Our selection is an ever-evolving list of original and, most importantly, drinkable wines. From under-valued bargains to hard-to-find gems, we adore wines from all parts of the world, regardless of trends. You will find us on the beautiful Hazenstraat in the Jordaan neighbourhood of Amsterdam, Netherlands. We are Open Tuesday-Saturday 12:00-20:00 and Sunday from 12:00-17:00. Putting great service front and forward, we provide our customers with honest advice, exceptional wines and a friendly smile. Our online store is open at all hours. Customers within Amsterdam can order by 12:00pm to receive their wines the same day. Next-Day delivery is also available for the rest of Amsterdam and the Netherlands. We ship across the EU and Worldwide at competitive rates.

Thank you for review.
We're really sorry to hear about your experience. As we've discussed via email, unfortunately, due to a human error, you received the wrong parcel. We can only apologise for the inconvenience. Once you brought this to our attention, we immediately did our best to solve this situation. We hoped to have turned your experience around by going above and beyond to make up for this error by personally sending a family member to pick up the wrong package in a different city, in order to accommodate to your preference.
We had been closed this week until Thursday, which is why the new package had not yet been delivered, which we informed via email and you confirmed would work. We would have of course refunded the order had that been more convenient for you.
As a team of two, we strive to do our absolute best but of course, sometimes make human mistakes. We're sorry that this lead to a one star review, but feel free to come by the shop for a glass of wine anytime.

Not a good experience at all
I had a very unfortunate experience with Chenin Chenin which is a pity as the store stocks great wines.
A delivery was left in the building next door to mine as no one was home at the time of delivery. I was told it was number 23, and in the hallway. I went to this building, was asked to be let in, looking around and did not find the parcel in the hallway. I spoke to residents of the building who knew nothing about this.
The next day, David from Chenin Chenin called me an I can only say I was floored by the absolutely horrendous experience this call was. After explaining the steps I had already taken to try track the parcel down, David essentially told me this is my problem, and he was not willing to help. He literally laughed at me when I suggested Chenin Chenin should try sort this out.
I later spoke to Simon who was apologetic and polite and promised to help. He also said they planned to send something by way of apology.
The next day, I asked for an update, got told they’re working on it, and that was the end of it. I’ve never heard back since.
Eventually, five days later, I got a text not from someone in number 23, but 19, that the parcel was there. I got it myself and let Chenin Chenin know. I have never gotten any response. No communication whatsoever.
While the delivery failure itself is on the courier company, I don’t think this was handled well at all. Specifically David was astoundingly rude to me as the customer, and essentially after promising guarantees at the start this just fizzled out entirely from a customer service point of view.
Overall just a very negative experience with nothing at any point that was redeeming. Very disappointing.

Hi Lize,
It was very unfortunate that your parcel was left with a different neighbour than was communicated to us from our delivery partner. This is an unusual situation and something we had gone above and beyond to resolve.
My colleague and I did everything within our means to source the parcel from your neighbours during the week. We visited the building addresses on four separate occasions over five days, along with contacting the residents via telephone and emails. The parcel was left with both your phone number and address on the box for your neighbour to contact you, which they did.
We had communicated our plans and updates with yourself and Bastien (the purchaser) throughout the week over many emails, and had offered to replace the wines/offer a full refund if the parcel was not returned from your neighbour by the weekend. We couldn't replace the wines immediately as requested, until the parcel was confirmed to be lost - which ultimately it was not.
It is unfortunately untrue that you were not contacted any further after the day of delivery, I have personally contacted both yourself and Bastien with clear updates regarding your order throughout the week, of which you both responded to.
On Saturday, you sent us an email to let us know the wines had been returned to you. Bastien then followed up with a detailed email. I responded to this email and offered to extend our apology for the delay/inconvenience with an extra bottle of wine this week.
We have done our very best to help with this unusual situation. Our apologies if there has been some misunderstanding along the way. We are small business, operated by two people and are doing our utmost to provide a service to people across the world.
David had personally spoken to you the day it was delivered and the day after, whilst going out of his way to investigate where the parcel was left each day until it was returned to you by your neighbour. I am glad the wines are now with you, albeit later than planned.
