to hear the gloves didn’t perform as expected. Warmth and flexibility are obviously essential for cold-weather cycling, and it’s disappointing to hear they didn’t keep your hands comfortable in 36°F conditions. In terms of returns, we understand that international return shipping can be inconvenient. We ship worldwide and operate from one centralized returns warehouse, which is why returns are

No more crushed nuts and pounded butt.

No more crushed nuts and pounded butt.
The Ascent saddle is the fifth saddle I've tried on my current e-bike (Gazelle Ultimate C380). On the others, I've had to be careful how I perched my backside on the saddle and I still have problems with sliding off of the optimal position, resulting in smashed nuts and/or pounded butt.
This past Saturday, I did a 20-mile city ride and felt good at the end.
I would like more spring in the seat but it is, aside from that, my favorite saddle.

nice seat for the price... unapologetic.

The people that create this bike seat are honest hard working bike enthusiasts that seem to do everything possible to create comfortable bike seat that performs with the best of bike seats, yet at a fraction of the cost of the uber expensive bike seats.

It is certainly an improvement over the standard Specialized seat... but, I have nothing to compare with the $$ pricy seats... but
this seat gives me no stress or hard sit points that create distracting pain... I never had those kind of issues with the Specialized seat that came with my $7000 Turbo Levo MTB, but... on long rides I'd get some muscle tendon strain on the back upper thighs... I felt was odd, since I ride enough not to have out of shape muscles there... but, with this saddle, those weird stress muscle issuses disappeared.

I don't have the experience of trying the very expensive seats... or the short seat without the traditional nose that sticks out...
these were very intriging to me in my quest for the perfect seat....
however,
I ran out of extra money to throw at seats...
but,
with this seat...
I'm no longer in the market for a replacement...
until perhaps I win the lottery
;)

The company have been good to deal with. Communication is good and the products (bike seats) are comfortable and appear well made.

This seat is good but overpriced

This seat is good, but no better then the Cloud9 seats i have used for years. The Cloud9 seats are a lot cheaper and they don’t ship from China.

Communication good. Returns HORRIBLE!

Communication was good (Emma) but the product not so much, and the return policy is HORRIBLE!

I bought a pair of winter riding gloves, wore them just walking outside for about five minutes to see if they were indeed warm. They were not. When I asked about returning them for a refund ("100% Satisfaction Guarantee") I was required to mail them at my expense TO SWEDEN! Even though they were shipped to me from within the United States.

The gloves cost $39 but the return shipping was $21! I ended up keeping them but they will just go into a bin in the closet. Ugh.

Staff is super helpful

Emma was especially helpful in the beginning when she sent me some hints how to adjust the saddle. Then I had some surgery on one of my legs and had to stay off the bike as well as the very cold frosty weather in Utah. I’m back at it again and still doing small tweaks. Staff is very responsive to emails and offering suggestions

BEWARE of return policy

BEWARE of return policy. They say you can return the seat with in 30 days, but they only give you a 15% refund. If you want more, then you have to ship the seat to Sweden at your expense, even though the seat was shipped to you from California and they have multiple Wyoming addresses on their website. BUYER BEWARE is all I can say.

No longer a pain in the butt

Been noticing my old saddle was becoming a pain, no doubt due to me not getting any younger. Looked around and found this saddle and decided to give it a try. WOW what a difference. I can ride longer and more comfortably. I highly recommend this saddle.

Honest review

Honestly, the saddle is great, I definitely feel no pain on my buttocks. I also don't get tired as fast as the original seat.

Once you order

Once you order from them their process is super super slow by today’s standard, 3 days to process your order before it is shipped. Then another 7 days to receive which is insane because they are relatively local. A tracking number with some no name company that you would have to download their app to track your order as oppose to UPS or USPS.
Took my normal 8 mile ride yesterday and didn’t have to stand to reposition at all. Comfortable saddle.

I wish I'd tried earlier!

I'm 73 and a frequent cyclist. I was becoming more uncomfortable despite multiple adjustments to my saddle, the renowned Brooks B17 British leather touring saddle. On long rides I kept shifting around and ended up with 'numb nuts'. I saw reviews of the Ascent saddle and bought two - one for my road bike (not often used) and one for my flat-bar day-to-day bike. The difference was remarkable. It's taken a bit of fine-tuning to get it just right, but I finished my first 70K ride totally comfrotable and feeling I could just keep going. I wish I'd switched earlier!

Narrow, Comfortable, and Performance-Focused

I bought the Sport+ model for my Peloton and highly recommend it for athletes. The narrower profile is far more comfortable than the wider stock saddle the bike comes with, especially during longer or more intense rides. A great upgrade if you prefer a performance-oriented seat.
