Beware of taking out an insurance package online.
Beware of taking out an insurance package online. Don't.!! Wait till you're actually picking the car up. This experience ended up being the MOST EXPENSIVE car rental EVER in all my years of renting. It was not! a bargain. A middleman company called Discover, based in Europe, apart from the rental, also sold insurance that is absolutely useless in Australia. They also cost me a sneaky hidden international exchange rate fee on my credit card. I did get a vehicle upgrade thanks to the staff at the Cairns depot. They were well intentioned and honest. Lengthy check in process
Lengthy check in process. Weird info about insurance that felt misleading. Car was clunky and sluggish and felt like it was going to break down. We returned it a day early as it didn’t feel safe.
