Cab just didn't come!
Pre-booked a cab, no cab turned up. Couldn't speak to anybody, just an automated message. Then somebody called & said they couldn't find a cab. He then put the phone down & cancelled the booking. Lucky I hadn't paid in advance. Wish I had read these reviews.
I would like to submit a complaint…
I would like to submit a complaint regarding a recent journey with Camcab.
The experience began poorly as the driver did not provide clear directions to the pickup location. After several unsuccessful attempts to contact him, he eventually called but spoke in an aggressive and unprofessional manner, raising his voice during the conversation. On more than one occasion, he also terminated the call while I was still speaking, making it unnecessarily difficult to resolve the issue and locate him.
When we finally met the driver, I was surprised by his appearance. He was dressed in shorts and a football shirt, which I did not consider appropriate professional attire for a chauffeur service.
During the journey, the driver repeatedly sang loudly and was frequently shouting at other road users. This created an uncomfortable atmosphere and fell well below the standard of service I have come to expect from Camcab.
I have used Camcab on numerous occasions in the past and have always found the drivers to be professional, well-presented, courteous, and respectful. Unfortunately, this experience was completely different and has left me very disappointed.
I would appreciate it if this matter could be investigated and if you could advise what action will be taken. Given the premium nature of the service, I do not believe the standard of this journey was acceptable.

Pre-booked cab didn’t arrive - update from CamCab
I pre-booked and paid for a cab for 5.40am to take me to Trumpington park and ride to catch a coach to Stansted. The cab didn’t arrive. After several minutes of waiting, I phoned the office several times and kept getting a voice message saying they knew I was waiting but didn’t have a driver available. Eventually I got a real person at 6.05 who told me my booking had been cancelled and a cab wasn’t coming !! I was shocked and by now had also missed my coach to the airport. After some pressure from me they agreed to send a cab to take me direct to the airport. The cab arrived at 6.25 and a very helpful driver did take me to the airport. However the whole episode was hugely stressful and unnecessary. I will not book CamCab again.
Added info. After the above review, CamCab got in touch and were very apologetic. They have reviewed their procedures. They also repaid my initial fare. Thanks for taking notice CamCab.
Left in the lurch
Booked taxi to catch a train with 2, ongoing connections. Waited outside from 5 minutes before it was due. Nothing. After 20 minutes rang the office. Told the driver came, could not locate us, left. If we still need a taxi(!!!) we have to book again and pay again.
Camcabs used to be good but i will never use them again

The first booking went to the wrong pick up point. The second attempt arrived at the correct pick up point but took me through an unusual trajectory longer, hence more expensive. I asked if he knew where he was going. He said yes. A few minutes later he asks for a postcode. Then he takes me to the wrong address because he did not have the number of the house. I was not happy about this. He wanted to call the police. I said I agreed. Then he changed his mind. He charged me £27 when it normally is £15. I asked for a receipt and he gave me a piece of paper with the number 27 written on it.

I needed a taxi on Friday afternoon to take myself and my disabled mother from our hotel in Cambridge to the Botanic Gardens to see the Christmas lights. The website promised they always came on time and the time given was 8 minutes so I paid in advance. I received a text message saying the cab had been dispatched but then several texts and calls saying they were still searching for a driver. So the first text was a lie. An hour later they were still searching for a driver so I had to cancel and get my mother to walk part of the way and get a bus in the rain. I was told I would be refunded but they have taken the money anyway. I will be making a formal complaint to them but needed to warn people not to use this company.
Terrible service
Terrible service. I booked a taxi several hours in advance and it turned up 20 minutes late so I was left waiting in an empty train station carpark alone. I paid £19 for a 5 minutes journey (1 mile) so
expect it to at least be on time.

The drivers are rude, the cars are unmarked, dirty and smell of cigarettes, a child seat is strapped in the back seat, and the knowledge is poor. Don't know the route from Addenbrooke's Hospital to Grafton Centre. No phone contact, just AI

Transporting vulnerable autistic kid to…
Transporting vulnerable autistic kid to school. Rude, unreliable and have major difficulties with communication. I will be putting in a formal complaint to the educational transport team. My son has only been with them 3 weeks and there has been 6 pick up and collections. First day had the wrong pick up time, late on collection. Today 6th Oct driver arrived 1 hour early and rude and abusive. My child had a meltdown, he wasn't due in college until 10am, driver arrived at 8.30am. They were 50 minutes late to collect my son and that is only because I had to chase them. They had the audacity to try and blame me for their inadequate communication. Abysmal, shocking experience. Avoid!

Failed to come on time
I pre-booked a taxi for 6.20 this morning and at 5.34 got a message saying the cab was on its way. Then I was called to say they were struggling to find a driver. I am flying to the USA so I didn’t need this. I had to cancel and get a lift from a family member (fortunately there was someone awake) this is a terrible service. We need to be able to rely on taxis, not just hope. Not using them will save on stress
Really bad service
We flew in to Gatwick from India. Had booked and prepaid for the cab ride to cambridge. Had provided flight number as requested. The 10am booking was almost 1 hour late. We were jetlagged and miserable. There was no attempt whatsoever by camcab to contact us with any information. We had to chase up with them for the whereabouts of the taxi. They didn't give a damn. So much for 'first world' service levels.
Shoddy, unreliable service.
Prebooked the cab several days in advance. Cab was ten minutes late, and we missed our train thanks to this. No apology or explanation from the driver. When I called the hotline for an update, it was an automated service that wasn’t helpful at all. Would never, NEVER use this company again.

We booked and paid for a taxi 24 hours in advance and it arrived 15 minutes late . No apology. We had to run for a train to get us to Stansted Airport. All very stressful.

Booked a cab at 07:50 and it didn’t turn up for nearly an hour. This isn’t the first time it has happened either. This company is consistently late and I have missed trains in the past because of them. I understand mornings are busy but how does it take an hour to find an available driver?

Perfect timing, kind driver, comfy Tesla
Perfect timing. Very friendly and kind lady driver. Very comfortable ride in her black Tesla. Since I had a knee replacement surgery 2 weeks ago, and it was a long drive I needed to be as comfy as possible, so the driver's help and understanding is greatly appreciated.
Avoid this company at all costs
Avoid this company at all costs. If I could give less than 1 star I will. I booked a taxi and paid online. 5 mins to my pickup time, I called the number, just to confirm they were enroute. Only to get called back that the taxi had been cancelled. No explanation, no apology, no contrition. They disrupted my travel arrangements horrible lot. They were condescending and rude. Terrible terrible business. Do not use! They are yet to refund me.
Unreliable
Unreliable. Accepts bookings, but then suddenly have «no drivers available», «they are all out of town», «tried to call you, but you don’t have a local number». This is about both bookings made for immediate pickup and bookings made in advance.
