Very happy with my new car and Car Planet
From start to finish, everyone at Car Planet was very helpful and found the best deal for me. Initially spoke with Eraldo who provided a great overview of the car I bought and was very personable. There was some waiting around here and there for figures to be sorted but the place is comfortable to wait in and there’s tea/ coffee / water on offer. Great product overview, they have warranty offers, paint protection offers and interior protection offers. Spoke with Dino regarding the finances and made everything simple and easy to understand. Handover was very straightforward, Mustapha handled this for me. Only downside for me was the waiting around for the car to be washed, took longer than expected. There’s a lot of customers so that could probably explain the wait. Overall very happy with my new car and the service received from Car Planet Watford.

Car Planet - STAY AWAY!!!
We saw a car and went for a test drive on 20th March 2026 which went smoothly. My wife decided she liked the car so we put down the deposit and went to collect it the next day 21st March 2026 and paid in full and purchased the 5 day drive away insurance. When the sales rep tried to purchase the road tax it did not allow us to do so. We was told DVLA site is down and we should try when we get home and every time we tried it did not go through so we had to go to the post office and were told we can not tax the car as the V5C document was registered as a disabled car and we will have to wait for the new document to come through. I feel Car Planet staff should have known about this and we had to wait 10 days before we could tax the car. So we did not drive the car for 10 days and when we eventually got the tax and my wife drove the car the engine light came on soon after and when we got this seen to we were told the power steering pump has stopped working. Since then I have called Car Planet six times and have been put on hold to speak to someone for over an hour without success. I then decided to email and no response. We got the pump replaced and 3 weeks later we get a response back and when we spoke to them they said we should not have carried out any work without there consent. Well if they had responded to me emails and phone calls I would not have done so and be out of pocket. Since then no resolution and when i contacted them they said my case was closed. I have had to part exchange the car and have made a £3500 loss as the dealership said the car was a Grade 5. Please stay away from this company as once they have your money they do not care about you at all.

Unfair dealing with prospective buyers despite asking for a deposit of £500/- rather than£99/-
On 15th May 2026 I paid a deposit of £500/- rather than £99/- as per their website to reserve a car an told them I will come on Sunday the 17th May 2026 to view Mercedes Benz A Class.To my surprise on 17th morning I was informed that the car has been sold without giving me a priority.Salesman sent we a video on 15th May 2026/and assured me the car will not be sold unless I opt out.Dealing in such a manner does not go well for CarPlanet.You need to be honest with the prospective buyers.

Reception could do with fixing up a bit and a lick of paint and the vending machine needs some sort of fixing!!! the noise it makes when not in use is annoying and I feel for the receptionist listening to it all day.
I cant thank you enough.

I never thought I would be writing a post like this, but I want to warn others before they spend thousands of pounds and end up in the same stressful situation my family is facing.
I purchased a Nissan Qashqai from Car Planet at around 24,000 miles. Like most customers, I trusted that the car had been properly checked and was in good condition before sale.
Unfortunately, after only around 21,000 miles of use, the vehicle suffered catastrophic engine failure at just 45,000 miles.
An independent engineer investigated the issue and confirmed:
Broken exhaust valve
Zero compression in cylinder 2
Internal engine damage
Full engine replacement required
Most importantly, the engineer stated the damage showed long-term wear and deterioration, meaning this was not something that suddenly happened overnight.
This has caused huge stress, financial pressure, and uncertainty for my family. A car is something we rely on every day, and instead we have been left dealing with a major engine failure and ongoing disputes.
I also raised concerns regarding:
Service history inconsistencies
Whether the correct servicing schedule had been followed
The quality and value of add-on service plans and warranties
I am currently pursuing the matter through the proper channels, including the Financial Ombudsman Service.
I’m not posting this to attack anyone. I simply want other buyers to:
✔ Carry out independent checks
✔ Verify service history carefully
✔ Read warranty and service-plan conditions properly
✔ Keep copies of all paperwork and communication
A modern engine failing at 45,000 miles is not something I ever expected.
If anyone else has experienced similar issues with the 1.2 Qashqai engine or with this dealership, I would genuinely appreciate hearing your experience.

Absolutely awful after sales
Absolutely awful after sales. You have the car they have their money and that’s as far as it goes. After sales is practically non existent and not helpful in the slightest. I’d avoid at all costs.

I recently purchased a Toyota Corolla…
I recently purchased a Toyota Corolla from Car Planet Watford and had a generally good experience. During the initial viewing, I noticed some scratches on the bumper and that the boot shelf was missing.
I requested the bumper to be repaired before handover. Although the workshop took a bit longer than expected to complete the job and send over the video proof, the final repair quality was top-notch and professional.
Special thanks to Talha for his excellent communication throughout the process and for sorting out enough fuel for my long drive back home to compensate for the missing parcel shelf. Aside from the slight delay with the workshop, the service was great, and the car is in fantastic condition. Would recommend!
