A happy customer.

I have been insured by Balens for around 10 years and have throughout felt absolutely assured and confident of their support and knowledge of my professional field. They provide me with the confidence to practice, at a price which doesn't cause me to wince, knowing that I am well covered should the need ever arise. Communication around renewal, and transparency of the process, is also exemplary.

I’ve been insured with Balens since January 2025 as a student coach and will continue with them as a graduate too. I found their service easy and straightforward to use.
I would recommend them.

Professional, supportive, responsive, kind and human

I have been with Balens since 2016 and I have never needed to claim, until 2024. I was being wronged by this complaint and I felt totally over whelmed throughout the 18 month process. Lewis Green was placed as my Claims Manager for Balens and was absolutely brilliant from start to finish. In fact the whole Company is fantastic. I was treated with consideration, time and respect. They supported me and advocated for me considerably.
Any day or time I called Lewis with an update, or to receive advise on my 'next move' he responded with such professionalism within the scope of his practice and a kindness that was just what I needed. This all sounds a bit gushy, but I was in such need of support as an individual independent therapist.
Lewis directed me to a brilliant solicitor who was pivotal to the case closing and 'nothing to answer'. What a relief. What a brilliant decision to join Balens all those years ago!
My deepest thank you to Balens Team, Lewis Green and Paul Grant.

Strongly recommend Balens

I have now been dealing with Balens for just over a year. Nothing is a problem for them whether it's on line email or by phone.
The staff have been very helpful, kind and courteous and listen to what you are asking about and carry out all the requests.
Strongly recommended.

I had good experience with balens.

I had good experience with balens so far.
They are very professional and reply to queries in short time. In a very short notice they reviewed by application and documents and provided me with the insurance.

Bespoke insurance.

I contacted Balens as I needed some insurance cover for my employment as a personal trainer. I needed a bespoke policy as I wanted to add VO2 testing which is not normally covered by standard policies. Balens and especially Mae Vincent-Lloyd, took time to understand my requirements, unlike other insures who just refused to offer any advice or cover. They asked questions to establish what I wanted and what I would be doing. They offered me cover and I am now able to continue and develop my career. Was very impressed by the customer service I received and would highly recommend them to anyone.

Used for years, really recommend

Have used Balens for business insurance for years and they have always been quick to respond, focus on helping you get what you want and have good customer service that makes you feel valued as a customer. Would really recommend. Also would like to personally thank Keavy Hart for their recent help with a query.

Fab work

I was having trouble accessing my account. The advisor was extremely helpful and within minutes got me access to my insurance documents and extra information I needed for my work. Fab service.

Simply Outstanding

"Elizabeth is an outstanding insurance advisor—knowledgeable, humorous, efficient, and truly professional. I thoroughly enjoyed our interaction. Not only did she provide all the information I needed, but she also made me feel genuinely cared for. She followed up promptly with an email summarizing everything we discussed. Hands down, this was the best customer experience I have EVER had!

Balens no response to emails in a timely fashion

I have been with Balens for years and I have seen their customer servixe deteriotate since Covid. I have been a loyal customer for about fifteen years and I am sorry to say that it takes them so long to reply to my emails over the last three years. I have even mentioned this to them in the emails without acknowledgement. So sad from how great the company was before covid. I cannot even get through on the phone line because it cuts me off.

Impossible to Renew - no communication.

I had the same issue as someone else - they didn't bother to reply to any of my emails for a week or 2 or sometimes until I followed up. Invariably they had misunderstood my question or requirements meaning I could never get to the point of renewing my insurance. So, the window for renewal is now closed. I have seen that other insurers have complaints on their Trustpilot reviews when it comes to paying out, even when the signup process has been amazing. If Balens is so careless about even signing someone up, I have no faith in their ability to follow up on a claim.

Impossible to renew

I'm trying to renew my insurance and it's taking weeks to get a response. When i called them, they said that i need to wait. It's nothing they can do

I am so grateful to Balen’s. I had started to feel quite overwhelmed when starting my new business venture but Balen’s were amazing. They gave me advice and guidance where I needed it and checked in with me ensure that everything was finalised and I was all set. I would recommend them to anyone and I couldn’t have done it without them.
