Avoid at all costs!!!!!!!
I visited Bistro Pierre Eastbourne on 12.09.26, which was without question the worst customer service experience I have ever encountered at a restaurant.
We placed our food order and waited for almost an hour and a half, only to watch other customers who had arrived after us being served their meals while we were seemingly forgotten about. At no point did anyone come over to explain the delay or provide any update on our order.
After waiting for such an excessive amount of time, I eventually had to raise the issue myself. When I explained that we had been waiting for almost an hour and a half, I did not receive an apology or any meaningful acknowledgement of the inconvenience. The only response I received was that our food was "still cooking."
At that point, I advised that I would be leaving as I was no longer prepared to wait. Rather than offering a genuine apology or making any meaningful attempt to resolve the situation, I was told that the three drinks we had ordered would not even be taken off the bill as a "gesture of goodwill." However, despite the fact that we had received an extremely poor level of service and had waited almost an hour and a half for food that still had not arrived, I was ultimately made to pay for the drinks.
What made the situation even more disappointing was the complete lack of an apology.
I also made it clear to the female manager (whose name I don’t know) that I am local to the area and that, given the experience I had received, I would be writing a scathing review. The manager's response and attitude gave me the impression that they simply did not care, which was incredibly disappointing.
I appreciate that restaurants can become busy and that delays can happen. However, there is absolutely no excuse for allowing customers to wait nearly an hour and a half without an update, forgetting an order while serving meals to other customers who arrived later, and then failing to offer even a basic apology when the issue was raised.
The way this situation was handled demonstrated a complete lack of customer care. Had someone simply acknowledged the mistake, apologised sincerely and made an effort to put things right, I would have viewed the situation very differently. Instead, I was left feeling completely disregarded.
As a local customer, I find this particularly disappointing. I would have expected much better from a restaurant in the area, and based on this experience, I would strongly advise others to think twice before dining at Bistro Pierre Eastbourne.
Avoid!!!!!!!!!!!!

Mostly I’m satisfied with the experience- it’s GFM experience- not fine dining ; you get what you pay for.
I’m less impressed with their beer offering which is pretty dire at over £6 a pint - will never drink it again ; it lacks flavour ; taste ; depth & quality .
Thank you from Nottingham
Disappointing Portions and Poor Food Quality
Visited S-mare , I was honestly shocked by the portion sizes, especially considering we spent nearly £90 on food for two adults. I’ll post photos if I’m able to add them here, as they really show how small the portions were. The chips were particularly disappointing. They were very poor quality—dry, sticky and not enjoyable at all. I’ve honestly never been served chips like this before, and they came in a small cup with only a few pieces. For the price we paid, I expected much better quality and portion sizes. Unfortunately, based on our experience, I wouldn’t recommend this restaurant and I certainly wouldn’t return.
Appalling @ Mumbles Swansea
We arrived @ approx 11 a.m. for coffee. Not too busy. After several attempts to get the attention of a member of staff & being ignored I eventually managed to get the attention of a particularly rude young female behind the counter. No greeting, no smile. I was told to take a seat & her colleague would take my order. Having waited some time & being completely ignored by staff we decided to take our custom elsewhere. We mentioned to the particularly rude member of staff that we had waited too long to be served & no longer required service. She informed us that she wasn't bothered if we went somewhere else & that she couldn't care. I am appalled that staff in a service industry can be allowed to speak to customers in such a way. We are local but will never visit this establishment again & could certainly not recommend.

