I couldn't imagine having a better cycling insurance than Bikmo. having even a small bicycle accident was not easy and the damage on the bike kept me back from training. I felt comfortable with Bikmo.... Ver mais

Ich habe seit 05/2023 bei Bikmo zwei Rennräder versichert, nachdem ich mich im Internet informiert hatte und von den überwiegend positiven Bewertungen überzeugt war. Leider hat sich diese Entscheidung als großer Fehler herausgestellt.
Vor etwa zwei Wochen wurden meine Frau und ich durch eine bislang unbekannte Person zu Sturz gebracht. Dabei sind unsere Fahrräder beschädigt worden. Die Schadensmeldung bei Bikmo war bereits unnötig kompliziert und zeitaufwendig.
Die eigentliche Enttäuschung kam jedoch mit der Antwort der Versicherung. Schäden wie Kratzer, Dellen oder andere „kosmetische Veränderungen“ werden nicht übernommen, solange die Funktion des Fahrrads nicht beeinträchtigt ist. Für mich ist das völlig unverständlich – eine Beschädigung ist eine Beschädigung, unabhängig davon, ob das Fahrrad noch fahrbereit ist oder nicht.
Nach dieser Logik wäre selbst ein stark zerkratztes Fahrzeug kein Schaden, solange es noch fährt. Das wirkt auf mich realitätsfern und wenig kundenorientiert.
Ich werde meine Versicherung bei Bikmo kündigen und das Geld künftig lieber selbst zurücklegen. Das erspart mir unnötigen Aufwand und Ärger im Schadensfall.
Anders als auf ihrer Website im Bereich „Bewertungen“ angegeben, antworten sie nicht schnell; manchmal dauert es bis zu zwei Wochen, nachdem ich mehrfach nachgehakt habe.
Zudem ist die Bearbeitungszeit eines Versicherungsfalls lang (ebenfalls entgegen den Bewertungen auf ihrer Website). In meinem Fall sind bereits fast zwei Monate vergangen, und es liegt immer noch keine Entscheidung von ihrer Seite vor.

I couldn't imagine having a better cycling insurance than Bikmo. having even a small bicycle accident was not easy and the damage on the bike kept me back from training. I felt comfortable with Bikmo. Their customer care is responsive, empathetic, meticulously going through your details, so have your receipts ready. They paid of quickly, not weeks or months but 3 working days. Now, I haven't felt as confortable with other companies, as with Bikmo so I switched back to Bikmo and I look forward to see them expanding in Europe too!

Ich hatte eigentlich einen guten Eindruck von Bikmo. Leider zahlen sie mir meinen Fahrraddiebstahl nicht mit der Begründung: Weil ich keine Rechnung von meinem Schloss habe, kann ich nicht nachweisen, überhaupt ein Schloss benutzt zu haben.
Ich finde das affig. Hier wird zusätzliche Bürokratie geschaffen, nur um sich rauszureden.
Ich hatte auch schon andere Fahrradversicherungen in der Vergangenheit, keine ist so kompliziert und bürokratisch wie Bikmo.
I was absolutely gutted when my bike got stolen and Ellie and Tom at Bikmo were so efficient and responsive dealing with my claim. I got back what I paid for the bike and was able to buy a new one. Very pleased with the service 👌

Other insurers may be cheaper but do not offer such good cover and support.

I had a bike insured with Bikmo which was stolen from a secure workplace location.
My claim was rejected, and I escalated it to the Financial Ombudsman Service. The Ombudsman has now upheld the rejection.
The decision came down to a very specific policy definition: theft outside the home (after 24 hours) is only covered if the bike is stored in “cycle parking” that is paid for via a monthly or yearly subscription.
In my case, the location met most criteria but wasn’t paid for—so the claim wasn’t covered.
My takeaway is that the policy is much more restrictive in practice than many people would assume. I’d strongly recommend getting absolute clarity on your exact storage situation before relying on this cover.

Their help was outstanding in helping us to decide on the security we needed for the wife's new three wheeled tricycle.

My bike was vandalised whilst chained in a town centre location. The claim was settled within three weeks (some delays due to police being slow in issuing the crime reference number and me not having enough photos of the bike at hand, so needed to dig for them - lesson for the future).
The communication with Bikmo was superb and I would like to particularly thank Jonny, Tom and Ellie for sorting out all the various documents, photos and details I sent. They also kindly phoned the bike shop to double check the quote rather than me trying to obtain clarifications.
All in all, the experience was as positive as it could be given the circumstances. Hope to get my bike fixed in a few days and be back on two wheels for my daily chores, nursery runs etc. Thank you, Bikmo Team.

I never write reviews for anything, but the customer service I received from Bikmo was so outstanding that I felt compelled to share my experience.
I came off my bike through no fault of my own, and the damage was significant. I was absolutely heartbroken because I loved that bike so much. Tom and Aaron at Bikmo were incredibly empathetic and genuinely caring. What I had expected to be a stressful, anxious claims process turned out to be unbelievably smooth thanks to them.
If I could give more than 5 stars, I absolutely would. They offered me two fantastic settlement options for my claim, and the whole experience left me feeling supported and reassured.
For all of us bike nerds out there, I can’t recommend this company enough.

Everything done through email, simple process, took a little longer than anticipated, however, I chose to use my trusted cycle shop rather than shipping the bike to be assessed. Overall it’s taken 18 days to settle the claim. Then I’ve to have the new frame rebuilt. Overall though a good experience with friendly, polite and helpful staff.

I could not be happier with my experience with Bikmo. I had forgotten about their no depreciation policy until I had my six year old bike stolen. I had my claim approved the very next day, and the representatives I dealt with were so friendly and efficient - made a bad situation completely stress free.

Excellent Service and value!.. I've used Bikmo for my e-bike insurance since 2020 and they've been great. Monthly payments were low and I've had a few issues which were all resolved and settled quickly.
And after my recent issue with an attempted theft that left my bike inoperable, the advisor (Tom Johnson) was helpful, friendly and quick to help me with my claim.
I'll be getting another bike asap and will be using Bikmo again. - Highly reccomended :)

Recommended by a fellow MTBiker, got a good price with the referral link, good information regarding the correct price evaluation of the buke and important information before committing.
Asked a few questions to the customer service team and they were also very helpful.
No regrets and seriously recommended

Could not have asked for a better service. Put the bike in for a service and the technician noticed a crack in the frame (so refused quite rightly to service it). Put in a claim with Bikmo on Monday and my claim was approved in full on Tuesday. Setting up credit with a retailer of my choice so I can buy a replacement. Excellent service
