We are sorry that the original next-day delivery was not achieved and understand the customer's frustration.

We would, however, like to clarify that our team responded to the customer's emails, escalated the order to our Shipping Manager and actively worked to resolve the situation.

By the time cancellation was requested, this high-value order had already been fully processed into the DPD network. At that stage, we needed to retrieve the parcel and confirm it was safely returning before completing the refund. This prevents a situation where a refund is issued while the courier subsequently completes delivery of the goods.

The difficulty was therefore one of timing between the cancellation request and an order already progressing through the delivery network, rather than the request being ignored.

We regret that the original delivery commitment was not achieved and that the experience fell short of expectations.

We’re sorry that the delivery did not meet the timescale originally expected, particularly as the equipment was required for a specific trip.

We’re pleased that the order was delivered on the Friday as confirmed and that you were happy with both the products and our pricing. However, we completely understand the frustration caused by the delivery timing and the conflicting information shown through DPD.

Once an order enters the courier network, the final movement and delivery of the parcel is handled by DPD, and unfortunately the service provided on this occasion did not meet the delivery standard either we or our customer expected.

We take this seriously and have raised delivery performance directly with our DPD Account Manager to help improve both the reliability of deliveries and the information provided to our customers.

We were disappointed to read this review, as several of the conclusions simply do not reflect the facts.

Ashton Little is a genuine, family-run UK business based in the heart of Derbyshire, so the suggestion that we are a “scam” is categorically rejected.

We also find the claim that the product was “50% overpriced” surprising. Our prices are extremely competitive, and photographic equipment often has very similar model names at very different prices. It appears a different model may have been used for comparison.

For clarity, our products are supplied brand new, not second-hand, which is naturally reflected when comparing prices against used or refurbished equipment.

Finally, where DPD chose to leave the parcel relates to the courier’s handling of the delivery, not the legitimacy of Ashton Little.

We welcome genuine criticism, but serious allegations should be based on accurate information.

We are sorry to see this review, but we need to clarify an important point regarding the warranty.

Ashton Little did not simply refuse to honour the warranty. Our warranty covers manufacturing defects; it does not cover accidental damage, misuse or other damage identified during inspection. In this case, the repair assessment indicated damage to the camera, which is why the repair was considered chargeable.

The suggestion that the repair charge arose simply because the camera was not purchased through a particular UK distribution channel therefore does not accurately reflect our position.

We stand behind the warranty supplied with our products and will always support a customer where a genuine manufacturing fault is identified within the applicable warranty period.

We appreciate that receiving a chargeable repair assessment is disappointing, but unfortunately a warranty cannot cover damage that falls outside its terms.