Although the restaurant is in a nice location, the food and service were very poor. The restaurant was decidedly grubby. We all had steak frites, mine was a sirloin the others had the bavette.
Really nasty sirloin steak, tasteless and tough, the bavette was even worse. The bottle of wine we had was just about drinkable. We would certainly never eat there again. Apart from the view this place has absolutely nothing to recommend it! Not particularly cheap either!
Far from even satisfactory
The restaurant was about a third occupied at any given time during our meal. The service was very slow, fair bit staff standing around and little in terms of customer service. Waited 25 minutes to be asked about order. Then waited another 30 mins for starters which were mediocre at best, soup was just about warm, cheese just about the same - like food had been sat about. The mains arrived and food again barely warm, a thin chicken breast a 5 x 5 cm cube of potato and about 7 green beans. Others food the same. Overall poor value for money, poor service and food not of great quality - wouldn’t visit again sadly
Poor customer service in Plymouth
We visited the Plymouth restaurant last night. The service was very poor. Forgotten items of food, used starter plates left on the table, gave us two glasses instead of four and there just wasn't much care involved. Plus the fact if you sit outside you have to go in and order food and then go back in to tell them when you've finished your starters! And then starter plates weren't cleared up. I had to ask for cutlery too. We didn't get a food item ordered and I went back twice to ask for it and it then arrives when we'd more or less finished our meal. The food was ok. We shan't be revisiting.
Disappointing
We visited Pierre’s Mumbles on Saturday 27th June for our wedding anniversary. We arrived 15 minutes early, and the Front-of-House was very accommodating, sitting us outside on the balcony. Our food/drink order was taken, but the mains did not arrive for an hour. They arrived without the dauphinoise potatoes, it was busy, and we eventually managed to tell the server that we hadn’t received them. We ordered a second round of drinks when the food arrived, but the drinks did not turn up, we eventually cancelled them when asking the waitress for the bill. No one came to check to see if we were happy with our meals, and we noticed that a discretionary service charge had been added to the bill. We asked for this to be removed as the table service had been awful. The attitude of the waitress changed instantly. We explained why we did not leave a tip or gratuity but she just shrugged and said “short staffed”! I could not see anyone to speak to as we left, but I had an email from Pierre’s asking me about the experience. I told them what I have said here, but not received any reply. Overall, our experience was very disappointing!
Dont bother with this place
Dont bother with this place in Eastbourne. Snooty bearded man and others who look down their noses at you when you arrive deciding whether or not to even allow you in. Today 28/06/26, around 4.30pm was a foreign woman. Sick of it. In the past I have found this place to be a good location but because of the attitude of the people letting me in I will NEVER go back. Snooty, unfriendly. The food is ok, what there is of it. Very small portions and VERY over priced. Avoid this place if you want friendly welcoming service and value for money.
We went to Bistrot pierre Eastbourne-very poor experience
We went to Bistrot pierre in Eastbourne on Tuesday 16th June for the tasting menu and had a table booked. We arrived earlier so we could have a drink and were pointed to bar stools but it was by the patio door and cold. I said this to the person who received us and pointed us to the seats. The person was most unwelcoming and when I said it was not accommodating she barked back and shrugged and said she couldn't shut the door and theres nothing she could do and to go and have a drink somewhere else and come back! How rude. This has not happened before and this is how customers are treated. We did go elsewhere for a drink and came back reluctantly. Most of the summer tasting menu was tasteless. Needless to say you did not deserve a tip for the way we were treated and poor quality food.
I then bought a group of 5 of us on Saturday 21st and again the same person seated us and had exactly the same rude attitude barking that I had booked a table for 4 and its not just a case of changing it to 5 people. As a result we did not want to stay for a meal and just had drinks and a snack. Im not prepared to pay high prices to be treated like this. Twice in one week seems to appear to be a pattern of bad behaviour and attitude. Again no tip deserved and I requested the discretionary service charge to be removed.
Overall appalling experience.
Will not be going again
Will not be going again. Food was mediocre but even that was better than the so called service which was vertically non existent. We had to ask for our drinks and were not asked if we would like anymore. Starters came then the main but then it was like sitting on the Marie Celeste no offer of dessert and by the time someone came to clear our table the garlic butter had solidified on the plates. Definitely disappointed
Best Restaurant in Liverpool
Excellent good value food. Brilliant service from Kiera and the rest of the staff. Going again soon.
Food order took 45 minutes & not hot
Bistrot Pierre, Mumbles, Swansea
Food order took 45 minutes to be delivered to the table.
No indication of a long wait was given when the order was taken.
Despite the long wait, the food was not hot, it was marginally better than lukewarm.
And the cheese in a sandwich was dried at the edges.

Visited Bistro Pierre in Button Street Liverpool yesterday evening. There were 4 of us. We hadn't booked but were welcomed very warmly by Sam.
The food was excellent, definitely recommend the sea bass and I was able to use my Taste card which reduced the overall bill by 25% which made for a great evening.
We interacted with Sam and Sean who were brilliant members of staff. A credit to the company.
Will definitely visit again soon.
Bistropierre Nottingham- a real…
Bistropierre Nottingham- a real disappointment and most probably the last time I eat at this chain of restaurant's. As a lover of French cuisine and French standards the food was not acceptable. If this had been in France I would have sent both dishes back. The French onion soup was rather tasteless, the onions overpowered by too much bread and cheese in a bowl seemingly too small. The main course of salmon fish cake was poor, the potatoes cold and undercooked, the salad limp and clearly not as fresh as one would expect. All in all a very poor experience. The French experience was far from French. British standards? High prices and poor quality. Avoid this restaurant. I find the restaurant “French Living” more in the tradition of real French cuisine and French ambience.
