Working with the blacks brokers was very good.
The staff are very helpful in all aspects of the business transaction whether that be through sourcing additional information to build an overview of a particular business or down to breaking the structure of a deal to a vendor that's very old school in operating business wise.
I hope to be working with them again soon on more deals and would recommend anyone contacting them if your looking to buy or sell a business.

I paid £3000+ VAT for the marketing package and have queried the status of this monthly since December 2021. My query was that I wanted to know what work was undertaken and any information about feedback from prospective buyers etc.

Blacks have failed to respond satisfactorily. The contact I was originally dealing with claims to have passed my query on, went away on holiday and didn’t follow up with their colleague or myself. Emails have been sent that I never received and apparently ‘can’t be re-sent’ to me to demonstrate they were sent.

After raising my complaint, the responses have received made me even more annoyed than I initially was! I wasn’t initially cross, just curious to know what was happening, but as it continues my dissatisfaction is rapidly escalating.

I’ve returned to this review with an edit because Blacks have answered with some degree of detail in Mid-April, but in the course of handling my complaint I have had one representative suggest I had sold the company (I have not) and that ‘usually when people complain it’s because they’ve actually sold their company’ which I found quite offensive. My complaint was legitimate. It would have gone away if someone had given me a straight answer early on.

I’ve since been told by another representative that they will take legal action against me for my previous review as they viewed it as libellous, which is a charming touch. At the time I wrote the review, no representative had been able to quantify what work had been done for the money I paid. That was the truth at the time and I said as much. They’ve since offered a fuller explanation, today, which would have been a trigger to me to withdraw my review, but as the explanation came along with a threat, I really think leaving an account of my perspective on this is even more important than it was before.

I was looking to compare an offer on the table to buy my business with what Blacks thought they could get. Luke didn’t beat around the bush at all, he didn’t give me some crazy valuation, cut straight to how companies in my sector were being valued, and gave me really solid advise.

We recently sold our business with Blacks and would like to thank them for the professional way this was handled.

Throughout the entire process we were kept fully informed and updated at all times and our point of contact (Chelsea) was always available or if not always returned our calls promptly.

I would have no hesitation recommending Blacks for this service.
