Joined Axle’s VPP in mid April. A few teething issues due to my SolaX system needing a newer LAN/dongle. Which wax covered by the joining bonus.

4 months in 14 events at circa £9 each.

Usually works perfectly however it is in Beta testing and across ) battery/inverter manufacturers so I’ve had a couple of occasions where the inverter hasn’t reset to its previous settings. So if needs a bit of monitoring until all the creases are ironed out.

Support is excellent. You actually talk to people who are uk based, passionate, and know what they are talking about.

To be totally transparent, I decided to set up a user Facebook group. So we can see any common issues as do Axle who quickly communicate.

Excellent service. They buy electricity from my solar powered battery at £1 per kWh. All automated, and a minimum of £10 per month.

Signed up approx 6 weeks ago and have earned approx 50 GBP - won’t pay for the cruise but a useful top up for no effort or inconvenience. Not had any instances of being “double booked” with Axle seeking export same time as Octopus - in fact no problems at all! Seems to be a winner!!

I am 8 events in with Axle using a Solax inverter. Great experience so far and have earnt ~£30. This is the first-ever revenue we've been able to generate from our solar and batteries because we do not have an MCS certificate. Consequently, Octopus Energy won't give us an export MPAN.

Have been signed up with them for almost a month and have had no problems at all. Have already earned about £16. A no-brainer as far as I can see.

My system is 8 years old. Sign up a bit wooly but all good so far. Gone quiet this month.
Edit, August. Several "events" went to plan.
Then another did not. My system stopped working, and all Solar power went to the grid instead of recharging the battery.
The prob was that Axle's reset procedure had simply not happened. They do warn that this might happen, but after 5 successes I didn't expect problems.
Axle change 7 settings in the home. The user must reset at least 3 of these. (The other 4 are 2 sets of 2 time intervals). This can be manually done from your phone app or on the website. After your changes to:-
Eco -ENABLE = True on Log ie set to green,
Enable DC Discharge =false on Log ie OFF
AC Charge Enable = True on Log ie ON

I really feel Axle should send all users a guide to this. There are dozens of headings in GIVE settings, and the names vary a bit between computer and phone. One needs to know whether to set Inverter or Battery, and the inverter has several sub-groups to navigate.

Easy and simple to use. I disabled auto control and have done each event manually. This has been added hassle but its worked a treat for £1 a kWh! amazing rates. And very quick payouts also.

Axle have some way to go to get this to be an efficient and seamless process taking onboard issues and errors with auto set ups. I hope this happens with time.

Givenergy recommended them. Axel took energy from my batteries once on 10/06/2026.They ruined a faultless batteries and PV panel system . It seems I have been locked out of my own system by an Axel Grid Event. I am now getting the installers in to try and rectify this appalling mess at my expense. I believe they have a faulty program. I do not recommend Axel energy at all.

Great idea to use private people's house batteries to balance out grid peaks/troughs. Reality was that sign-up process was confusing and, worse, a recent trial ended up actually costing me more money. I suggest they don't do trials on live systems without more testing first.
We were nudged into using them by our house battery manufacturer, GivEnergy.
Emailed Axle yesterday, not even an auto-response email yet, let alone a proper one. Still waiting.
It's a good idea but badly executed so far.

6 8 26 Update: 3 days after asking for help got a reply acknowledging their error and giving £5 for inconvenience. Today, after another session yesterday of sending electricity to the grid, my apps are no longer working. Just clicked 'Help' on the email they sent afterwards and it goes to a '404' page! Tried using the 'Chat'. No-one available. Now awaiting someone - possibly - to get back to me, sometime. It really isn't impressive.
20 8 26 Systems seem to be working better now. Upgraded to 3*. Will upgrade again if system stays reliable.
